So sorry to hear this sweetheart! I hope your loved ones are looking out for you and you're keeping busy / wallowing when you need to. I'm so touched that my videos can be a nice distraction ❤️ Look after yourself! x (Ps. Dolly Alderton is one of my favourite writers on love and heartbreak in case her words might help)
Thank you for always supporting my videos Kat, it means so much! The Italian Rose exterior colour and Boy Brow and The Minimalist stick fonts have certainly seen better days 😂 x
Really love *suluxs* 's wallet. The fabric is fine. Gold touches add a nice touch. Perfect for when you don't need tote size. I got some compliments when I went to church
SCREAMING. It's my FAVORITE video of the year! 🎉 Had a crazy weekend and I was so excited to unwind with this video. My mix of favorites (oldies and newbies) of the year: * ABH Brow Wiz * Glossier Boy Brow * Kosas Air Brow * KVD Tattoo Liner * Tower28 Make Waves Mascara * Merit Flush Balm in Fox (thank YOU, Matilda!) * Em Cosmetics So Soft in Pearl Tea * Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit in Leopard * Merit Signature Lip in L'avenue * MAC Satin Lipstick in Paramount * Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in Ruby * Tom Ford Eye Quad in Honeymoon * Natasha Denona Glam Palette * By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Bronze Moon * VB Lid Lustre in Mink and Onyx
Thank you Freya! I can feel your excitement from here 🤩👏 SO many great formulas on your list! I've always lusted after the Honeymoon quad and do have my eye on the Tower 28 mascara in particular... I keep hearing great things about it! x
I love red eyeshadows. Trixie cosmetic’s liquid duochrome, “Summer Flame”, has become a sneaky favorite. I bought it on a whim, and it takes 10 seconds to swipe on and pat around the edges. I wore it while hungover and sleep deprived to my graduation and got so many compliments from people.
Your yearly favorites are the videos I look forward to the most! Since you get to try so many products, it's so interesting to see what you continue to keep using & what new releases/discoveries make it to your everyday makeup routine. Very helpful when making my wishlist or when I'm undecided on certain products 😊
I love the way you describe things, so eloquent and smooth and satisfying the way the words roll off your tongue. Really enjoyed this favourites video, and for me my favourites were the Fenty Cream bronzer, Rare Beauty Apricot blush (I’ve almost hit pan), RMS luminizer quad, and Hourglass cream blush in Devoted
i'm taking a break from studying for finals -- what great timing! i've been eyeing the merit blush balms for a long while now, and seeing the formula on you might just make me commit to a purchase. watching your videos always makes me want to strive for more intentional purchases and sustainable choices :) can't wait to check out some of your recommendations in-store soon!
Such lovely feedback, thank you! I always used UA-cam as a reward during exam revision at university so I'm so glad this video could be a nice break for you 🥰 Good luck with your finals! x
This means so much to me Nomin, thank you 🥹 UA-cam has often been my safe space, even long before I was a creator, so it's so touching to be part of that feeling for other people now. Look after yourself! x
I love these video’s! And your impeccable manicure is mesmerizing. Have you tried the Hindash pigments? Based on your faves i think you will love them as blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows! They don’t budge. ❤
Those elf shadow sticks have been a staple for me this year as well. I wear glasses so I swipe it along the bottom of my eye so you can see that I am wearing it.
Great to hear Emily! I have deep set eyes so I do the same, whatever’s close to the lash line is more visible ☺️🖍️ What are your favourite No Budge Stick shades? x
Spring/Summer faves: Fenty Ease Drops in 3 over Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen, or Supergoop alone, Rare Beauty liquid eyeshadow, powder blushes from Benefit, Juvia's Place 6 pan eye pallet in The Nudes, various pink or nude glosses and lipsticks, cannot recall mascara. Fall/Winter: still fenty/Goop but shade 1 and 3 mixed, deeper neutrals and greens on eyes from Colourpop, Urban Decay, and Melt. I only have one mascara open at a time, currently Benefit Fan Fest. Not my favorite, but it will do for another 3 months or so. Then it is back to Rare Beauty, which I like much better. Hope your summer is bright and lovely!
