SORRY GUYS!! All links should be working now. Looks like lots of questions about how to do the joint mod...would you guys like to see a step by step process of the joint mod with the rotary tool? I blasted some bigs on the modified flow glider today 👍🏻
where can we find a moby? we have a KILLER glide bait lake trout bite here in colorado in the spring and fall and need to find something big big like that! have been using musky gliders but i want to try the jointed gliders.
Ben I think this goes without saying, but you are the best teacher/ UA-cam fisherman there is. I have truly learned how to bass fish from you and your channel. When I got to my mid 20's and some particularly bad habits I needed a positive hobby to occupy my time with. I turned to fishing and from there I started getting into bass fishing. And for 3 or 4 years I struggled. And then I started watching you tube and found your channel. You taught me how to tie fishing knots from drop shot to flipping to Carolina rigs. And Years later. You just laid down the most info/ best teaching seminar on "glide baits" that there is! You just taught me how to properly use the baits I already have and what I have been doing wrong. And I honestly want to tell you how much I appreciate and I'm sure everyone else who watches you appreciates , and enjoys all of your content and personally how much I have grown as a bass angler and that is largely because of the things you have taught me. Thank you!
Recovering addict here, thanks to kayaking/fishing. I just kept using even after multiple rehabs. Eventually decided I wanted to try things that kept me busy and happy as a child. Bass fishing was that thing. So instead of just getting myself more and more addicted I started fishing whenever I had some free time. So you are not alone. I know many others that have been down these paths and fishing has helped them improve their lives. Idk what your bad habits were but I hope all is well on your journey.
Not an addict here, but can relate to the principal you guys both speak of. I’ve got some pretty bad anger problems and last year i dove deep into bass fishing, not even from a boat yet, just from the bank, but i do it almost everyday for at least a couple hours and it truly brings me peace of mind. It really takes the edge off and helps keep me away from that tipping point. So thanks for sharing y’all’s similar but very different experiences and showing me that it applies to and helps many people in different ways. Definitely going to teach my kids young so they have a healthy outlet and maybe can avoid some of the problems that we all have struggled with whether that be anger, aggression, drugs, alcoholism, etc. Keep on fishing guys, tight lines
Jared... I'm very proud to be congratulating you on your turn in life that you're faithfully following... Just remember it's just as easy to not catch fish on small baits as it is... to not catch fish on big baits... but, be truly assured when you do finally catch a fish it's gonna be a big mama
Landed my first fish on a glide style bait today, this video helped me so much to understand the different baits and how and where to use them. It was awesome to watch the fish come up and eat such a big bait. Time stood still as she came out of the abyss showed me her whole side, mouth wide open and smoked the Glide.
Informative video easy to understand. I've been fishing for around 55 years and I've learned so much more about catching fish since I have been watching your channel. Thank you for sharing your expertise Sir.
I was struggling trying to catch fish on glides before I started watching your videos. Just the small things you do has really turned that around for me! Love your content and you’re always being yourself and not just trying to get views!
Thanks for a sip of the juice bro, just bought my first glide bait about 2 weeks ago and rather than search the tube for everyone's 2 cents this vid comes up. Mad props bro and im going to use this to slay my local spots.
Man, this video is Golden! Thank you for posting this information. I lost one expensive glide and did get discouraged. I’ll definitely give them another go now.
I’m fortunate to have been involved with Gan-Craft for 15 yrs. I’ve stood next to Butch Brown, Bill Semitel, Mike Long n Frog Man Bobby Barrack for hands n eyes on tutorial catchin fish. Thanx 4 the break down
@@richardbossman9875 Mikes a good dude with loads of knowledge. He taught me to sweep set instead of lift over your shoulders to set a swim bait bite. Changed the game for landing fish
This is a great video, we cant all afford the top $$$ Glides but we all want to be able to maximize our cheaper glides. Thanks for the "juice" on this! Thank you for always putting out the great tips/tricks and overall fishing knowledge.
This video was fantastic!! Up here in Maine we don’t throw a lot of big baits but early this summer (June) I tossed in Arashi glide near a massive sunken tree and I gave it a few twitches… Boom! A 5+ pounder freight train T-bone’d it and wasn’t coming off. Anyway, I was hooked too. Tonight I just ordered 2x Draw and 1x Flo Glide. I already have a Trace and I’ve tried chopping it with varied results. Armed with my new baits and your hot mods/tips, I’m ready to go chuckin. Thanks.
Yeah that last name Id bet your from the up in the county(Im from coastal Maine originally), untill I moved south I thought those big baits were silly, but man they work great when used correctly. Congrats on that 5 poundah bud
Thanks a lot for that one brother, that was some super valuable information that I’m sure hurt you a little bit to come off of. I’ve been struggling to gain confidence in the cheaper glidebaits that I can actually afford. This is a game changer for me. Thanks again, and hell yeah.👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Man, you are the reason I got into throwing jointed swimbaits and glide baits. My first glide bait I got was a custom painted Arashi from a friend. Caught two 5 pounders back to back on it! Thank you!!
Excellent info in this video.......I fish mostly for trophy river stripers here in East Tennessee and throw these huge glide baits in the darkness. I like the castaic and river to sea baits. Also the huddleston are good too. I only throw two patterns shad and rainbow trout. Over the years I've caught plenty of 40lbers and a few in the 50 lb class (salt water stripers from montauk and cape cod) I'm using serious $$$$ tackle, thousand dollar saltigas and stellas 100 lb braid and custom lamiglass and st croix and loomis glass rods. No boat, no kayak, just shorebound me, putting in my time, alone at rivers and lakes at 3am, thousands of casts, earning my stripes the hard way. I Love it
I like that you observed schooling fish behavior on live scope and how they reacted to the changes you made in retrieves. This is the “juice” for me, thanks!
I’ve been a follower since the beginning. Thanks for sharing a video on how to catch fish. We need more videos like this. I’m now trying to convince the wife I need a casting pool.
I like to know if you prefer tying straight to the bait or use a speed clip and if so what kind and size? I use a clip a lot just curious what your preference is. Thanks
Wow! I'm glad I stumbled onto this video. I can't tell you how many times I'll walk by a display of these glide baits, wanting to try them out....but they're expensive. And I never really knew where, when or how to fish them....and I already have hundreds of other baits/methods to fish...but I keep eyeballing them anyway, cuz I know it's one way to get after some big'n's. This video was a huge help! Thanks! Looking forward to checking out some of your other videos.
I’ve got to admit you’re one of the more knowledgeable fisherman that is so good at what you do I appreciate the tips and secrets I’m gonna add that my fishing skills thank you very much you’re a great man
You are the go to guy on the internet for glide baits or hell any other crazy slaunch slaying techniques you may have. Keep up the great work . Thanks for letting go of some of them tricks

