      first track: sounds like there's a descending sine getting triggered by the kick. how do you acoustically get that kind of quick pitch decay in a kick (or is Louis just triggering)?

    • @asynchronousongs
      @asynchronousongs Рік тому +2

      @@gloverelaxis maybe its parallel lowpassed then distorted then combined with the dry signal again and then compressed or something?
      i suppose just distorting only low frequencies could kinda give an effect like this since the high end is less prominent and thus the whole thing seems to drop in pitch?
      im probably wrong but that would be my guess.

      "If, at some point, you think that it is foolish or boring to just sit here and watch your breath go in and out,
      note to yourself that this is just a thought, a judgment that your mind is creating. Then simply let go of it and bring your attention back to your breathing.
      If the feeling is very strong, try the following additional experiment,
      which we sometimes suggest to our patients who feel similarly bored with watching their breathing:
      Take the thumb and first finger of either hand, clamp them tightly over your nose, keep your mouth closed,
      and notice how long it takes before your breathing becomes very interesting to you!"

      As a guitarist, this took me damn near 7 years to actually accept. Eventually I got to a point in my playing where I couldn't just speed my way through something and have it sound really good. It still pains me to play shit slowly, but it's absolutely necessary to develop the proper technique.

      My bass drum sound: Smaller drum 16”-20”. Ambassador heads (sometimes hole) No muffling inside the kick drum. Some muffling outside of both heads (a rag leaning up against the head). Tune all bolts loose on resonant side. Medium tension on hitting side with 2-3 bolts fully loose (pasted from twitter)

    Can you do an explanation on why you put cymbals on your drums - I love the sound, but I'm curious to the origin. I got turned onto you from your old ass Jungle (DnB?) drumming video and you had the cymbal there (and here). I'm wondering if you learned that from someone else or if that is just a common technique. Are there any other drummers that use that technique that you look up to or recommend?
