getting gutted like a pig to be 100% healthy at the end of a movie in span of half an hour was really realistic... it helps that it happend with 4 different characters that all were equipped with that thick plot armour.
Probably just a trivial thing, but I also wondered why everyone was wearing Halloween themed outfits for what felt like three days haha.... last time I checked Halloween was just the one day in October. Also, Danny miraculously pulling out a full length ladder that just so happened to conveniently be in his tiny high rise apartment I found unintentionally hilarious
I was thinking the same thing when they revealed the killer at the beginning. I was so intrigued by it but that being said I still absolutely loved this movie. So tense and so enjoyable
I mean it was still pretty intriguing even though I was sure they weren't going for it, but it would just feel like an episode of Columbo or Poker Face if it's a Scream movie
I really like the idea of knowing who one killer is because you're still going to be trying to figure out who's going to get got & when and if there's another killer.
One hundred percent I mean I thought the payoff of the shock when ghostface kills the revealed killer was actually better than if we knew the identity for the entire movie but I do agree that if done correctly Chris’s idea could be a cool #7..
I've been saying this for so long. I want a Scream movie where the audience knows the killer before the main character and every time they interact, we get so angry because we want them to find out so bad.
you gonna take a who dun it franchise and take out the mystery... the big point of these movies is you can figure out the killers before the main characters and also you can just watch it a second time to get the experinece you want
Chris, I love you, but I've seen so many people say that this is the first Scream movie to not take place in Woodsboro, and now you too 😂. Scream 2 took place in the fictional Windsor College in Ohio and 3 took place in Los Angeles, why do people forget that? Anyway, I really liked this movie and I love your videos, keep up the good work!
Spoiler: Gale’s fight with Ghostface was insane! Such a tense scene and they faked out her death about 3 times in the span of 5 minutes and I was so nervous for her
@@maloperverso8118 No, along with the medics saying she had a faint pulse, when the cops came after all was said & done if I remember correctly Danny said that Gale & Mindy were gonna be fine.
i loved all the homages to scream 2. there were sooo many callbacks spoilers!!! - gale finally getting the call meant for her that she was supposed to take in scream 2. great scene aside from the stupid decisions they made her character make - characters see news on t.v and make the assumption that they’re in for a part 2 of what happened in the previous film even if the connection feels minimal - takes place while our protagonists are in college now - the new boyfriend, the new roommate, the killer hidden in plain sight whose authority makes you think they’re probably good (detective bailey). plus the new boyfriend being the main red herring. surprise! they were just an awesome, caring boyfriend all along - the finale taking place at a theater. plus the story beat of having one character get shot and put out of commission until the end where they finish off the final ghostface (gale in the first film and kirby in the new one) - the killers being related to the previous killer. billy loomis and mrs. loomis / richie kirsch and detective baile. parental bond being the motive - chad (dewey) surviving multiple stab wounds and being wheeled out at the end of the movie. they really are making chad the new heart of the franchise. wouldn’t be surprised if he has an irreversible injury in the third movie similar to dewey’s spinal injury - “didn’t see that one coming did ya” when quinn was revealed. mickey said the same thing about mrs. loomis - the main character walks away from the crime scene while the camera pans out for a big long shot - a new blossoming romance between two of the main characters and their kiss scene being interrupted by ghostface - i believe this is the only scream movie besides 2 where there’s an opening kill that doesn’t take place in someone’s home i’ve probably missed a lot of others. i’ll keep adding as i come up with more. feel free to leave similarities you noticed as well!
@@elizabeth7sj222 the directors said they have plans to make another film but there’s no set date for that yet. and plus i feel like they were setting a lot of stuff up for a third film with this one. especially with how they let so many characters live in this one. we’re bound to see a lot of returning character deaths in the next entry. they made a big emphasis on the core four. one of them has to die in the next film for that payoff they set up in this movie
I think it's a decent sequel, I definitely had fun with it. I thought the opening was terrible and super contrived, then when the killer took off his mask I was very intrigued. Until the real Ghostface revealed himself to the first killer and killed him off, I thought that was super ingenious!