Binging your videos yet again, but this time while finally making a goal board for the year! Only three months late, but much more fun with your beauty edits ;) thanks for all your comfort content Matilda!
I'm catching up on all your videos atm, I love your style of video and enjoy your round up of products I really enjoy Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk cream blush - I actually have a couple now so I'm busy trying them out. I'm only trying out Bobbi Brown shadow sticks ( finally ), I have been liking them for a while. They stay put as well ❤❤❤❤❤
Aaaaand my beauty shopping list just blew up again. Seriously sad I can’t get hold of that bakeup palette easily in the UK, although I’m pretty lucky in general. So many new things to try, thank you for your service 👏🫶
Thank you for watching Amy, nice to hear a few things caught your eye! 🤩🎨 Hopefully Bakeup Beauty will expand after the brand turns one very soon. Given Jo Baker is from the UK, I'm sure you'll be next on the list! x
Miracle balm in Tawny is my summer favorite! I pat it on my cheeks, a little around my forehead, and a tiny bit on my nose. It is undetectable and truly just mimics the look of getting some sun. Jones road is unuderrated
It's always nice to see a round up of beauty favourites. My favourites this year are: -Chanel's Signature de Chanel eyeliner pen. I really like the brush tip, no skipping of eyeliner during application. Smudge proof, lasts all day. I managed to use it up so quickly. -Bourjois small round eyeshadow pots! Lovely baked powder eyeshadows that are so smooth and pigmented. -Bourjois mascara, Twist up the volume balm booster mascara. No smudging, great curl hold, definition and volume. -Sisley Paris, Phyto eye twist. Eyeshadow sticks that creamy smooth, and lasts all day. -Dior Iconic Overcurl mascara. I prefer this to their Pump' n Volume mascara. The Iconic Overcurl is lightweight and holds the curl better. -Two mascaras by Chanel. Noir Allure mascara and Le Volume.
Thank you for sharing your favourites Nancy! We have some matching mascaras there, I'm a big fan of Le Volume and Iconic Overcurl too 🖤 Would love to try Noir Allure! x
The CT matte beauty blush wand in pillow talk was limited edition, and the brand said it's not coming back so stock up if you love it! It's my all-time favorite cream blush, I'm so bummed.
I noticed that when I was adding links for it Kait, can't believe it! Why would they discontinue such a popular formula?! 😩 I thought they'd at least continue the Pillow Talk shade! x
@@matildaonvideo Right?! It's the best shade! I bought more on Sephora since they're still available here. If you don't have access to them in Australia, let me know if you want me to buy any for ya.
Nicolle, let's petition Sephora. I'm sure it won't kill them to stock Merit. They have brands that have bombed big time, but Merit might actually drive more of us back to Sephora. God help us if Mecca gets their mitts on Merit...😨
Loved to see your favourites and look forward to your skincare ones! Lisa Eldridge glosses were a fave for me this year (used up Blush and almost done a bottle of Dragon), and her luxuriously lucent lipstick in Spirited Away is what I've been wearing for interviews so far!
Wow thanks for the long terracotta blush list! I've been wearing Maybelline Clay Crush as blush for years because I gave up on finding alternatives a long time ago. Excited to explore again!
I have many of the same products .. thanks for the Tom Ford pallet suggestion. I am looking for a stunning neutral. I have been loving the Chanel eclat de unit pallet but it is just released in 2024 and more smoky. ❤❤❤

Always love to see someone’s most favorite products! It always is helpful to hear why someone loves a product if a product is on your wishlist and you’re on the fence of buying it. And the longest blush list yet? Sign me up! You know me all too well when it comes to that! Loved this video! Thank you for being my most favorite makeup channel of the year 😊
Thank *you* for saying that, wow! I'm honoured 🥰🎥 I agree, I know some people can find it overwhelming to see so many products in annual favourites, but it might help someone decide on the *one* thing that's right for them x
My makeup favourite for this year is Glossier Boy Brow. I’m not much of an eyebrow person, but this gives just enough to groom my brows to make me look put together. Thank you for the recommendation Matilda..❤
A fun video! The day you convince me to try more brown tones is getting closer. My favorite product of the year would be the new Sydney Grace cream blushes. Absurdly easy to blend, and very pretty. I have a few shades already!
