I have a Pasta. I've had it since last Summer. It was a rehab purchase. I cut it down and it took til this year to actually start growing. I do need to change it into Leca. I am waiting patiently, for it to get huge leaves. Thanks for sharing mate.
Loved this video! I have one of those white pots with a bunch of Micans in it, sitting on top of a very tall bookcase. They look so pretty trailing down, covering the books! I don't use it for the self watering either, I just liked the shape of the pot for the look I was going after. :) Would you consider making a video of the next time you make your soil mix? I don't need an exact recipe, but I can eyeball it from a video.
Yes you are doing semi hydroponics. Judging by the pots, they look like the ones I got from aliexpress. The float of the water meter is not very reliable so make sure to check the reservoir once in a while. If you can find rectangular lecuza pots in AU they look nicer and the build quality is much better 💚
Quick question! If plants have thrips and you're treating them, repot, go the whole nine..do you add the moss pole after Or during the repot? My stiltepicana got sick and I wanted to add a moss pole but wasn't sure of the timing since it's sick. Love your videos! 🥰 I'm always in awe when I see your plants ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial ! Beautiful Pasta 💚 What option do you choose when the plant filled the pot? do you cut it to make a new plant or do you repot it in a longer pot ?
Many thanks for tips! Awesome plants - I hope to try to mature my plants by using your pole methods! Any advice on growing seedlings? My gloriosum, Glorious, Melano seedlings are having a hard time growing and keeping more than one leaf at a time. I keep them in small domed cups with aeration.
I talk about it here: My crawling Philodendrons - gloriosum, pastazanum, plowmanii etc. - growing large aroids indoors ua-cam.com/video/FiLGENGFiAQ/v-deo.html
Cheers :) 80% of my plants get natural light only. I use grow lights to just supplement light in dark corners. I use lights from a company called mother.life.official
@@sydneyplantguy thankyou. Rushed to bunnings this morning and purchased everything to make your poles. All of my babies are getting new ones today. I hate the commercial ones. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
I have a monstera that seems to be crawling instead of climbing. It’s very wide but in a round pot. My question is - to what end do you keep getting wider pots? I mean technically it can get 8 feet wide right ? lol. Helpppp 😝
Hi I've never had any crawling philodendrons so i reckon this is a pretty silly question, but can you not climb this up a pole at all? I want a bushy tall plant and i imagine having it crawl won't look the best. Thanks!
The plant will naturally not want to climb, you’ll have to force ever single node to climb and redirect the plant which will probably not be in the plants best interest. If you want plants to thrive grow them in line with their natural growth pattern, not against it :)
@@sydneyplantguy ok, thanks for the answer. Then I won't get a pastazanum yet until i get enough space for it. Your videos are great, keep it up :) all the best!
Ok. My Gloriousum is done now. Thank you ❤😂🎉🎉
Your moss poles with your media is genius, gorgeous plants so healthy and big, love your videos.Thank you for sharing such informative videos!
Thanks :)
So you found that it’s not an issue to uppot in a much larger pot for these crawling plants. 🤔 maybe I will just give it a go for my gloriosum.
Beautiful plants collection 💚😍
Thanks:)

Thanks :)
Great video. Follow you on ig. Get yourself a mic my guy, and clip it to your shirt.

I think it is a Lechuza pot. You can get the also from catch.
@@radysy381 î might be wrong but i also use lechuzy and the finishinf is different as well as the shape of the outer pot.

Either would work :) lets see if i can find a nice looking bigger pot :)
Great video!
What do you do with the crawling plants when they reach the end of the pot?
I’m pretty sure u repot it in to a longer pot or propagate it
I see a lot of folks chop it, prop it, and make another plant.
Exactly :)
Thanks
Thanks for video ! Is that Lechuza pot ?
I got that same pit in amazon too
💚
Your P. McDowel is beautiful!!
Thanks :)
Nice 👍

Sounds like you’re doing the right thing! I always grow mine from cuttings so not much experience with philodendron seedlings sorry 🤷🏻♂️
How can you tell if the plant is a crawler or a creeper please…thank you🤩
thank you for this amazing video.. is Philodendron Fuzzy Petiole also crawler?
Cheers :) i’m not sure sorry
What do you do when it gets to the end of the planter? Chop and prop?
Yes :)
Can you please let me know where I can get coco chips from or the equivalent. I’m in Sydney but can’t seem to find them 🤷🏼♀️ thank you
Sydney Hydroponic Store :)
@@sydneyplantguy thank you so much…
This is great 👍🏼 my pasta growth point is in the middle. Is it climbing the little weirdo 🙄
Hi, is the philodendron pastazanum always a crawler or also a climber? Thanks a lot for your help!!
To my knowledge always a crawler :)
Thank you soooo much!!!!! Have a great day! @@sydneyplantguy

Will crawling philos just not do well on a pole or can they be trained essentially?
The plant will not thrive if you force it to grow against their natural growth pattern
Silly question..but I have to ask
Do u think a crawler philodendron could grow on a moss pole 🤔 (utilizing your method)?
I talk about it here: My crawling Philodendrons - gloriosum, pastazanum, plowmanii etc. - growing large aroids indoors
ua-cam.com/video/FiLGENGFiAQ/v-deo.html
accidental hydroponics😂
Idk about you in Australia, but that’s like a $400 plant here in Oregon.
It used to be more expensive but they have been tissue cultured here so are much cheaper now :)
Always love your content! Do you have any recommendations for grow lights?
Cheers :) 80% of my plants get natural light only. I use grow lights to just supplement light in dark corners. I use lights from a company called mother.life.official
@@sydneyplantguy I have one of their lights too (in my Milsbo cabinet), they are amazing lights!
Would you plant a philadendron glosorium in a pot like this too? I was thinking of putting mine in one as they like to crawl.
Yes :)

Because i have very limited soace available I wouldn’t go bugger than a 25cm pot but supposenit really depends on how much space u have :)
@@sydneyplantguy I’m dealing with this monster monstera that’s growing sideways and I really need to train it to climb like ur beautiful plants.

Can you please give some home made nutrients recipe..in our country this type of plant nutrients Isn't available..it’s a humble request..
I have no idea how to make fertiliser yourself. I just buy it over here so sorry I can’t help
Can't this plant be on a moss pole? It does have nodes that produce roots..
It grows horizontally, not vertically :)
@@sydneyplantguy Wouldn't it grow vertically if attached to a moss pole?
You could force it but that’s not it’s natural growth pattern
May be you know Anthurium andraeanum is a climber or a crawler? I think it is a climber but I've never seen somebody trying to grow it on a mosspole.
I don’t know sorry
@@sydneyplantguy thanks, so I need to experiment)) because Google doesn't give an answer either...