It's strange to me that people say this is the first movie out of Woodsboro when 3 out of the 6 films in the franchise are not in that town. That being said, I hated the last one and this one was amazing. That scene with the ladder? That was insane. This movie gave the franchise a whole new life. I would gladly watch a new Scream movie each year if it's as good as this one.
Even Jenna Ortega made this mistake, it was really embarrassing. I think it'd be one thing if this were only the second time the characters weren't in Woodsboro, but dang... it's the third time.
I’m so glad Chris agrees that there’s never been a “Bad” Scream movie, You might not like scream 3 or 4 but it’ll never be as objectively bad as something like “Freddys Dead” or “Jason X” All the Scream movies are completely rewatchable to me and I’ve always loved every single one of them.
@@Nicholas_Chen_ that’s why I said “Objectively” I actually really enjoy Jason X but most people would say otherwise, people like us see the entertainment value In a movie where Jason goes to space and turns into a cybernetic organism, if that’s not entertaining I don’t know what is 💯
Scream 3 might not be as cringe as Freddy's Dead at it's worst, but Scream 3 commits a potentially greater film sin. Its boring. Wes was checked our when making that movie and it shows.
Scream 3 is my 2nd fav and 6 is now my 3rd fav. Considering everything scream 3 went thro, with leaks, cast, the shootings etc. I think (yes its more tame) it turned out great for what they had to work with. It was so funny too, i mean Posey and Cox duo was perfect and the maureen scenes haunting Sidney were so creepy at the time. The twist ending with Roman being Sids half bro and the fight between them was fantastic. I absolutely love it. Imo of course, we can't all like the samethings, boring world if we did 😴 😉
One of Hitchcock's best films is "Rope" where you know who the killers are the whole movie and you spend the movie watching someone else figure out they did it. I would love to see that in the scream franchise!
I saw this while cosplaying as Randy Meeks. My theater staff loved my outfit (and willingness to nerd out over horror) so much that I got a fan poster they had leftover from the Thursday Fan Event I missed. Great movie experience for a great movie.
What I LOVED most about this film is that Ghostface is relentless. Most of the time there's no clumsiness nor visual gags, it's just a savage killer on a mission. That being said, I felt the reveal was not that strong, but maybe if I also watch it a second time I might enjoy it. It's one of my favorite sequels for sure and I'm glad they have already greenlit Scream VII.
He could do a better job hitting those vital organs though... there was at least 3 people that should of died but he somehow missed all their vitals each time as they acted like nothing happened.
It wasn't the first Scream out of Woodsboro, that was Scream 3! This new instalment was gorgeous! I loved everything about it: actors, cinematography, the gore, the plot twists, absolutely everything! Scream 5 was a requel of the very 1st movie (same house, boyfriend killer, etc) and Scream 6 is a requel of the 2nd movie (final act in a theatre, killer/relative of the previous killer, etc), they have a formula and that works pretty well!
I wonder what they will do with 7. I think they should do a requel with 3 because 3 has such amazing ideas all over the film but weren't executed well, so 7 would be a great way to pay tribute and really fulfil the true potential of 3
Windsor College, while not filmed in the state, is in Ohio I think. I can’t recall if it was said in the movie or whatnot, but I feel like I heard someone say that. Only 1, 4, and 5 take place in Woodsboro, so about half the series.
Honestly the idea of another scream movie knowing who the killer is the whole time would be a good change for scream to keep the franchise going. Scream is very self aware of itself being a cheesy yet real horror movie. With them even mentioning the theory of Stu being alive in the movie, that would be a good installment. A movie focused on Stu (the OG ghostface) coming back for one last kill. An older more mature and broken Stu performed by Matthew Lillard
I saw Scream 6 3 days ago with my older brother and we both loved it. Easily one of my favorite scream sequels still doesn’t top 2 imo but respect anyone who disagrees with me. Also sidenote Chris I’m from NYC live over here my entire life and the final act of the movie the whole audience including me & my brother were going crazy. Easily one of the best movie theaters experiences I ever had.
i absolutely loved the character development of the core 4 in this movie, that dinner scene in the apartment before that really intense ladder chase sequence was great for their characters
it was really enjoyable to watch especially if you seen the older movies. watching the film during opening night was such an experience. I’m looking forward to Scream 7!
