Represents the best of his age. He played an elegant, gentlemanly, melancholy piano. He touched our hearts in an uncomparable way. Where have all his loving rythms gone, dear God...?

Ive known lot of people who said "grandma played just like that" or Auntie Flo or some guy at the pub played just like Charlie Kunz. The fact is no one played like Charlie Kunz. His control of touch and tone was rarely equalled even by the great classical pianists of his time, several of whom acknowledged that. Charlie Kunz had a unique technique of using a half syncopation and no one I ever heard could do that. One of the great musicians of the 20th centuary.

My father listened to Charlie Kunz, he was born in 1917. CK immediately reminds me of my daddy

Charlie Kunz was in a class of his own. He was unique but he was lucky in that during his time there were lots of great Songwriters who composed lots of great songs which we have allowed to drift into oblivion and be replaced by primitive sounds from the distant past masquerading as music. Were it not for the wonder of UA-cam and Uploaders we would have nothing to listen to. Music on radio airwaves disappeared decades ago.

My grandmother too, she styled her playing on Charlie. If only I was able to imitate him

Charlie playing the piano during the 1940' as we listened to the radio lay back with our eyes shut.
