- This is my Spoiler Free Scream 6 Movie Review.
In this video, I will be reviewing the latest installment of the iconic horror series, Scream 6. After more than 25 years since the first Scream movie, fans have been eagerly waiting to see if the new film can capture the essence of the original while also bringing something new to the table. Does Scream 6 live up to the hype, or is it a tired retread of familiar tropes? Let's find out.

Man, I still can't get over how awesome that opening scene was. Easily the best opening in this franchise since the original and I'm someone who loves the opening of Scream 2 and Ghostface was beyond brutal in this.
Awesome? You mean dumb, right? In 2023 all they could come up was with the `I am lost` excuse? With smarthphones it is IMPOSSIBLE to get lost. By far one of the most suspenseful & thrilling chapters in this amazing horror franchise. The original 4 hold a special place in my love for horror & this may be my favorite behind 1 & 2. 9/10 for me. Loved the opening, the brutality throughout and these new core characters have really grown on me
I'm genuinely surprised how awesome this movie was. The directors know exactly what they're doing to honor Cravens legacy and it works so damn well. One big problem I had with Scream 5 was that it lacked tension. It felt very empty and secluded because they couldn't risk going big due to the pandemic,but boy oh boy did they give us a treat with this six installment. Even though I was spoiled before seeing it just like the previous one,I had an absolute blast. The Intensity and brutality is out of this world insane. There were so many moments where my heart was pounding out of my chest and I felt nervous and on the edge of my seat. They delivered the most memorable chase sequences that the 5th didn't offer and the New York setting made it even better. The characters are so wholesome. I care about all of them so much as if they were close family and I'm so excited to see where they take this franchise because it makes me so glad that they did something so unique and different in so many ways. The reveal was good for the most part along with the motivation,but the highlight is everything before it. It makes me so glad how consistent this franchise has been and how well they've managed. Definitely better than the fifth one without a doubt and quite possibly the best since the original. I can't wait to watch it over and over again,and I hope a 7th film is on the way.

But this movie has more survivors than any of cravens scream films and almost all of them take major stab wounds. I enjoyed it but you can’t tell me that this is the most ruthless ghostface and then have everyone live

It has been sitting at around 77-80 at RT for a while now. That's pretty dang good. It does anger me a bit that the OG has about the same though. It was, (has?) been sitting at 79% for a long time, it may have gone and stayed at 80% at least. Pretty insulting to the classic if you ask me. I really like 2, but somehow it has a higher critical score than the original....yeah no.

Saw it tonight and I liked it a lot! I was just shy of loving it though. There was just something missing that I couldn’t pin point. But overall I enjoyed it. The kills and chase sequences were definitely elevated from the previous entries , loved the relationship of Sam and Tara and the Core Four, and it was great seeing Kirby and I really enjoyed how she was utilized in the story.

I’m sorry but they literally just remade the last movie right down to the ending and added in parts of Scream 2. Maybe you got a different version but the one I saw was not original at all. Liked the New York setting, but the Scream movies are not about brutal kills. It’s a murder mystery.
Just saw the movie and I loved it. On Monday I went to the premiere of the movie and I saw Jenna Ortega, Courtney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, and the rest of the cast and crew. Even got a picture with Josh Segarra. I think I'll do a video essay about Scream some point soon.
I saw the movie on the 8th at a special double bill screening, Scream 5 and Scream 6 back to back. Absolutely loved it, one of the best sequels to date, and I liked the Friday The 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan Easter Egg. The train sequence actually surprised me at how effective it worked in the movie, when it was so heavily shown in the trailers. Just a bloody good time and I am so adding it to the collection when it comes out on Bluray.