5 and 6 have been modern day movie trash. Shit acting, shit plot, and a complete dumbing down of was a great movie franchise. It's okay to have your opinion about it but just know you like a really bad couple of movies. I won't be back to read what you have to say so just tell yourself your clever return and enjoy. I'm sure it will be just as shit as these movies are.
I completely agree with your last take on knowing who the ghostface killer is the entire movie. I actually thought they would head that way except only let you know one of the killers. Then you still have a mystery trying to figure out who else is helping him.
I would like a scream movie from the perspective of Samantha… as ghost face. Consistently my favourite parts of Scream (including the original Scream) was when they embraced (idrk what to call it) embraced the killer instinct. In the original I liked how Prescot screwed with Billy and Loomis by putting on the ghost face outfit and calling Billy and Stu. In Scream five and six I thoroughly enjoy whenever Billy talks with his daughter, always stand out scenes to me. I liked it in five when Samantha brutalised Ricky (I think that’s his name iirc) and I liked it in Seven when she once again put on the outfit of her father and stabbed the dude. I honestly thought Samantha was the one who killed those two dudes in the beginning because it made sense to me (at the time, my opinion obviously changed as I watched).
Had a blast with this one, felt like they managed to take in a lot of the criticisms of 5 and improve with more chase scenes and character dynamics while still coming out just over a year later which is very impressive. Some of the best kills in the franchise after the original in my opinion.
Fingers crossed Kevin Williamsam helps write with them for scream 7. The dream team baby! Rip Wes ❤ These new directors and writers nailed it out the park as well but come on now ! Kevin is a BEAST!
I loved this movie, and love this video. Small correction though, this is the third Scream not to take place in Woodsboro. Scream 2 was at a college campus that wasn't Woodsboro, and Scream 3 was in Los Angeles
I felt like the ending was a bit of a missed opportunity after all the build up they had paying homage to all the previous instalments, but overall I think it was the second best film of the franchise. So much stuff that’s completely new and fresh for the series while still delivering on all the standard scream goodness
To me one of the most amazing scenes is how they were able to introduce great characters that feel fresh in a franchise that's been running for so long. I really love what they did with Sam, as her inner darkness really makes her stand out among other characters. I think she's really well written and the execution (seeing Billy in the reflections) is just fun to watch. I watched this movie in a packed theater and you could see from their reactions that they were having lots of fun.
I was hoping for the exact same thing during that opening scene! Scream is the absolute perfect franchise for a concept like that too, since almost every film has multiple killers. That would let them still have the mystery of who the co-conspirators are, and might even deepen it if we're seeing everyone the revealed Ghostface is interacting with.
Bit of a spoiler I guess, but my biggest problem with the movie is the park scene where they are trying to track ghostface, and they figure out that he is in the same location as Gale, so Sam and Tara jump in a police car to go and warn Gale. When they are in the park it's daytime, but when it cuts to Gale, it's dark outside. Why did it take so long for Sam and Tara to call Gale? Did I miss something?
I was hoping you'd review this. I was insanely sceptical going into this due to no Neve Campbell nor David Arquette, but I was blown away and it's my favourite Scream sequel so far.
You are my go to channel for movie reviews! I thought Scream 6 was really entertaining but the amount the injuries that the characters had during this movie would've definitely hurt them a lot more. It actually became comical after awhile where people in the theater were laughing and making comments like "no way they are still alive" Some had multiple stab wounds and they were walking around normal even making gestures of pain. Just my opinion but keep the great content coming, Thanks!
“This is the first in the franchise to not take place in Woodsboro” *Scream 2 and 3 stand agawk at that statement* PART 3: DUDE I AM LITERALLY HOLLYWOOD!!!
