you know.... you could probably drill and tap a hole to either side of the limiting boss, insert a set screw and lock pan but allow cant.

Seems like a design flaw to me, because when you over tighten the knob you end up losing the pan feature.

Atlas sells bipods with no pan or can’t why not just buy one of those instead?
