      Melissa Holland’s Biggest Fan to an extent I would assume. I wouldn’t recommend it but I’m not a tuner, I would honestly ask them what’s the pros and cons are.

    • @youwantshum9860
      @youwantshum9860 4 роки тому +8

      Noe Varela there are no pros, just cons. The extra fuel added to make crackles and pops in the exhaust means more fuel consumption, possible damage to the cat, possible damage to other exhaust components (not very likely). And general combustion in the exhaust system isn't really good for the engine too.

    For auto trans drivers ! 1. you have to use the manual shifting mode for pops. And also adjust between 2k-4krpm in the left two Columns of the high map (the map with the H) As well as 2krpm and 2250rpm in the third colomn this is where the auto shifting rsx "manual mode" decelerated at for me. I found -8 timing slow down to be a great sweet spot.

    So for auto crackle you just -5 for 2000rpm and up on all degree tabs in high/low ignition tables and overrun delay to 2000 in all gears. Simple enough.

      It might be that simple but this is way to much crackle.. id rather do a custom job on the ignition retardkng tables and do -values or low ones at least for a soft crackle at around 5000, then 3000-4000 and again a small else tion around the 2250 mark.. when doing a run itll only crackle a. it and not go ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR until the car stops basically😂😂 I dont think cops would love to see this as well.. wouldnt beentoo much of a concern to me when tuning but still id rather not get my car shut down by cops for having a bad tune :D

    Thanks for the video. Gave me a few ideas. Here I am decreasing timing about 5-10 degrees and still around 13 and you are going negative….that’s probably the secret for big pops and crackles. A bit too much for me. But I’ll be sure to add the fuel cut delay time higher for 1-2 gear

And then he got pelted by this stuff every time he went out. It didn't take him long to realize that it wasn't cool and it just really pissed people off. I didn’t change anything else other then what you showed I’m not complaining it’s still awesome for now and appreciate the video just found it strange if I rev up to 6k and get off the throttle it wouldn’t pop as much as if I rev to 4K and let go

    Just pushed this flash to my ILX K24V7. Quiet Axleback only. I *think* it’s working but I can barely hear it. Is it inaudible if you have the stock resonator/stock downpipe? Or should it still be super loud and poppy? Just wondering if I need to get an axleback/Rv6 dp now just to hear the pop?

    Hey Nick, I’ve got a 2013 Honda accord 2.4L, catless, 2.5” catback, SRI. I basically copy and pasted what you did, first 2 columns to a negative number, for whatever reason I only get pops below 3k even though i have -20 set from 2000rpm to 7500rpm. It pops very nice from 3k-2k, but why wont it go above that? What am I doing wrong. Thanks in advance

    After getting my k swap done and tuned. I was surprised that I couldn't find any info online but basically if I have vtec engaged and under light throttle the car sounds like it's burbling almost like a 2step since the rpm bounces like a 2 step and speed stays constant but it's rolling. Is that a thing and if so why don't i hear that from other honda peeps cause the sound is addicting and it doesn't sound like gun shots

  • @three2sedan

    Hey Nick! So i when i bought my RSX, i was able to crackle when i go up to 4k and slightly blip the throttle to make it constantly crackle and pop. Thing is im not tuned so do you know what might cause this to happen? I have the OEM cat, 2.5 piping to greddy rs muffler no resonator.

    • @tuningbynick
      @tuningbynick  4 роки тому

      There are lots of potential reasons for this - for example the TPS calibration could be off, which would mess with how the ECU detects decel - Unfortunately there is real no way for me to know without working on the car tho

    So from what i could understand, the Pops and sound is coming from the pistons when it's being injected and burned. But pistons are opened so there is no pressure and this is the sound of the fuel being ignited?

    • @tuningbynick
      @tuningbynick  4 роки тому

      what we are hearing is basically the ignition events happening in the exhaust instead of in the cylinder which - The pop are little explosions in the exhaust