I think it would have been cool if Sam was a 4th ghost face and she knew all about them being Ritchie’s family the whole movie & knew their plan. She then slowly picks them off one by one throughout the movie and reveals at the end she knew all along and kills the detective then reveals the truth to the Core Four! 😅 idk maybe too convoluted but it def would have been something different
Chris, that a rebours idea for S7 is genius! Scream is probably the only series that holds up so good and still going strong. I am very happy that I was able to watch this and the previous part in the cinema, my first Screams not on tv.
I saw the 4DX experience and although the 3D sucked the 4DX effects were amazing! I got water splashed on me during the bloody scenes, I got poked in the back when someone got stabbed in the back, the seats jumped with jump scares, lights flashed when guns fired, and the seats vibrated when the phones rang
Yeah I saw the 4DX version too, really noticed the blood splatters and phone calls. Think I forgot it was 3D halfway through. Thought the ladder scene might have made more use of the 3D.
Scream 3 takes place primarily in Hollywood. With Sydnee in hiding at the time, I'm not even sure they spend any time in Woodsboro. This isn't the first movie set elsewhere.
I definitely agree on the idea that it would be fun to see Ghostface’s identity early on and throughout a movie. I’m not sure if you’re aware but this idea was one a lot of fans kept throwing out there so I feel like them doing that and also killing the character off in the opening was their way of honouring that and subverting the expectations of what the audience wanted. I’d say similarly goes to the crowd of people wanting Stu to be alive and back as the killer (saying he couldn’t have been dead from the TV attack), they play on that loud commentary by a character actually wondering if she believes he’s dead or not and also eventually having a characters last moments being crushed by a TV as well, which to me at least felt like a nod to the fans and also dispelling their theories, though I could be wrong. I kind of like that this movie interacted with the audience that was trying to manifest ideas into it by alluding to them and then going a different route. For me watching the opening I also felt excited and was equally as surprised when it turned out they ended up being another victim.
I saw somewhere that originally Jill was supposed to survive Scream 4 and another Ghost Face would pop up in Scream 5 to reveal her secret and it was gonna be a Ghost Face Vs. Ghost Face type deal, according to Kevin Willianson. But Craven passing kinda threw a wrench in that idea. That would've been awesome to see.
I want to travel to an alternate universe where that’s how the series continued. Would’ve been so cool if the ghost face hunting Jill ended up being Kirby somehow
Not the first to take place outside of woodsboro, Scream 3 was in Hollywood and 2 was a college outside of woodsboro. Love you Chris! Looking forward to your movie
5:18 that almost gives a twist to the Knives Out story, I’d love for that to occur, whereby it’s one killer that we know from the start, but turns out that there’s 2 at the mid point, and in the third act the 2nd killer is revealed to be Samantha, 2 killers working unilaterally but everyone else assumes that there are working together. Alternatively you could go very closely with the knives out formula and have Samantha be the killer at the start, we find out and watch as we assume that by the end she will be revealed to be the killer, but turns out there is another killer. Perhaps we as the audience think she is having dissociative episodes where she doesn’t remember killing people but it turns out to be someone else entirely.
Scream I feel has been consistently good. I was already really hyped for this movie just off the teaser alone. And I got to meet skeet ulrich, Neve Campbell, Matthew lillard, and Jaime Kennedy the weekend before. I totally enjoyed this installment. Had me on the edge of my seat, hopefully Neve Campbell returns and the hint at a certain character maybe coming back? 👀
Damn the amount of people who got stabbed, and then being completely alright in less than a day was Wolverine like healing factor. This movie looked nice but it turned into a Soap Opera, CW Show, and the main characters had so much plot armor that a bullet would have bounced off their heads. It also has way too many female characters and most of the male characters were complete idiots.
