  • Side-by-side comparison of the authentic Atlas bipod and the "bonus" features the counterfeits have to offer. The counterfeit being used is one sent into B&T Industries from a customer taking advantage of the Wright Project.
    The Wright Project gives a customer the opportunity to turn their counterfeit Atlas into B&T Industries L.L.C. for a $25.00 dollar credit towards a purchase of an authentic, made in America Atlas Bipod.

      @@randomvideosfilmcollection3161 The problems he's showing are problems I don't have with mine. Mine have one piece legs, the pivot tension knob does not unscrew all the way like he showed. The clone I have is a great copy. Not saying I'll never have problems but to be honest, you can have problems with real stuff too. I spend money where I need to spend money and that is usually in bolts, triggers, barrels and internals. These "original" Atlas bipods seriously cost wayyyy too much.

    What I want to know is, what makes this thing worth $300? My $50 bipod does the exact same thing, is durable, and does everything the Atlas does. I think you're getting severely ripped off.

    • @Lapinmiez
      @Lapinmiez 3 роки тому +1

      What exactly is this ''$50 bipod'' you speak of? And what does it do when it ''does the exact same thing''? Hangs on your rifle that sits 247 in your cabinet never even having witnessed the light of day?
      At that price point you cant find anything thats worthy to be called durable or having the same features as atlas.
      Sounds like major league bullshit.

    I don't own an atlas or a counterfeit atlas. I want one though. After shooting targets for 15 years in palma competitions, including state and national teams, you realise that you rely on your gear heavily. I have had a few cheap rifles and a few cheap items that are amazing, but mostly you have to pay for quality - and that quality lasts. My Kreiger barrel still shoots 1/4 min groups after 5000 rounds, my custom action functions flawlessly, every single shot, through a tuned trigger that breaks so smooth not even the best scientific instrumentation could detect its movement. My stock is firmly attached through a custom made carbon fibre bedding block. Sights are dialed in for windage, elevation, adjustaed for mirage. The smith took 6 months to fit the barrel, because I used the best smith, not the fastest or the cheapest. And before I shut that bolt on a handmade and measured round tuned for accuracy, I know that everything is working in harmony to make me the only weak link in the otherwise perfect setup.
    Confidence in your gear can give you points. I don't know what the difference is between the two bipods, and in all honesty reading a few of the reviews, the knock-off chinese bipods seem to hold up quite well. However, when the difference in a win is measured over 1000 yard shots, the smallest flaw is amplified. $300 to someone who has this as their shooting criteria, giving you a .01" decrease in group size is definately worth the cost. Its a no brainer.
    When I plink steel with my $200 stirling bolt action .22 that bears the scars of 20 years of being dropped, rusted, had firewood piled on top of, left exposed to the elements on a gun rack on the front of an ATV for a week at a time, the knock-off is a no-brainer.
    I have all respect for the original design that went into this bipod. And I realise that B&T would feel ripped off that their idea is being coppied. But the Harris got ripped off too, as do most things that are new, and work. The knock-offs are here to stay. Consider it flattery. I suggest you don't bitch about it. Fight it - Introduce your own line of "budget" bipods at the $100-120 price point. Go to china, make your own products there. There are some really good manufacturers in china, just as there are some really bad ones. Get a budget Atlas built there and upsell the knock offs. You could still have the premium line, but not loose the market to overseas competition.

    In all honesty, the Atlas Bipods probably only took $25 to $50 to make and we pay $200 to $350. The design is simple and it works. The prices remain high because we are willing to pay for it. I usually use smart phones as an example, the prices are $100 - $1100 in America because we are willing to pay that much for them in other countries they pay only a fraction of the cost.

    Mine came in yesterday and the 3” leg extensions came in today. The quality is unreal. Still, I called the company today to clarify mine was real as some of the knockoffs look close. At least the older ones did. But this video so good to distinguish the real Atlas from the clones. The plastic cap on the tension wheel is the main thing. The real Atlas tension wheel will not screw off like the knockoffs. And the new BT-46 wheel has only 4 protrusions on the wheel and only turns a half a turn or a little more. I’ve not seen a clone with limiting bosses either. Thanks for this video to clarify things.

    B&T makes a great product no doubt about it, I don't think it's $300 great. The value of an object is set at what the customer will pay for it. People want and crave the quality of the B&T products but they simply as a whole refuse to pay the exorbitant price. They continue to look for an item that will fill their needs and China is listening. B&T did this to themselves, they made the counterfeit product more appealing than the original. I know the theft of intellectual property is wrong but so is the fleecing of the consumer.

      For clarity, that bipod came to us in that condition through the Wright Project. We are simply demonstrating how it fell apart on the end user. Our experience suggests all counterfeits will have premature failure with use.

      B&T Industries oh whatever! When we can buy 6 vs. 1 it still wouldnt make sense. Lol i mean do the math. Wait im sure you have which is exactly why you want people to buy Atlas. I tell you what, my knock off is GREAT and with all the money i saved i can afford for it to fail "premature" as you put it. Lol il go buy another and still have OVER $200+ Left. Whens it gonna fail tho. Im on year 2 with no problems. The key to anything lasting a long life, even the highest quality of products, is maintaining them regularly and properly. Bipods are easy... 100% silicone for the legs.CRC Moly Graph for the internals and a couple orings here and there where needed and cleaning as needed. $300+ Atlas! Lol Paaaaa lease......

    The price wouldn't bother me, the $220.00, but I'm a bench shooter. I served for 13 years in the U.S. Army, I have multiple injuries and agent orange problems. So, shooting from the ground is impossible for me to do, the bench is what I have left to shoot from. The slots in most bipods place you are either too high or too low. I just wish some company would make them with something in between. Vietnam veteran who likes shooting; 11/1970-11/1971 the Mekong Delta.
