Excellent video dan i have had lots of success on the whopper plopper had some fantastic chub and pike on the salmo LIL BUG awesome lure thanks for posting dan some classic lures yo have stay safe dan out there, para
@@delwigzieful yeah .that is what I heard that they are amazing for chub But it seems chubs on my river are just slowly taking it from behind and not smashing it as I heard they do
ABU/svartzonker McMy in both sizes should be in every pikers lurebox, also a Guppie in one of the sizes. Jerkbaits/glidebaits with tail is my no1 catcher here in sweden, where swedish hardest pike fishing area is, is where i fish. Here it istb fish per outing, its per week and i fish ~15h a week. Some weeks nothing this strange weather year, we are having the summers warmest days right now where it should be cooler like ~15c on daytime but instead we got 27-29c and pike prefer 13c the best. A tip is a Kitchen termometer for taking waters temperature. I usually do that, to in some way track the temp and see what it correlate to. Also you can hook a small guppie/mcmy tail on almost all jerkbaits and thus create a tailglidebait or tailjerkbait out a jerkbait. Could also put on a larger tail and get a tail lure.
I find roach imitation swimbaits work best . I only use them when the water is clear but they sure do work good. Can wind them in straight retrieve or give em a twitch every few seconds . Can normally pull out a few
I would suggest hard swimbates and jerkbaits are two different categories. Jerkbaits you need to twitch the rodtip to make it move side-to-side. Hard swimbaits like westin swim goes in a S-curve on a straight retrieve without any twitching with the rod tip.
Nice one dan. Got that many lures you forget you got em and what they do and best time off yr to use em. Do like me Westin monster vibe spinner bait though. 👍🤓
@@pikeonthecanal7830 Really? Quick, call Abu Garcia immediately, tell them of this worrying news, they must stop production of the Ambassadeur. It is was first made in 1954. I guess it must just be a peice of shit. After all, I'm sure you know best.
That storm tailbait is jerkable with a jerkbait rod. I got him too, but with a normal casting rod I can’t let it glide. Since i bought a vendetta jerk rod, I’m able to let him glide.
I've always preferred using hard lures, especially for pike had more success with then, only soft lures I use for pike are frogs fishing off the surface. I use soft lures jigging for perch and zander though. That said I caught a little jack pike yesterday with a ned rig while fishing for perch.
My arithmetic must be off, anyway I have them all in spades, you missed large mepps and spoons, I fish for pike and muskie, hell I live on a muskie and pike lake and am in awe of your catches, great video as always.
I must be very sleepy but I count 4 types of lures here: Jerkbaits, paddle tails, tailbaits, jointed swimsbaits. Did I miss something?? Great vids btw😘🇩🇰
I love lure fishing but sink and draw is just so much better. Only thing is you have to deal with deadbaits and baits flying off and whatnot. But it catches so many more fish.
True but I think lure fishing is not just about how many fish you catch, it's about the experience, experiments changing tactics, locations, depth your fishing, presentation etc. Lure fishing is an art form.
@@GameCastCubed what??? size 5 mepps have been catching pike in the uk for generations? and please dont let the colorado spoon read what youve just wrote
@@GameCastCubed maybe over the past 5 years but overall the bigger mepps have more of a history in the uk than swimbaits, but thats only an opinion of mine based on the last 30 years ive spent fishing
*Great item. First cast out of the package caught a nice bass. Pulls smooth in the water and sets up nicely immediately upon retrieval. Worth adding to your tackle box.*
Hey, very good video but when you make one with rules to fish legal in uk like fishing license, club member access , equipment.... and everything you need to go for fishing
For me the savage gear cannibal is a must have! From experience it will always catch fish🤙🏼
Love the videos mate keep up the good work

What lure boxes do you use to hold the bigger lures in? I have a box out of b and m atm but doesn't hold too much. Thanks.
i know its a tad boring to say this these days in a world of jet injected swimbaits and abs plastic lures but i still use my ABU ATOM and catch plenty