I really enjoyed this movie. This is my second favorite outside of the first. I find Ghostface to be so horrifying in this one, and the fact that you don’t know if legacy characters are worth keeping alive anymore just keeps you on edge
Seems like they're not actually willing to kill anyone off though, considering how many fake-outs there were 😭 That's one of my only wishes, that they get a little bit more brutal with killing major characters. Half the charm of the Scream films is getting a new cast with each film anyway
I would love that concept for a scream 7 - knowing who the killer is….so long as I have zero idea who is going to get killed at any time, even when it seems obvious. As in Feast 1, where the traditional hero has a…different role or in Hostel where the jock survives. Please do play with us and with the idea of the horror of not knowing
Your review always brings up the most unique points, I especially like the ALIENS and Ripley comparison, which I always compare Scream 2 to as, which Scream 6 modelled itself after as well. They really GOATed with the new films. The Scream franchise has now truly risen above all horror franchises as the most consistent horror franchise.
A lot of people seem to really hate the third act to this movie. Personally, I love it. It’s fun, it builds on the events of the previous movie, and it furthers Sam’s internal conflict.
The killer reveal sort of fell flat but when u think about the concept and motive which aligns with scream 2 the ending is pretty dope. They could have executed certain scenes a lil better thruought the film imo. Film gets better with second viewing. Its scream so expectations are high!
My guy scream 2 was set out of Woodsboro in college and scream 3 was set in Hollywood California. This is not the first scream movie away from woodsboro 😂
ALTERNATE ENDING SCENARIO. I posted this on a couple channels, let me know what you guys think. Scream VI has probably the most ruthless Ghostface but most horrible killers with them repeating the motive from Scream 2. The Killers of this one should have been a reflection of the carpenter sisters. It all could have changed if they just had two Ghostfaces in New York working separately with two entirely different agendas. Kirby & Ethan. Kirby a Ghostface hunting down Stab fanatics. Her punishing all copycat killers who worship the death of her friends would be strongly supported by the opening kills, the deaths of two Stab fanatics. Actually giving credit to the line: "WHO GIVES A F#@K! ABOUT MOVIES?!" Kirby wants the Stab craze to die, just as much as Tara does. Kirby telling Tara there is no way out and that this is her life now, but Tara telling her it may be her life, but Kirby made it her prison before killing her. Ethan a Ghostface, just as deranged as Richie and Amber were, but just much more quiet and disturbing. He doesn't care about Stab, he doesn't know why he's in college, and he doesn't even know why he kills. It was just something he got away with once in New York, and just kind of got addicted to it... He puts on the mask, and it's like he can finally scratch that itch that he keeps getting. He tells Sam, she's the only one that can relate to him. Slicing someone's skin for the first time and wondering when they'll ever get the chance to do it again. Sam agrees that she is a psycho too, but she's also a sister, a daughter, a friend, a girlfriend, and a survivor. And he's nothing, nothing but a killer, before she kills him. Just my take. Please let me know what you guys think if this was the ending we could got.
Had a blast with this one, and I think I liked it even more on second viewing. The one issue I have is some of the plot armor. You can tell they were hesitant to kill off many major characters.
Scream has been commentating on horror so long that it’s begun to engrain it’s own tropes and rules that have never been broken. I’d love Scream 7 to really change up the franchise, while keeping the bones of what makes it great.
I know a Scream movie is good when I walk out of the first viewing wanting to see it again. I've also seen it twice. It will be interesting to see what they do with a potential 7th film.
Scream 6 is the best Scream movie since the first and was a great theatre experience and again, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera were the stand out performances for me.
I hate that they keep making Scream movies! BUT I also Love them hahaha. I loved this one, it was so good. Opening up with all the blood and gore too and just intense chase and gun shooting and all, ugh I just Loved it. Lol. 🖤 I honestly already guessed the main killer as soon as he stepped into the scene haha. But I also kinda thought it might be Haydyn too lol. I wish I could see this one again. This to me is one of those movies where I want to watch it with other people just so I can see their reactions. Lol. 🍿
Two things…First thing, it is eluded to why Scream 5 is called Scream, IN SCREAM 5. (The directors and writers will echo that in interviews). Secondly, this is the 3rd Scream, not the first, to take place outside of Woodsboro.
