Last winter I was determined to catch a pike on lure out of the Severn, caught 100's on dead/lives but not lure. I used a Savage Gear glider roach. Kept swim, pause-let it sink, swim repeat after half hour managed a small one (just over 8lb),tried another swim with access to more water. Had another about the same size, next cast had a 15 lb4oz one. Well happy 😊
i'm watching every videos you post, for long time and i'm wonder why there is no other fishermans arround you. Your spots looks very very well. And pikes are better than everything what pike fishermans dreams for. Keep fishing, i enjoy every video you share!
I just can't believe the price of the lures in the UK, In Canada I pay 1/3 for my lures, when I left Scotland in 94 I had like two Rapalas, I couldn't afford any more. I hate the way tackle companies rip people off. Great video as always with some stellar hits / close calls.
You’re paying for the thousands of man hours in research and development when purchasing a Rapala or the like and I’m cool with that. I’ve found since using more expensive lures, hard baits especially I’ve snagged less in the water and kept lures for months rather than a few trips and at the bottom of a river. That’s just my personal experience though. I do also feel they are slightly overpriced but if it means I don’t lose the lure then it’s not really because I would have spend that amount replacing other ones over the same time period. That’s just my opinion I guess and each to their own and all that. What’s the pike fishing like in Canada?
@@wilmawife oh right 😂 I guess that’s probably got something to do with dollar/pound conversion and them being the same price in dollars as pounds? For example, $15 isn’t equal to £15 but the lures cost those amounts in their respective countries.
Dan you should have slashed the lure in a clear patch where the pike hit the lure I do it where there is an overhanging bush or floating weed beds it works for me
Hi mate what canals do you fish?I've been fishing the grand union arm towards foxton locks and it's full of fish I'm after my first zander as never caught one but still trying and no luck yet.great vid
nice video man, was wondering what length rod youre using there and what thickness/test leader you got on it? im running pretty thick braid and steel wire but im thinking of trying a fluoro leader for pike but not sure what thickness it has to be.
Get on Dom you're pumping out the videos well done bro I'm loving it your content is always tops keep them coming and I'll keep watching and supporting the channel💯👌 P.S if you're not going to use that lure again any chance you throw it my way.
Have caught so many small pike recently and treble hooks are effective but annoying as it can make unhooking the fish to be released so hard, even barbless. Ever switched the trebles for a two single hooks? I might try that
Watched that first eruption a few times and I’m almost 100% sure it was two pike and they both missed. Can see two distinct tail swirls one on either side of the bait.
Don't think that Lure Is worth £30 You are better off with a Westin, "Mike The Pike" large one. I have had loads on mine, They just seem to love them. Keep the Sessions coming.
If you don't want that Molix I would give you your money back for it if your willing to ship it to the US. Depending on the shipping which I would also pay

@@LiamDCoughlan you missed the point , I still buy Rapala lures but they cost less in north America than the UK.

Unnatural action.

Ahh yess just what the doctor ordered
Do you like the Molix ? I am just getting into Glidebaits and I have the River 2 Sea 168 and Savage Gear shine glide but I like the look of the Molix
might be an idea to fish that lure on reel handle....just a thought
Dan whats your fave kind of fishing in general. fly, spin or casting rod style? cheers
Soon time for you to try the big boys glide bait, berkley zilla glider. Had loads of pike on mine already.
I won one of these dan lol was a great lure just got a bit dull for me caught me a few fish though
I would draw zebra stripes on that bait with a sharpie black marker and maybe nick the old lady's nail varnish and put some dots on it 😯

Great vid keep it up
Beutefull place for pike :)
I love glidebaits, but I tend to lose alot of fish with it, so its always a sweet sour experience.
What stretch of canal you on thorne?

Pretty sure it's Dan not dom lol
@@destro1989 was gonna say exactly the same thing, there is a channel called domfishing too so maybe he’s getting the two confused
Nice video!
Perhaps thinner trebles(not smaller trebles) on the lure?

@9:30 I recognise that swim from a few RiverPiker videos 😎
Its jointed glider...make few crancks then stop...lure will make S turn...on those stops or interuptions fish will bite...bistro...

Another great video Dan shame on the one at the end of the vid mate
Do something with carl and alex would be a great vid
Can anyone answear if its a sinking or a floating glide bait
I lost a westin swim glidebait to a tree at the canal last year. Guna get it back when the leaves fall off
Great videos, still love watching them,
Got a challenge for you-
Use a savage gear burbot 25cm 75g any colour
I use them there amazing!!🥳
@@pikeandperch definitely worth it👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
