Bought this recently. The fuel hose was a bitch to take off. What I did was unplug the LPFP, start the car and let it die a few times, unplugged the fuel hose from under the seat on the back drivers side, then was able to get the hose removed from under the front drivers side. The wire used to tap into power broke on me when trying to tap in, so I just spliced they same cable in the video and have to do slight modifications. But works flawlessly.
Appreciate all the talk of E60. It just happened to turn 5:35 when you were talking about it too hahaha. But this is definitely interesting if you have a custom tune and only want to run this particular map unlike the flex fuel etc. Cheaper option and piece of mind that you are running the mixture correctly in real time. I'm getting about the same MPG myself. Wish I had E85 closer to me. I end up going every 2 weeks and filling up gas cans. As always thanks for sharing!
Nice addition to your car mate but your video is mislabeled. This is not a Flex-fuel kit/sensor. It's an ethanol analyzer. Like SpoolPerformance advertises correctly. Only Motive together give MHD offer a true Flexfuel experience where you don't exactly need to know how much ethanol you throw in the tank. The sensor reads and DME adapts on the fly. No need to to switch maps whether it's E0,E85 or anything in between. I have this solution on my N54 car. I don't have E85 from the pump around here so i have to manually mix. It works flawlessly.
Flex fuel is a American car manufacturer system that a performance shop modify to a BMW and called it the same name. Then charge you a lot of money for a $45 dollar GM part, check the continental part number on your "flex fuel" sensor. They created a fuel map via the wiring harness to allow you to change fuel maps, prestored based on the sensors reading. Tired of these n54 ppl, not you vehicular diy.
Hey bud did mine the other day however I was told to put the sensor after the filter. Also do you have some funny sounds coming from hpfp on cold start? Great vids bud keep them coming!!
Why didn't you use the kid that integrates into MHD? Which would allow true flex fuel and interpolation changes based on the ethanol content all powered by the DME
@andrew bossmaN this was 3 years ago lol a lot has changed there are a few ways for multiple cars Motiv n54 flexfuel with the flexfuel mhd add on, reflex or reflex plus... mhd also sells a a just full plug in for f series every one have e content available now
Hi, I hope you can help me. I am installing the spoolperformance kit. Do i need to connect to the sensor via Bluetooth then open the app? Or will the app manage the connection to the analyzer? What name does it show on the available Bluetooth devices? It can't pair my phone to the damn thing.
Question, when you were calculating the mixture and changed the actual gas level currently in tank to I believe you said 4.49G, was that your estimate or does the app actually tell how how much it is?
Hey just curious do you know if the filter will work if you already have the fuel-it upgraded line and sensor? Looking to do the filter and overdrive unit but didn’t want to have to buy another fuel line.
Lol well the more time that passes the better I can tell you if it's holding up. I had to get my tune sorted before I could go to the track. It's holding the power and it's making a difference. I did a follow up video on my dyno numbers but it did take some time. The numbers would have been higher had I held out just a bit longer as I dialed in my e50 and got rid of my misfire but I felt the pressure to put an update out. I'll use a draggy and cut a 1.8 60 ft on the street to show if it working in the interim and get you guys an update.
@@VehicularDIY Just wounded if u had any issues love the content u put out dude wasn't a dig didn't want seam a dick just interested to see how it's holding up and if it's worth doing I have a335i and my mate a 335d and both wanting a lsd to put power down lol
It's all good man, I was actually responding to Mike but regardless neither of your guys seemed like a dick. I get that it kind of sucks to wait months for updates on a UA-cam channel. It gets old by the time I'm ready to put out an update, I gotta set more realistic expectations with regards to how long it might take to provide updates.

So much work for something that doesn’t talk to the dme.
I just moved to Houston. Didn't know you guys were all here!!
I have the Motive Kit with the upgraded lines that handle E85. That plus a Flex Fuel tune and stage 2 fuel pump. Good for E30 - E50Pretty good shit.
Wow. That's a very nice upgrade.

Fair point, I updated the title. Thanks
@@VehicularDIY No problem! Really love your videos. Keep it up!

just installed mine, thanks for the video
Too many connections in that fuel line makes me nervous.

how do you hook up an ethanal sensor to read it threw the MHD app?? help!!

Nice DIY. My dad has a 335is that I would like him to add this to. Where in San Diego is your shop? Thanks!
Brilliant 👍👍👍😂

very good videos!!!
Can you just tap off the fuse? I have a N55e and do not have those colors...
Great video as usual. Quick question I was hoping you could answer. Does the flex fuel sensor just float in place or do you zip tie it to something?
Zip tied to the black metal bracket if I recall correctly
@@VehicularDIY thank you.
Hey I was wondering what tune are you running with the new turbos ?
Motiv flex fuel kit with MHD I see coming in vehicular DIY's future. Then port injection :)

It should I have the same ethanol reader from fuel it. Im ordering the same Helix setup for my upgraded turbos
Any n55 content coming?
U still running that kit in the diff to make it lsd ? If so how is it holding up with that power ?
@Mike Oxlong if it's any good and holding up I would buy one

Yo bro, what brand is this kit ?
Its made by spool performance.
Yea but the filter , is the a additional filter for the E85!? You videos are very helpful my man
do u have any social media
What model sensor is that?
It's a continental sensor.
Honestly Ethanol is a pain the ass. It's never what it says it is and you have to calculate it every time you want to get gas.
hey sir