pretty cool, i had never thrown a glide at all and just got a 6th Sense Trace. Had no idea what it was supposed to be doing in the water so this helps while I try to figure out the retrieve
im actually pretty impressed with the grind mod on that 6th sense bait really worked well. I've seen some jdm fisherman doing this with a couple different abs baits and it seems to work very well and even turn cheap baits into killer sleepers. So I might try that with one of those since there a little more budget friendly and just in case I mess up I won't be wasting much money.
Thanks for this bro! One of the more challenging things for us newer glide bait fishermen is videos on how to fish them. Some bait makers leave the joint pin exposed so you can pull out with a pair of pliers. Then you can adjust the tuning screws in or out and change the action of the bait without having to grind the actual bait with a rotary tool
This is an amazing video breaking down the difference between them. I am new to the glide baits and looked at some not knowing why they swam so different and why I couldn't gain any confidence in throwing them. some great Intel boss. knowing is half the battle!
Ben excellent video as always. A little suggestion for pool videos would be to have 2 cameras set up and do some sort of split screen so we can watch the type of retrieve/cadence you use and we can also see the action of the bait. I've been dabbling into the glide/big bait territory lately and I love but man is it expensive as hell. Also would really love to see the step by step joint mod that you do. Tight lines man.
Ya I was just waiting for a good reason to upgrade my old school corded Dremel with a new 100 piece cordless kit and that cool vise. Definitely help avoid the accidental hook set. What a kick ass mod for a big Glide bait. Thanks for the tip, good lookin’ brotha!!
I love the pool action videos! Thank you for sharing. I'm a bank beater I have been thinking about getting in to glide baits due to super pressured ponds I hit in Colorado.
I gotta say when this video started I thought "I'm not gonna like this dude" but after watching the vid I'm eating those words. Apologies for my faulty assumption. Liked and subscribed
I got a speed glide 100 i never used before for the sole fact i dont know how or where to use it. Would alot of these techniques work for that particular bait? Thanks for all the killer info.
Thanks!! I’ve been trying to figure this out and you broke it down so it’s easy to understand. Now I need a pool to practice in and be able to see the action better

