YOU PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH I ENJOY TWITTER! Truthfully it's more the community aspect of it all. I really just liked seeing peoples reactions to things on that app. FUCK ELON MUSK!
Nintendo needs to bring back a Miiverse-like site or that site that lets you capture screenshots on Wii U/3DS and share it around, but just easier to share/copy photos from the Switch without requiring plugging in the USB. Not really into that phone downloading images/videos QR thing.
so many twitter thirst bots are following my account everyday to the point where i'm tired of blocking & reporting them one by one, feels like it does nothing. Also those unrelated tweet replies from user with verification badge in popular post is annoying af.
Is it really that huge of a loss? Let's be honest with ourselves, we all forgot this feature existed until Nintendo announced they were scrapping it from the Switch.
It's nice that you no longer need a Twitter account for Splatoon plaza posts and all but it's also sad to have witnessed the site fall apart so much over the past year and a half
A lot of people used it to share clips and screenshots. Some people had dedicated accounts, and some competitive players even used it as a sort of portfolio. It's not entirely gone because you can still send them to your phone from the switch, but the process is that much more convoluted.
I have a conspiracy theory: i think the reason why he bought twitter isn't to improved it is to make so bad that people have no choice but to shut it down twitter
Yes absolutely, social media is an incredible tool to spread information, unite people against social issues, and criticize those in power. Naturally the richest man in the world who got his money from an apartheid emerald mine would have everything to gain by damaging this tool
Howard Hughes once bought one of the biggest movie company in the world and run it into the ground. I can't see Elon Musk selling Twitter ever, he seem that type of person who rather destroy Twitter than allow anyone else to touch it
Usually it's by region and popularity. If a post gets a lot of "Yeah!" and is made by a player geographically close to you it's more likely to show up in your plaza. But you can get posts from others regions, specially if they're really popular (hence why you still see memes and posts of more well known people even if they're from afar).
Honestly this sets nintendo up perfectly to bring back miiverse or make their nintedo switch app the main source of content sharing. I guess it's up to nintendo to capitalize on this or not
I'm gonna go for a walk in a few minutes here to clear my head to help my practice with a speedrunning trick. Probably only gonna be a 20 minute walk, but it should help.
I wouldn't call it the "best" feature, but considering how handy it was to directly share screenshots/clips from the switch (and the lack of a nintendo-centric social platform) this is a blow to the community.
I want to say less but nah I'll stand on business. Comments here really showing the it doesn't bother me so idc attitude (at best). This was a genuinely useful feature for the *system as a whole* even outside Splatoon. While I agree its implementation in Splatoon had issues this is a genuine loss for the system as a whole, it was a great feature. Now I'll say less.
Why I call it the best is mainly the ability to share clips so easily. That’s it really. I think being able to do that to social apps that have communities is really dope. When you lose features like this. It incentivizes less people to post. It’s just sad is all.
@@KenKnowsIt Fair. For me? I benefit from this change, because I don't gotta see some bizzare crap when I'm walking into the plaza no more. Well, LESS frequently rather. Seriously, as a Splatoon player, y'all (in general, I'm generalizing) weird.
@@Harbinger817 Said stuff was also the reason why jump ship to the JP plaza due to some of the stuff on the US region that people post... Meanwhile in JP side of things is cute and game related stuff.
@@Harbinger817yup, I couldn’t tell if people were trolling or not, but ever since Nintendo gave us the option to pick a region, all the weird -ish disappeared. It’s not like some the weird stuff isn’t on the Japanese side either (if you understood the language, you also understand the context), but all that is usually washed away by actual art and decently funny jokes. I must say though I did actually use this feature a lot, but after we started getting “send to smartphone” option, I mostly stopped using it. At least I get to choose what I want to do with the shots and clips now.

All this did is just prevent me from posting stuff to splatoon. This is a win in my opinion.
Agreed!
+ you can still post to Facebook on S2 + you don’t even need have Twitter and Facebook to post in S3
I think it's better for Nintendo to bring back Mii-Verse back from the dead for the Nintendo switch and the next-gen Nintendo console in the future.

in my personal opinion, controversially, the best feature of the switch is the games
Mine is Joy-Con Drift!
Oh no… anyways.
I'm curious how Splatoon plaza posts work now, what determines which posts show up in other people's games?
you just press ‘post’ and then its there. plaza appearance are probably determined by how many people vote “Fresh” in-game

Depends on the region. Your plaza is bound to your Splatfest region, so you will only see posts from players who also chose the same Splatfest region.
Similar to how UA-cam comments work. The most liked ones will be the priority.
