@sagemata5756 No. Lol. It was briefly for the memes. But it's very mild now. Words can't describe how obnoxious it was to drive. It sounded fucking horrible. Do it for the memes, but revert it back afterwards.
Good explanation of the obnoxious version of the tune. The way I usually do it is leave DFCO enabled, don’t touch main spark. Just adjust minimum spark and DFCO entry spark. It’ll ramp timing down until the DFCO entry point which will create some nice pops and then it will stop because it will hit fuel cut. Nice way to do the tune without getting too annoying. Anyone interested in a Gen 5 GM strategy for burbles, check out the video I did on it. If you adjust the main spark tables on a Gen 5 platform, torque management will freak out and car will jerk back and forth. You need to use the minimum spark strategy and adjust the torque tables accordingly to get the ECM to pull decel timing. If you don’t modify the torque tables, the torque management will fight you, adding timing. So your spark will oscillate between low timing and high timing and the car will drive like crap. Not an issue for Gen 3-4 vehicles. Only an issue for Gen 5.
That is what Holden did to the last SSs with LS3. Interestingly, whe I got some US SS stock tunes from HP tunners , the DFCO spark entry tables were much more advanced so no burble.
@@pixaim69 yeah that’s at least an easy thing to modify. The Gen 5 PCMs don’t have the entry spark or entry delay tables. It’s all torque based now so it’s way more annoying to do.
Gen 4 ECUs can do this through the Idle Spark Advance Coastdown spark table so you don't need to mess with your main spark tables. With my combo 15° positive (also locked out at +15° on the minimum spark table) gave me enough to have a nice aggressive burble without any of the pop.
Yes. I was going to say the same thing, but you beat me to it… on Gen 3 OS you can use the Traction Control request in the tune to retard the timing. Then run a switch to pin 53 on the Red connector to ground it out. This feature can also be used for something much more useful like a 2 step for launch control or turbo spool.