Very good I bought some that are now hanging on the wall with the other stuff I don't use. I'll try this and give them another try. When do u start throwing these baits? Water temp wise
I look at them all as tools to use in different situations. You can not use a hammer to find out if your frame is level you use a level for that same with a screw you can use a screw driver to drive it into the wood but a motorized drill will put it in super fast.
The best baits are Bucca’s Shad Glides where you can tune them how you like. Wide glide or chop. I believe Phoney Frogs are this way as well featuring a pin that separates the 2 halves of the bait
Upgraded all my larger glides to st 41 owner hooks and I've been hooking alot more fish! Usually I would get strikes and not so many hook ups now it's like 6 out of 10 bites are hookups its been great!
Thanks for the information. I'm just getting into glide/swim bait fishing. I noticed that two of the three rods you recommend are fast action. I read/seen elsewhere that a moderate action rod is better suited for this type of fishing. Can you elaborate on the benefits of using a fast action rod versus a moderate action? Thanks.
Man this is so awesome you are amazing and thank you brother for sharing. You have become my favorite person to watch and to learn from on UA-cam. Keep the videos coming and stay safe on the water.
I got a question for you…I just really start d getting into throwing a glide bait using ffs and I’m wondering when you’re throwing at a piece of cover do you always see the fish or will it draw them out to where you can see them
I know this video is old but im about to go out on lake keowee and ima be throwing big baits in search of a giant spotted bass as redemption for the 6 1/2 pounder that i got terrible pictures of and didn't get measurements for a replica but this video has helped alot thank you for sharing!
Appreciate the lay out bra ya I tried a few times with the glides in the past sure I just didn’t have the right gear though I had an idea of it but little did I know but now I feel bit more confident in trying it again and really I would haven’t learnt anything of it if you didn’t share with us simple minded fish minds that just like to fish for badass bass
Dude just knowing about the the TH 316RS is a win in itself there’s no xtra juice. So much $$$$ won with this bait, $10 says he won’t touch it. Best kept on the DL.
Thanks bud!i live in Washington, and big bass here are far &few.i always catch a couple few 4-6lbsers a year.but ive seen so many monsters under docks, cruising through cover.i need a new way to trigger these smart hogs!going to give this a go!

I already knew that trick . But I didn’t realize how much you have to grind off. Awesome video!

Being able to see your lure's action. A pool is good practice for when you can't make it to the lake/pond and learning your lures.
Yes!! Great suggestion
This, right here, is why I'm a subscriber! Thanks, I WILL be adding this to my arsenal here in the Panhandle

Gancraft jointed claw is my confidence glide bait. I throw it on spotted bass lakes, but catch a lot of largemouth on it too.
FWIW, the filing, based on the physics you described earlier, was pretty obvious. Great video.
I love the pool action videos! Thank you for sharing. I'm a bank beater I have been thinking about getting in to glide baits due to super pressured ponds I hit in Colorado.

I look at them all as tools to use in different situations. You can not use a hammer to find out if your frame is level you use a level for that same with a screw you can use a screw driver to drive it into the wood but a motorized drill will put it in super fast.
That's the juice right there! I haven't seen any other glidebait video this good.
The tight glide of Chad shad is money in tight quarters, great video bro!! You just helped alot of people!
Best explanation of the big swimbaits to date. You always keep it 💯 👌🏿
The best baits are Bucca’s Shad Glides where you can tune them how you like. Wide glide or chop. I believe Phoney Frogs are this way as well featuring a pin that separates the 2 halves of the bait
I like the red solo cup that's in the water. What an amazing prop!
Thanks.
Yes i would love to see how you modified with the rotary tool.
Man this is so awesome you are amazing and thank you brother for sharing. You have become my favorite person to watch and to learn from on UA-cam. Keep the videos coming and stay safe on the water.
Do you think the glide baits would work for walleye on lake erie in the fall when they come in shallow to feed on shad at night.
I got a question for you…I just really start d getting into throwing a glide bait using ffs and I’m wondering when you’re throwing at a piece of cover do you always see the fish or will it draw them out to where you can see them
Thanks man , im using glides in the Saltwater estuaries in Australia. Thanks for the tips
Thank you for for being sponsored but not shoving only that product down our throats.
Thanks Ben! I have been wondering what I needed to do with my flow gliders to give them more action!
Man I expected more pool videos like this when you did the walkthrough. Loved it man.
Gonna definitely try the idea u shared for bass fishing this year.
Ben… you recommend a parabolic rod but a lot of the MFer rods I notice are fast action… do you still recommend a parabolic rod for this application?
Great video. Excellent explaining of different style of glide baits. Looking forward to test this out here in The Netherlands..
Been waiting on you to make a video like it this BUT with soft swimmers. Like 316 line through or hudds.
ME TOO PLEASE! Also include swimmers like Imakatsu stealth swimmer
Dude just knowing about the the TH 316RS is a win in itself there’s no xtra juice. So much $$$$ won with this bait, $10 says he won’t touch it. Best kept on the DL.
I’m not very experienced with glides when I bought the s waver and used it I knew it’s not what I was looking for. Ready to try something new.
You just changed the game for us budget swimbait guys!!!
Thanks bud!i live in Washington, and big bass here are far &few.i always catch a couple few 4-6lbsers a year.but ive seen so many monsters under docks, cruising through cover.i need a new way to trigger these smart hogs!going to give this a go!
I’ve never tried theses but after watching your video I’m thinking about giving them a try
What pound test line should you use when casting these big baits? I don't fish mine in fear of loosing them.
what is the swimbait that was up top @2:25?
Super high quality video, big ups. I dig the informational videos man keep em up.
