How reliable is the adjustable tension on it? Is it like/better than a Magpul where you can adjust that pan/can’t tension to your liking?

it really just simply is a good product its nice, and seemingly increasingly rare, when the only problems i have with a design are over nothing but preferences 👍

I have BT tripods on all of my precision rifles- MRAD, Super SASS, SCAR 20S, GAP Templar 6.5 cm and Hill country in 375 CT. They just work every time all the time and I pretty rough with my gear in training.

I just got the atlas BT46-LW17, and holy cow! This thing is a tank, and it’s so awesome. I think I ruined myself for all other bipods. It has and does everything I have ever wanted in a bipod plus more. Way to go atlas. This is a grand slam and a total slayer of all other bipods. I will buy another (as soon as I can afford one) lol. They’re pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for and this is no exception. Wel thought out controls and layout. The almost infinite amount of combinations you can do with this thing. I’m impressed! Also your video showed me things and possibilities I never even knew about this bipod. Well done on the video as well. I’m an atlas fan for sure! I do have a question. Mine has a little play in the legs in all positions and yours doesn’t appear to have it. Is it Norma to have a tad of play or are mine too loose? I got them brand new from a reputable dealer. Either way I love them. I’m jus curious.

I really like the extension. You could carry a couple 1/2" dowels while hunting and use the bipod like shooting sticks.

I used BT46 LW17 PSR and BT35-LW17 for shooting up to 1600 yards. Surprisingly I prefer BT46 over BT35 because of the way how canting is implemented in BT35. Sliding on the curved rail + longer arm requires more force, making cant adjustment to feel heavy and jammy. It's hard to adjust the can't precisely when I'm on target. Sliding cant changes the elevation and also is harder to maintain, since it tends to slide back under the force of gravity when rifle recoils.

  • @bretthl1

I like my Atlas bipod but the draw back to these over the Harris style bipods is dust. The slightest of amout of dust or fine dirt will cause the leg to jamb because the clearance between the inner and outer leg is extremely small and there is no seal. If you use a bipod in a dusty or sandy environment you may want to consider this problem.

I'm not a fan of attaching this to a rail. The lever only opens if it's canted all the way to left (otherwise the lever can't swing past the semi-circle cant rail). I'm also not a huge fan of the tension wheel. Even tightening it up about as far as it will go, there's still some play in terms of panning.

Wow, excellent video! My BT46-PSR is on its way to me and this video really affirmed my decision to buy it. I bought it mainly based on its reputation for being well-designed, well-built, and completely worth the higher price. This video just demonstrated a number of ways of using it that I hadn't considered. Some of the things show I doubt would work as well with a lower quality bipod.

The BT10 V8 is a rip off. B&T has a program to reclaim them but at a cost of 50% more for BT46 PSR which only fixes the problems with the BT10 V8.

The bipods are cool, but man they need new names. It feels like you have to remember a random sequence of letters and numbers to know what exact model is the subject. Hire me, I'll come up with cool names for them for free. But I guess if it's for free, I'm not really being hired. Lmao
