Thanks for all the support, we are having a blast doing these ST videos. There will be dyno numbers for this one and we will also be doing a catless downpipe video and dyno in the near future so make sure you subscribe!
Thanks allot for this video! Im actuall going to a shop this weekend and installing the COBB Intake and Downpipe and Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust myself. Ill be reverting back to these videos probably the whole time but itll get done! Keep it up brother
Very helpful video. Only thing that would have been more helpful is if you would have said the sizes of the wrenches and sockets you were using as you were doing each particular step.
insta King_of_Ford no because it bolts onto the stock downpipe, but most aftermarket ones don't have a place to bolt it. Some do though like MBRP and CPE.
Did you reinstall the brackets that needed to be taken off for the engine mount or can you leave them off? I did not see you put those brackets back on in the video.
I’ve actually have them off bc they didn’t wanna go back in while installing my motor mount and I have no issues so I think it would be fine but if you can put it back I would
I thought i saw on the website that this downpipe doesnt need a tune right away? So i shouldnt add this mod to my daily driver until im ready for a custom tune?
I had my Downpipe and Catback exhaust on my car for about 11 months now with no tune and no errors have popped up. My ST is my Daily Drive to work also.
The opening exhaust sound. Is that a focus ST and if so whats the exhaust set up? Its the perfect sound im looking for. Just a bit louder. Basically just want a catted downpipe and retain factory exhaust. The mbrp i heard honestly was like the same as the factory so maybe a catted down pipe will get the sound I'm looking for
It definitely won't void warranty because of the the Magnusson warranty act which protects those who choose to modify their cars, the dealer would have to prove that the aftermarket installation caused the problem but of course it's all risky because the dealer could give you a really hard time
@@whatjake7898 lol yeah I'm sure that came in handy, I'm actually doing thr install right now and my big hands make every installation like this harder
So will it hurt the car if I dont have the V3 Accessport from Cobb yet? In the video you said itll run rich and ill need to adjust the maps for the new downpipe.
I would suggest a tune when running a downpipe. I have no data from running one untuned but it will surely run rich and running too rich for an extended time can cause damage just like running lean. It very well might be perfectly ok but I do not have any data to back that up
Yousuf Zuberi I went back and forth on my thoughts on that to be honest. My first inclination was lean but they I thought about the fact that the sensors should pick up that the cat is not working properly and usually the computer then dumps fuel. There was a noticeable amount of black smoke when this was first installed.
I'm new to the Cobb v3 Access port. What kind of map will we want to upload to the computer after installing the downpipe? Or does that depend on what kind of performance we're looking to get? I watched the Cobb v3 video and understand the Stage 1,2,3 maps, but do we need to re-upload a map after downpipe installation?
hey so I am buying an st at the moment but it is throwing a code for the bank one sensor! It has to be sent to ford to get fixed. my question is does the oem downpipe fit on the cobb exhaust?
I cannot for the life of me get the v clamp onto the new downpipe it seems like the screw with a hammer like tip on it just doesnt fit into the position you guys had it before starting. I tried putting it on before and after and i can only get it into that position with the clamp almost fully sealed. I cant put it onto the turbo is really the issue.... help pleaseeeeeee
I’m almost getting like a “grinding” feeling in my clutch after the downpipe install. I only feel it in first gear when at low rpms. I don’t feel it every time though? Any thoughts?
I know im 6 months behind on a reply but 2 things i dealt with after installing a downpipe on my focus was hangers hitting the subframe and catback hitting the cross brace. I loosened my downpipe and tightened the catback before tightening vband and i also cut the hangers a tiny bit
Many of products will fit the 13-15. The only one I know is different are the oil separators. As we get products and cars to test we will update our parts listings.
This install was way worse on my 2018 than it looks in this video. Freakin v-band clamp was pretty much welded on the pipe. Had to bend and pry it off and the number of f-bombs used when trying to put it back on during the new install was definitely over 9000. One of the o2 sensors came out with several threads missing and basically turned to dust. Car has 6k miles on it. Seems like Ford just didn't care on the last year of the ST. Explains why they still haven't released a tune for it. Ended up going with Stratified and been very happy with them so far.
+Michael Harris First off, I went to the cobb website and the escape is not listed on there. Second off, the reason I ask is because the Focus and the Escape are built on the same platform. And finally, they booth have the 2.0 Ecoboost as an engine option. p.s. I went to the website before asking the question.
I have the Flowmaster American thunder, and it was too drony down the highway at 70. An hour commute it's just plain obnoxious, and I have the sound symposer delete. I'd like to mate a downpipe with the Mountune catback I'm installing this weekend. Looks to be an fairly reasonable installation.

We have one here and will be doing the install in the very near future
did you not reinstall the mounting bracket at 3:35? is this not necessary ?
Having a really hard time disconnecting these oxygen sensor plugs. Any advice?
There really is no trick to it. They are tough to reach but once you find them they are not that hard to disconnect.
Does the installation of downpipe needs to be programmed on the computer
My car is stok
This is a stupid question but what exactly is that weaved section of the downpipe? Whats the purpose of it?
Chris Alcala Flex pipe since the engine moves
Bill Tumas Of course! Thanks. So would a downpipe without that section be bad? I have a 08 Mazdaspeed3 and I'm currently looking at some.

Are both the o2 sensors usually able to be removed without messing up the threads on them?
Im so sad they discontinued this. Was looking to get one.
great vid tho what was the power increase numbers??
What is that thing on downpipe, which looks like a net or a basket, and why nearly every car has that?
Thanks for answer
It's a flex pipe section so the engine can move without the pipe getting damaged or damaging the turbo.
So will it hurt the car if I dont have the V3 Accessport from Cobb yet? In the video you said itll run rich and ill need to adjust the maps for the new downpipe.