@@mikec7664 To be fair, I was way too young when the movie came out... I dont have a nostalgic connection. My first movie was scream 2. I really liked it.. it was my favorite before 6
@@robbiedamascus I wasn't born when dawn of the dead or halloween came out in 1978 but still think they're the best of their franchise/remakes. 🤷♂️ 2 is a classic too. My second favorite after the original.
My biggest issue was the last act. No main characters died and apparently getting stabbed multiple times with a 6 inch blade just isn’t shit. I don’t think anyone other than a killer died in the last act. I think the studio played way to safe in that regard. Other than that great movie. It take me out a bit tho. Gale shrugs off being stabbed, girl on the train shrugs it off, guy in the movie theater shrugs off being brutalized. kirby shrugs off being shot at.
As a long time fan of Jenna I’m so happy seeing all the success she’s been getting she’s so humble, down to earth, intelligent, talented, witty, Caring, and not to mention one of the most beautiful women in the world with a beautiful soul, I can’t think of anyone else who deserves it more than her, She is such and amazing person and actress and when you hear her talk about acting you can see how much love and passion she has for it and making films in general, And I can guarantee you 100% Jenna Ortega will be one of the biggest Names and actors in the world and industry In the future and she will win a Academy Award or multiple of them and many many more other prestigious awards, She is already so incredibly talented and I can’t wait to see her career blossom and grow and she what she dose in the future, Maybe producing and Directing Films and TV and I’ll be rooting for her and watching whatever she’s in or a part of in anyway and supporting her. ❤️
Do people really still not get that calling Scream 5 just Scream was the joke? It was making fun of Requels that call themselves the same name as the original
I cant understand why any of you liked this movie, it was terrible, the choices they made didnt make sense and that you can walk of stabbings like it was mosquito-bite.. How.. I understand its a scream movie. But this is terrible.
I thought that Samantha was going to be put into a loony bin by the therapist and while she was in there she was going to run into Stu who walks her through every kill as it happens as if he’s the mastermind behind this one.
After the letdown that was Scream (2022) I was immensely surprised how good Scream VI (2023) turned out to be! I even watched it a second time! It's amazing!
A nitpick, sure, but why are so many people (who should know better) saying it’s the first Scream outside of Woodsboro? S2 was at Windsor College in Ohio and S3 was in Hollywood.
There was one line said by a character as they were talking to Sam which hinted at them being involved. I won't spoil it but when you see it you will understand. I do wonder why some characters within the franchise do not die.
This particular Scream was incredible!! I see now how the 5th one's style and different change of pace, legacy of Billie Loomis creating almost a more expanded universe and dimension! I FUCK with this one it got the 7.4 IMBD it deserved! BTW The theorist character I freaking love LOVE! FYI you guys I'm getting into filmmaking as well, I'm doing the story board art, music for background for a really awesome superhero I'm destined and excited to get out to the world. Something fresh and unique I came up with. Chris your reviews seeing the hilariocities and the normal reviews helped me know what to do and not do to write good and even great movies my guy! :D Mental notes I've taken from the past 4 years man seriously thank you!
I loved the first Scream when I watched it way too young years ago. I continue to love the way they're going with this franchise. I just hope the winning streak continues because I desperately want Scream to be one of the most consistent movie franchises (let alone horror franchises) ever made.
I genuinely think that in Scream 7 Sam will be a or the Ghostface. My expectation is that they have established that someone will always put on the mask, so Sam takes it up herself - killing others who would put on the mask. Basically carrying out your expectation from Scream 6's opening, and assuming that the powers that be offer Neve enough money, you bring it home with Sam facing off against and being defeated by Syd after Sam gives herself over too far to the darkness - then you take a nice decade long break and introduce a new, new cast with now two tiers of legacy characters
Windsor college in Scream 2 wasn’t in woodsboro, was it? And 3 took place in Hollywood! I feel like we’ve got so many people saying this is the first scream to leave woodsboro that I believed it myself!