I absolutely loved this movie. Everything about it was great. Characters from the previous more were better and expanded upon. New characters were great. Sam was especially much better here. Kirby was utilized very well. Kills were some of the best in the franchise. Might be my favorite sequel.
Better than the fifth, but my Baby Jesus plot holes and character survival that were baffling. No joke, had an eleven year old next to me questioning how one character seems to completely ignore the stab in the gut.
Yeah it almost felt satirical, which I didn't hate, but it was weird for sure

FUN FACT: Austin did you know that Mason Gooding is a legacy in Hollywood. His father is legendary Cuba Gooding Jr and his uncle is Omar Gooding was in many well-known early 90s-2000s movies and shows..... Scream will go down in history as one of the great Horror franchise of all times in my opinion!

Scream 6 was so GOOD! My goodness it was tense! On the edge of my seat throughout the movie! My theater was sold out and everyone was in to it! I went to see it for Gale, Kirby and Sam--imo the BIG THREE! Not a fan of Tara--never really cared for her! And I definitely don't care for Mindy or (eye candy) Chad--I was never a fan of Randy! Overall, I give Scream 6 8.5/10! The killer reveal was meh, but overall good! Hoping Neve Campbell returns in the next installment! And I'm glad Sidney was mentioned in the movie too! I want to see Patrick Dempsey return so Mark and Sidney can be on-screen again together with their family and fight off Ghostface!
The killers didn't even kill anyone in the final act
My only real complaint is that some of these characters definitely should not have survived what happened to them. Other than that this movie was so much fun. Probably my second favorite (behind the original) in the entire franchise

I may be in the minority but this one fell flat for me and they missed genuine opportunities to make it great. I was highly disappointed with how predictable it was as well as how it just felt off target and at some points forced.

I really enjoyed this movie. It didn’t totally feel like a Scream movie but in a good way. I like where this franchise is going.

I mostly liked it but the things some characters survive are way more ridiculous than any of the other movies and I hated some of the jokes/lines. It feels like the creative team spends way too much time online. That being said I like the new cast, it has a lot of heart, the kills were great, it was nice to get chase scenes again and I liked the motive way more than scream 5. I do wish Gale had been used more and hadn’t regressed but at least Kirby was handled well.

This is probably one of my least favorites of the sequels, but I still think it’s great! I guess that’s a testament to the consistency of this franchise. Honestly this could’ve been the best sequel if not for some of the silly stuff in the third act.
Man...I really don't get this one. I thought it was pretty predictable and dull. Possibly the weakest of the franchise imo.

I watched it today and WOW it was absolutely incredible. It was so soooo good I’m not over how good it was. It’s one of my favourite Scream movies and my favourite movie of this year so far. There was so much action and the kills were the best kills yet and intense. My favourite character is definitely Kirby. I’m very happy that she is back. And she’s so hot 😍 Hayden Panettiere is so talented. I love her so much, amazing actress and she’s absolutely stunning. She is perfect as Kirby, Kirby is iconic. And I also love Gale and Mindy, and Sam and Tara. I literally love all the characters except for the killers. And I missed Sidney and Dewey since they are amazing but the movie was still so so good and I can’t wait to watch it a second time 🔥 I loved Jenna Ortega in it too. She’s such a good actress. So in my opinion I give Scream 6 a 9.5/10, excellent movie

Definitely better than Scream 5, I am really happy with the time jump from Scream 4 to 5 because I had not seen any of them but I really wanted to see this movie in theatres so I only watched 1 & 5 and I am really happy I did that, because I enjoyed this movie a lot!
this is by far the best scream movie since the OG.
By the end of this movie I was legit confused who was alive and who died lol. Scream has always been king of the fake deaths but this movie took it Next level .

