Had a 21 Subaru Forester and had excellent luck with it. Just traded for a 25 Forester Touring and it is so nice, quiet, refined. They definitely improved on the previous generation with the 25 model.
Love my Subaru Forester Touring (2017), but the seats are as hard as a rock on long drives and I hate that I have to use Premium gas because it’s an XT (turbo) but only one repair at 110,000 miles!

I see Teslas frequently being towed. The wrecker guy said flat tires are the most frequent. When you destroy a tire you have to buy 4. Next was an exhausted battery and after that was electronic glitches and shutdowns.

Never owned one but I drove them as a private chauffeur in Manhattan for years. I wanted to like them but they were junk. A couple of them were towed to the dealer after breaking down during a two year lease! We had an Autobiography that went thru 7 screens, imagine if you were paying for them? I knew the service manager like a member of my family because I was there so much. We ended up switching to Mercedes which were much better. I would drive an old Plymouth to work and that never broke down in the 11 years I had that job!
I love the Rav4 hybred. Summer time 44-48 miles to a gallon with combo city/hwy. Winter in Wisconsin 35-39 miles to a gallon. Advertised as 41/39. Everything it said, very happy.
People lease Range Rovers, people with real money don't "buy them". After a 3 year lease they return them and lease a new one. The only fools that buy them are idiots that get them at a discount off-lease because they want to look like a big shot...just in time to pay for repairs. 😂

I've been developing my hyper miling technique in my 24 Corolla Cross SE AWD hybrid. After 4 months I'm getting combined 85+ MPG 70% EV. Not bad for an AWD SUV.
I was surprised that the Kia Sorento and Telluride didn’t make the list. I have a friend that had to wait 8 months for her 2022 Telluride, however, ours only took 1-1/2 months to get, special order, too! The day we picked it up, the dealer received a full truck load of Tellurides, and they were almost all sold at that time. 1-1/2 years, no problem. Very quiet, great ride and solid construction.
Finally kept my present Outback past 36k. Two oil gasket leaks at 60k. WTF! Would have cost me $2,400 except I purchased the extended warrenty for the same amount. Praying the car lasts to 100k before selling. 😮

I have a 2017 Forester Touring XT and I had to buy a seat cushion because the seats were horrible when you are sitting in them for long drives. You would think with aTouring model the seats would be soft. On the positive, I have had only one repair in 110,000 miles and I love all the features!
My wife really likes Her 2020 black edition Ridgeline getting 25 mpg + With a Naturally aspirated V6 and 9 speed ZF Transmission, Premium Gasoline only is used the secret for 26 mpg averages all the time.

Actually, most people don't buy their RR off the lot. They order it with their personal customizations. So, if you think like that, it totally makes sense that they don't need to carry many in stock.
Don't forget the Corolla: I've been trying to buy a new base model Corolla LE for the past 6 months but no dealers within 100 miles of where I live have any in stock. (Southern Ontario, Canada). They have used models, but zero new cars. New Corolla LE has an MSRP of $27,000 but 1-year used models are selling for $36,000 and up.
I'm waiting for the new Subaru Forester hybrid next spring. I'm kind of torn between the Honda CRV and the Subaru Forester. I don't like how the Honda has no lighter options for it's interior. You only get black. I live in the southern California desert and I definitely do not want a black interior.
I’ve had two Subaru Outbacks. The first one had an all black interior that I did not like. I felt like the ac struggled to keep the car cool. My current one has an ivory interior and it is definitely noticeable how much better the ac works on an otherwise identical car.
Please tell me where a Honda Pilot or CRV are “in stock.” When I go to our local dealer there are no new cars on the lot. Everything they get is sold before it arrives.
The good news is that with the exception of the Range Rover these SUVs can make for an excellent used car. Of course you do not get the "latest" but if well maintained they can give many years of reliable service. The previous HRV though is completely different basically being a FIT SUV, but they are still a good buy.