My proudest moment of my life. 10 mins into the movie before Quinn "dies" right after Sam gets called from Richies phone I looked at my wife and said "Richie is this guy's dead son and her dead brother" 2nd best scream movie for sure.
Just a little correction, this wasn't the first movie to take place outside of woodsborough. It was the third movie to do so, as the second took place in Windsor College, and the third one took place in Hollywood. 🙂
This has always been my favorite scary movie franchise since I was a kid, I like what they’re doing with each movie. They’re entertaining and I think that’s fun in these movies, scary and fun to watch lol
I kinda want a Ghostface who doesn't get identified or who gets away with it and I could totally see the 7th one being the final one and split as a part 1 and part 2
Basically, it IS called Scream 5. But the V being the Romain numeral is hidden in there in the M. I think they were kinda afraid to give it a number since most franchises used to do that.
the greatest thing about this franchise was introducing it to my friends. i had seen them all and made them watch the first one and they were HOOKED! just watched the 6th one last week. lie someones other comment had said this is easily the best horror franchise

i loved all the homages to scream 2. there were sooo many callbacks
spoilers!!!
- gale finally getting the call meant for her that she was supposed to take in scream 2. great scene aside from the stupid decisions they made her character make
- characters see news on t.v and make the assumption that they’re in for a part 2 of what happened in the previous film even if the connection feels minimal
- takes place while our protagonists are in college now
- the new boyfriend, the new roommate, the killer hidden in plain sight whose authority makes you think they’re probably good (detective bailey). plus the new boyfriend being the main red herring. surprise! they were just an awesome, caring boyfriend all along
- the finale taking place at a theater. plus the story beat of having one character get shot and put out of commission until the end where they finish off the final ghostface (gale in the first film and kirby in the new one)
- the killers being related to the previous killer. billy loomis and mrs. loomis / richie kirsch and detective baile. parental bond being the motive
- chad (dewey) surviving multiple stab wounds and being wheeled out at the end of the movie. they really are making chad the new heart of the franchise. wouldn’t be surprised if he has an irreversible injury in the third movie similar to dewey’s spinal injury
- “didn’t see that one coming did ya” when quinn was revealed. mickey said the same thing about mrs. loomis
- the main character walks away from the crime scene while the camera pans out for a big long shot
- a new blossoming romance between two of the main characters and their kiss scene being interrupted by ghostface
- i believe this is the only scream movie besides 2 where there’s an opening kill that doesn’t take place in someone’s home
i’ve probably missed a lot of others. i’ll keep adding as i come up with more. feel free to leave similarities you noticed as well!

Yeah, people are REALLY not doing their research on that one, it's a bit embarrassing honestly

Jason X is actually really entertaining lol
Agreed. Easily the best horror franchise.
LOVE Rope!
I saw this while cosplaying as Randy Meeks. My theater staff loved my outfit (and willingness to nerd out over horror) so much that I got a fan poster they had leftover from the Thursday Fan Event I missed.
Great movie experience for a great movie.
That’s pretty awesome!
Sounds cool as hell
its okay
What I LOVED most about this film is that Ghostface is relentless. Most of the time there's no clumsiness nor visual gags, it's just a savage killer on a mission. That being said, I felt the reveal was not that strong, but maybe if I also watch it a second time I might enjoy it.
It's one of my favorite sequels for sure and I'm glad they have already greenlit Scream VII.
He could do a better job hitting those vital organs though... there was at least 3 people that should of died but he somehow missed all their vitals each time as they acted like nothing happened.
The reveal was pretty weak. I thought everyone was suspicious but hard to guess a fake death killer u know...
Scream 2 also wasn’t in Woodsborough. It was in ‘Windsor College’
Actually Scream 2 was the first out of woodsboro
I wonder what they will do with 7. I think they should do a requel with 3 because 3 has such amazing ideas all over the film but weren't executed well, so 7 would be a great way to pay tribute and really fulfil the true potential of 3
Windsor College, while not filmed in the state, is in Ohio I think. I can’t recall if it was said in the movie or whatnot, but I feel like I heard someone say that. Only 1, 4, and 5 take place in Woodsboro, so about half the series.
