HAha I was in a rush because I only had a 45minute window to set up and film all the scenes and tear down. Maybe that helped? Lol Thanks for being a long time subscriber by the way. Really appreciate your support!
wonderful work keep it up!! I will definitely learn this soon the whole album is covered with nice usage of technique and skillz!! you did a good job of showing and explaining the patterns and practice makes perfect!!
I'm a guitarist but I've been loving your channel teaching me the drums of my favorite songs so I can write better (even if I am using programmed drums🤮 hopefully one day I'll have a real drummer as good as you helping me :D)
You can do so much with programmed drums nowadays that I think one doesn't need a real drummer anymore hahaha. But well it's a different feel to have a drummer on a record definitely! Thanks for the compliments Mitchell. Hope your writing is going well!
I’ve been listening to a lot of Plini too. They’re new singles are really awesome. I’m happy to see that you’re still going strong with your channel. I’ve been working on your Animals as leaders “Arithmaphobia” transcription. Best of luck!
Wow! I've been listening to this track since it released and this was my favorite groove throughout the whole song! I've been trying to figure out what kind of polyrhythm it was, a lo and behold, a new video from you about it!
Yes, it's also my favourite currently. Can't stop listening to the song and this groove. I gotta go get those ghost notes and play the next section though haha. Glad this helped, cheers!
Eeyyy man, it's been a while Im not coming in your channel! Really glad got notif from you. Keep up the great work man! Litterally you're such a great teacher 🔥🌟
Hey thanks for coming back Mutiara. I took somewhat of a little break from making videos too but now I'm back and I'm motivated. Thank you for your compliments, I'm glad to be of help :D
Oh cool, I'm doing another video on a particular tricky fill in from Flaneur next. Look out for that one, and thanks for all the support all these years!
Brilliant video breaking down this ingeniously written section! Although, could you help me understand the bass drum pattern? I'm finding it difficult to understand the part about pattern being 'imperfect groups of 5' and the '5+6+6' marked at 1:59. Thanks!
Oh I'm talking about 16th note spaces. 5 6 6 means (Note - - - - note - - - - - note - - - - -) I said they're imperfect just to show that they're close to being a grouping of 5 too, but is actually a grouping of 5 and 6s. Hope that helps, thanks by the way!
@@ArtOfDrummingHQ I get it now. Initially I thought the 5-6-6 worked for the entire 7-8 bars of 4/4 that you showed in the video. Realised now that it applied for only for that section in the last bar that you've marked. Thanks for explaining :D
I have the Roland TD30K. Roland is a very good quality long lasting bet! I've used mine for 4 years and played on other models. Nothing beats the feel and sound of Roland in my opinion. They have great options for all budget ranges too. Mine is on the higher side. But their mid range kits are also so good! Thanks anyway!
Thanks a lot man! I've been digging this song recently, and tbh i lost count bcs idk what is the tempo 😂 btw is the drum solo at the beginning also in 4/4 140bpm?
Hey sorry for the late reply, missed this question. The beginning drum solo and guitar and the accompanying section is in 140BPM and in 5/4. You're welcome Bayu :D It's difficult to catch because the first note that starts the phrase is an anticipated N of 4 upbeat before the 1. So it's like 1 - 2 - 3 - 4(N)START HERE - 5 - 1 (1st beat actually here)
Question: how do you feel about the cympads, they look like them, so assuming they are the branded cympad cymbal felts. Waste of money? or worth while? you make great videos cheers!
They just look good to me, since I play mainly loud music and the cymbals just have to be able to ring unhindered, the cympads are purely cosmetic. I have them on pretty loosely too except for the stack. Thanks for your compliments :D
@@ArtOfDrummingHQ okay, so you don't think they keep the cymbals more consistent level? Like my normal gibralter grey and dark grey felts get mashed down to one side...then I get different angles from what I've started at after playing for ya know weeks and what not.
Can definitely tell you're becoming more comfortable being the camera. Videos always improving, great job

Amazing lesson. Great explanation and breakdown of the beat!
Thanks Tom!
This channel deserves more subscribers and viewers, very easy and detailed tutorial to follow especially for rising bands like Plini, Covet, etc.
Thank you so much 😀

Thank you for your kind words, wish u lost of fun learning this!
thank you
Amazing ! Thanks for the tuto !
My pleasure!
"... and together, they become prog!!" Best line in this video. Heh. Love the breakdown! (also, nailing all that in 45mins is insane!)
Lol I couldn't find another way to explain it. And ya this is one of my shortest videos haha, So just go in, whack.
I too have been on Plini deep dive since the album came out.
Incredibly refreshing album.
Great job my man!
SUBSCRIBED. 👍🏼
Thanks man, impulse voices is really so damn good and it's refreshing like you said :)
This snare sounds amazing man!! congratulations
Thanks Daniel I love it!
Gotta tackle the groove in the beginning of Perfume next. It’s so good!!
Alright I'll give that a listen!
That beat is so fucking sick. Chris Allison is way too underrated
Oh he's damn awesome 👍
Amazing breakdown bro! My favorite song off the new album
Cool, thanks it's mine too!
Man I love that polyrhythm! Great video, as usual.
Your channel is amazing dude. Nothing more to say.
Most appreciated!
Thank you for this video I've been trying to nail this beat for the longest now! Lol
You're welcome hope you nail it asap!
Me too! Lol🥹
Did you ever get it with the ghost notes? You should do a full video cover 😀🤷🏽♂️
@@AbeE1theGthe part with the ghost notes is insanity. i've noticed that even chris himself struggles to play it clean lol

I see that protean
I didn't buy this one, was a gift, count myself really lucky heh :D
Hi, I like your videos! I just wanted to ask you - which electronic drum set do you have? I'm gonna buy soon.

@@Rkiser0592 Ah I see, if that is the case, change to the cympads. I've used them for the past 3 years and they still retain their shape.
did you recently get an endorsement from Paiste? Kit sounds great.
Oh hey not really, but there's something in the works. Thanks Will!
Nice paiste cymbals