I have a 2014 Lexus ES350 with the same Toyota V6 engine, 120K miles and never had an issue. Really fast (5.9 sec) and gets 28 MPG combined. Wish Toyota would bring back the V6 engine.
I bought a NX350h last month. They had 13 NX250’s and 4 NX350h’s. I bought on a Tuesday. By the end of the week, all four of the hybrids were gone and only 2 of the 250’s were left. I didn’t look at how many regular 350’s they had because I didn’t want a turbo.
I agree! No turbo for me either. Problem is, everyone is going to them. Demand high. Toyota has never liked the turbo and is last in line to build them. CEO for Toyota said we don’t think the turbo is a good idea as it dramatically reduces engine reliability, but to stay in business, you have to build what people want. They were also last in EV’s because they don’t believe EV’s are the future.

I bought a brand new Loaded Rav 4 in early 2020 and it’s been a great vehicle. Only thing I don’t like about it is the headroom getting in and out. I’m 6’1” and have to watch my head getting in and out.
In 2022 I ordered a RAV4 hybrid without seeing even one current models on dealers lots, I had to wait 2 months to get it built and shipped. This year I bought a Mazda CX90 PHEV and ordered a Highlander hybrid waiting 10 weeks to get it built and shipped. Also no dealers had even one new Highlander on the lot. I love Toyotas but hate that Toyota limits the supply to the point that you have to order blind. It was so much easier to buy the Mazda which has the same engine as the Highlander but with a much nicer leather interior.
My local Toyota dealer has two new cars listed in inventory this weekend Oct 10 2024, when I bought my Rav4 end of 2021 most of the cars coming off the transport were sold and the remainder sell in days.
Take that list and compare it with the top ten most reliable vehicles. Land Rover drops out. Honda goes lower on the list. Mazda joins the list and Toyota tops the list. Don’t get me wrong, Honda is right behind Toyota, but they do have some mechanical issues and maintenance is more expensive. People are getting older and wiser. If you’re going to pay 40k to 60k for a vehicle, you want something that will require basic maintenance for at least five years, or more. Also, I’m surprised Range Rover made the list over Subaru.
I have heard the Mazda CX-90 has cut into the Pilot's sales. Now you got the CX-70. They are updating the 2.5 T and bringing the 6 and truck back. Now that Mazda and Toyota have teamed up, they are going to be hard to stop.

The flaw in this test is that the car has to have inventory. I don’t think Tellurides are sitting on any lot. They are sold before they arrive. This will exclude them from this evaluation.
#1 just went to #20 IMO. The battery will be heavy which means: Much faster tire wear, supporting rare earth mining by basically slave labor and last but not least...repairs are super expensive.

Ranger Rover? Really? Why no Subarus? We’ve been shopping for a small SUV lately and the only dealership that was busy with actual customer was the Subaru dealership. I’m getting a 2025 Forester for my wife…she loved it as soon as we test drove it.
A few of these vehicles are low production makes which is good reason their not avail. Some of those Honda's on there, my local Honda dealer's lot is full of them.
The only Range Rover I have ever seen that is really nice and powerful , has a GM 5.3L engine with over 1,000hp and automatic GM transmission. Those changes alone eliminated 95% of the normal problems.
Toyota has had major production and parts issues going back to 2021. They haven't been alleviated. Being the lagest automaker in the world, and selling the most cars of course a supply crunch would put all their cars in "short supply". You can't get the kia sportage easily anywhere
We had a 1989 Camry 4 cylinder that was like a sewing machine on wheels. Traded it 10 years later for a slightly used 1997 model. Bad decision. The 97 developed transmission problems and if nobody wrecked that little 89 Camry it’s probably got a million miles on it. Best value ever. Not as much fun to drive as Civics or a Mustang GT that I later owned but it was a great car.

I drive a '16. Want a new one but reliability and price worry me. Mine only has 62,000 miles with zero repairs except wreck damage.

Just get some tint on the windows. They make tint that blocks UV rays and are also a very light shade.

Ask owners of the V-6 Tundras what they think of them . Some are on their third complete new engines at very low milage .

How much did your Nx go for? And what color?