That is just lazy and redundant. Stop making excuses for them just re-making the old movies but worse.
Yeeeees, “Stu lives”!!

I completely agree with your last take on knowing who the ghostface killer is the entire movie. I actually thought they would head that way except only let you know one of the killers. Then you still have a mystery trying to figure out who else is helping him.
Yes! I was also so excited for a Scream movie from the perspective of Ghostface. They absolutely need to do that in the future. My heart was racing.

Rip Wes ❤
These new directors and writers nailed it out the park as well but come on now ! Kevin is a BEAST!
Yes. I felt Scream 5 was weak. They “fixed” the aspects I didn’t care for with Scream 6.
I loved this movie, and love this video. Small correction though, this is the third Scream not to take place in Woodsboro. Scream 2 was at a college campus that wasn't Woodsboro, and Scream 3 was in Los Angeles
There’s has never been a bad Scream movie. I honestly love all of them so much!
Well considering 5 and 6 are both really terrible, I'd say you're very wrong
I felt like the ending was a bit of a missed opportunity after all the build up they had paying homage to all the previous instalments, but overall I think it was the second best film of the franchise. So much stuff that’s completely new and fresh for the series while still delivering on all the standard scream goodness
Anticlimactic.
And maybe one of the Ghostfaces could be Killed early/er in the Film, or Captured, to see what the other Ghostface(s) would do then.....
"Scream 6 was the first to take place outside of Woodsboro."
Scream 2 (in Ohio) and Scream 3 (in Hollywood): And I took that personally.

Probably a deleted scene somewhere in between, but yea they take forever lol.
I REALLY enjoyed this movie. The franchise is great 😊
Saw this having never seen the previous five films and I really enjoyed it. The kills were relentless and absolutely brutal.
What?! You need to watch the original at least
“This is the first in the franchise to not take place in Woodsboro”
*Scream 2 and 3 stand agawk at that statement*
PART 3: DUDE I AM LITERALLY HOLLYWOOD!!!
idk maybe too convoluted but it def would have been something different
Chris, that a rebours idea for S7 is genius! Scream is probably the only series that holds up so good and still going strong. I am very happy that I was able to watch this and the previous part in the cinema, my first Screams not on tv.
That subway scene, perhaps one of my newest favorite horror scenes of all time, really fun movie, with a great cast.

Scream VI is a LOT like Scream 2 & 3 as well. They did so good.
2,3 and 6 all take place outside of Woodsboro.
That would still be a really cool movie concept even outside the Scream franchise.

@@lightdarksoul2097 yeah they were all really cool and nice. It was a dope experience

@LeeSaxophonebeast Yeah, fair enough. Hope they up the slaughter in 7 though! lol
Most consistent? Scream 5 and especially this new one are terrible.
A lot of people seem to really hate the third act to this movie. Personally, I love it. It’s fun, it builds on the events of the previous movie, and it furthers Sam’s internal conflict.
When people say they hate the third act, they're talking about the amount of plot armor and the underwhelming antagonist reveal.
ABOUT MOVIES?!"
Kirby wants the Stab craze to die, just as much as Tara does.
I always took them calling scream 5 just "scream" as a direct tongue in cheek reference to requels like Halloween 2018 !

Interesting. Makes sense. And i agree i want sam to run around in a ghostface outfit lol
I’m happy to have seen Courteney Cox get a badass fight with Ghostface!
Windsor college in Scream 2 wasn’t in woodsboro, was it? And 3 took place in Hollywood! I feel like we’ve got so many people saying this is the first scream to leave woodsboro that I believed it myself!
My proudest moment of my life. 10 mins into the movie before Quinn "dies" right after Sam gets called from Richies phone I looked at my wife and said "Richie is this guy's dead son and her dead brother"
2nd best scream movie for sure.
