  • Join me while I replace the High pressure and return power steering lines on my 2002 Dodge Dakota. After replacing the Power steering pump recently, It was discovered immediately the repair didn't fix my issue of losing power steering fluid and hearing the power steering whine.

I really like that you include what could go wrong it keeps it real. The only thing I would add is what it was that you were doing. Where you cut something off or sanding down something rusty? The video helped a lot otherwise. Thank you

I just changed my pump but there were 2 o rings kinda fused together. I didn't know that's now how it was supposed to be so I got a new pump and put it on again but the steering wheel is still hard to turn...

The end looks different on my 1987 Dakota hose. It's longer from the thread to the nipple with a ring of metal at the point the nipple begins. Yet the replacement part looks similar to yours. I wonder if this is going to fit. I'd love to be able to cut mine to put the closed wrench on it, but i might need that old part. All the replacements look the same. Not sure what to do.

Make you sure you are replacing the high or low pressure side with the correct part. Maybe you got a high pressure side for the low pressure or vice versa.

@@SteveDoesEverything Thanks Steve. Turns out I was an idiot. The old part's nut was just moved back along the high pressure tubing and so it looked to me like a different form of a flare at the end. After sliding it to the end, it's clear that I have the correct part. Old & new now look identical. Duh!