I bought a brand new Loaded Rav 4 in early 2020 and it’s been a great vehicle. Only thing I don’t like about it is the headroom getting in and out. I’m 6’1” and have to watch my head getting in and out.
I got a 2024 frontier, had lots of luxury stuff in it and a naturally aspirated V6
How about the Acuras.
They definitely should be on this list.
I chose a crv over the rav4 due to its quieter ride.
Bigger interior also and nicer seats.
I chose the Rav4 hybrid because it has a spare tire.
Then kia sorento is quieter.
In 2022 I ordered a RAV4 hybrid without seeing even one current models on dealers lots, I had to wait 2 months to get it built and shipped. This year I bought a Mazda CX90 PHEV and ordered a Highlander hybrid waiting 10 weeks to get it built and shipped. Also no dealers had even one new Highlander on the lot. I love Toyotas but hate that Toyota limits the supply to the point that you have to order blind. It was so much easier to buy the Mazda which has the same engine as the Highlander but with a much nicer leather interior.
My local Toyota dealer has two new cars listed in inventory this weekend Oct 10 2024, when I bought my Rav4 end of 2021 most of the cars coming off the transport were sold and the remainder sell in days.
Take that list and compare it with the top ten most reliable vehicles. Land Rover drops out. Honda goes lower on the list. Mazda joins the list and Toyota tops the list.
Don’t get me wrong, Honda is right behind Toyota, but they do have some mechanical issues and maintenance is more expensive.
People are getting older and wiser. If you’re going to pay 40k to 60k for a vehicle, you want something that will require basic maintenance for at least five years, or more.
Also, I’m surprised Range Rover made the list over Subaru.
How did you figure out that 50k is affordable
I have heard the Mazda CX-90 has cut into the Pilot's sales. Now you got the CX-70. They are updating the 2.5 T and bringing the 6 and truck back. Now that Mazda and Toyota have teamed up, they are going to be hard to stop.
Mazda in the last 3 years have really improved
Toyota is shooting themselves in the foot with all those recalls and letting dealers use markups IMO.
@@TheUMIA Got a point. I will give them a little credit. They resolved the whole engine issue pretty quick. Are there still people waiting, yes. Folks like Ford for example: Lawsuits have to fly for them to do something. 45k for a cloth trim Tacoma is ridiculous.
Mu hubby has a Mazda CX 5 and loves it. I am a die hard Toyota person but might consider a Mazda.
They are a great car. The interiors are the best in the industry. Japanese made.
How is CRV #3? Dealers near me have plenty on the lot. RAVs on the other hand are much more difficult to find.

The Lexus NX is a great looking vehicle but too bad the seats are so uncomfortable.
My neighbor kept his Sienna with 120K as he detests the seats in his kids Camry, and his wife's new Venza.
Bought a 350 RX F Sport, had it for 6 weeks and ditched it at a Lincoln dealer because the seats were so uncomfortable.

The flaw in this test is that the car has to have inventory. I don’t think Tellurides are sitting on any lot. They are sold before they arrive. This will exclude them from this evaluation.
#1 just went to #20 IMO. The battery will be heavy which means: Much faster tire wear, supporting rare earth mining by basically slave labor and last but not least...repairs are super expensive.

Ranger Rover? Really? Why no Subarus? We’ve been shopping for a small SUV lately and the only dealership that was busy with actual customer was the Subaru dealership. I’m getting a 2025 Forester for my wife…she loved it as soon as we test drove it.

A few of these vehicles are low production makes which is good reason their not avail. Some of those Honda's on there, my local Honda dealer's lot is full of them.
I work at a Toyota store the only vehicles moving slow are the trucks.

The only Range Rover I have ever seen that is really nice and powerful , has a GM 5.3L engine with over 1,000hp and automatic GM transmission. Those changes alone eliminated 95% of the normal problems.
My buddy had a Range Rover and guys alternated between the Rover and their trucks in Baja. The Rover soaks up those bumps.
You can’t get a Lexus GX 550. That’s the most sought after vehicle today.
Toyota has had major production and parts issues going back to 2021. They haven't been alleviated. Being the lagest automaker in the world, and selling the most cars of course a supply crunch would put all their cars in "short supply". You can't get the kia sportage easily anywhere

We had a 1989 Camry 4 cylinder that was like a sewing machine on wheels. Traded it 10 years later for a slightly used 1997 model. Bad decision. The 97 developed transmission problems and if nobody wrecked that little 89 Camry it’s probably got a million miles on it. Best value ever. Not as much fun to drive as Civics or a Mustang GT that I later owned but it was a great car.
So basically Toyota and Honda own this list. Not surprised.

I think your list is wrong. I’ve seen cars at our dealer have a turn over of 10 days. In and out. The car is the new Trax. It’s cheaper and has a new look and is selling almost as soon as we get them.