I think the script has some amazing ideas too, but overall I just don’t like the way they’re directing this. You can really feel Wes behind the camera in the others, and that’s such a high bar to set, but how are you going to have so many close up shots when you have written such creative sequences in the script, like cmon man. You have set up perfectly so many things, and then barely stick the landing, idk. Two steps back in my opinion, but still a very well made movie. Personally I’m feeling 3 stars out of 5 on this one. It’s very frustrating

I loved this scream and actually think it was a better movie then scream 5 because although I didn’t think scream 5 had a bad storyline I thought this one has a lot better one in terms of originality in comparison to past screams and also logic in terms of answering questions viewers would have and making sure the storyline maybe not as whole for some people but for me at least made since in totality.
I also liked this one better because the ghost faces especially the curly headed boy who I assume was the one doing the most killing was so ruthless and malicious.
My biggest gripe with the film was the relationship between chad and Tara because in scream 5 they definitely seemed throughout the movie to not dislike each other but for them to not connect much throughout scream 5 but to be two people that were extremely interested in each other and from the looks of it may have even communicated to one and another that they liked each other seemed weird to me and also Tara having so much interest in the guy at the party while drunk and even to a good deal while sobered down shows that Tara didn’t have much interest in Chad and chad not implicating he’s as concerned about Tara not for intimate related reasonings but solely for her well being and because other members of the core 4 told advised him to go put a stop to them going up stairs implied he didn’t just lack intimate interest in her but didn’t have any at all in Tara.
I might be the first to say this but who knows? Scream is the "terminator franchise" of horror. If you don't know exactly what I mean, feel free to respond and I'll explain but it should be pretty straightforward.

Watching it in Singapore with the most boring crowd and smallest screen really sucks.
The main case must had some super powers, Because they would get brutally stabbed multiple times but survive, And this happened multiple times in this movie, One person get brutally stabbed on a train, But shows up like 1hr later walking around like nothing ever happened🤔

I chose to skip this movie. I didn’t like the the last movie. I didn’t want to see Courtney Cox meet same ending that Dewy did. Chances are Sydney will die in the next movie. I don’t care for the new characters.

The ‘Ghostface gets got’ trope is just annoying at the point. Ruined the unpredictable nature of this film.
Significantly better than Scream 2022
I have mixed feelings with this one it had some of the best moments in scream but didn't like the ending and how all the main characters could survive getting stabbed like crazy felt stupid and a lot of logic issues.
Use logic to realize that the movie just came out, so probably shouldn’t be spoiling the movie

@@russian5470 that’s stupid because most movie reviews come out the day the movie is released or a few days before its in theaters lol. This was just a review of the movie but it wasn’t a “spoiler review” or else it’d have been mentioned in the title
This was easily the worst installment for me. I thought it was incredibly dull, I couldn't stand the characters and the final "reveal" had to be the most underwhelming and anticlimactic of the whole franchise.
After the way Richie was acting in Scream 5, it was a little too obvious that Ethan was one of the killers. He even resembled his brother. I also knew that the Detective was in on it by how much he was looking into Kirby. When he had crocodile tears and told Sam, “you mess with my family and you die” it sealed the deal for me. The Saw movies taught me that you have to take what characters say literally sometimes.

Honestly the new one isn’t bad it’s just not as good as the last one, and I don’t really like who the killers are to be honest. Hated how the killers became dumb/weak at the end too, same with Chad, like honestly he could’ve killed one of them multiple times but didn’t. Also pretty stupidly unbelievable how the twins got stabbed multiple times and survived, same with Jenna Ortega character who got stabbed in the back and in the stomach and walked perfectly fine at the end of the movie. Tbh the third act was all over the place but at least the movie was pretty brutal for the most part, with good jump scares, even though I don’t get scared like that in horror movies I did jumped only once when Gale got attacked (also Gale sucks in this movie like normally in this franchise), 6/10 for me.

I have a good question about this movie. How didn't Sam's boyfriend see the faking death of Tara and Sam's roommate? He was literally looking through the window the whole time, and had a good view of her. Was he the one who sent the recording of her and GF? I just feel like he's even more suspicious, and will be a ghost face in the next movie.
I think the text came from GF or Quinn. Since I don’t think the bf had all their numbers. Maybe they did a fake stabbing scene for the bf watching, like Billy did in Scream 1 for Sidney to see?