I all of your videos and the way u swatch is so calming. I have always tried to find other youtubers similar to you but in the end, I just binge-watch this channel.
always looking forward to your favourites of each year! i’ve been seeing the touche eclat in your videos since forever, so i decided to get one for myself and i’m so in love 🫶🏻 hoping to try more of your faves! i’m moving to melbourne for studies and hopefully work so i hope to visit mecca and try out stuff from summer fridays and other brands that aren’t available here in singapore 🥲
Thank you! So glad to hear you're enjoying it ☺️ All the best for your move to Melbourne, how exciting! It's my favourite Australian city, I'm sure you'll have a great time there. Hope you settle in quickly! x
Great list. My standouts have been - Merit Soloshadow, Velvet Sorcery and Sorcery gloss, Hourglass Jellyfish palette, Huda Pretty Grunge palette, Dior Rosy Glow blush in Berry, Chanel Reve de Camelia highlight
After my milani tube was reaching its end i finally tried merit blushes from your videos and i am in love with persimmon. My staple warm flush after I couldn’t get the holiday trio. Also tried boy brow and im so pleased at how my brows no longer look flat! Thanks for the list! Video ideas for next year: transfer/ kiss proof lips, cry proof eyes. Looking into the journey of still makeup
So happy to hear that Hannah! I think I might be reaching for Persimmon during our Australian summer too, such a great shade ☀️ Thank you for watching and for the suggestions! x
Another great video, thank you! Summer Fridays skin tint and YSL Lash Clash are favourites for me too. Have you tried Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss yet? If not you might like shade 722, Noce Moscata.
Thank you Cat, great to hear we had a couple of matching favourites! You're the second person in this comment section to mention Noce Moscata so I really need to take a look at that shade 👀 Already know I love the formula! x
Your videos bring me joy in every aspect! I don´t buy makeup anymore and this is such a treat! My favorites are the same for years: Kanebo Sensai Bronzing fluid in 63 Golden Rose Lip liner in 223 Lóreal Lash Paradise mascara
What a wonderful thing to say Milana, thank you! So happy to have many makeup-free or no-buy viewers here who still enjoy watching, it really means a lot 🥰 x
Matilda, my love you are the reason I discovered my appreciation for makeup and I've found so many products through you. We both love CT Bond girl; browns and Red eyeshadow we could wear forever and terracotta/coral blushes are our go to. Love you and your content; be safe and have a great holiday. Here are my makeup favs this year I tried some new things but also loved my brands that cared about sustainability whilst still giving me a beautiful and highly effective products ... Base: Merit foundation in camel and Fenty matte Foundation; just got the Armani Silk Foundation & refill on my Kjaer Weis Foundation for Christmas can't wait to try it. Can't yet because my mom lives in the US and so she has to send it for me. Concealer: Nars radiant in Ginger; Wishlist is Cle de peau in Ocher. It sucks when you don't live in a country with all the access. Brows: Charlotte Tilbury brow cheat pencil, merit brow pomade is great but I accidentally got brown and I need black; ordered Glossier boy brow in Black waiting on that as well. Blush: Kjaer Weis blush in Sun Touched, Joyful and Ilia blush stick in Dreamer; ordered Kjaer Weis blush in Lovely. Bronzer: KW Glow bronzer in Dazzling & Tarte Bronzer in Breezy; ordered Kjaer Weis Cream bronzer in Riveting. Highlighter: have KW in ravishing however I'm not totalling in love so on the hunt for something that is brilliantly pigmented yet still looks like luminous skin and the packaging is pretty(because we love a pretty vanity lol) maybe Roen Beauty highlighter or La Bouche or Pat McGrath. Eyes: ABH Palette in Cosmos and single shadows from Prisma Palette(brand doesn't exist anymore I believe) in Brandy (reddy brown) and Raw Sienna (beautiful mustard) and KW shadow in Magnetic (bronzed brown with hint of sheen); Wishlist Merit shadows in Viper & Midnight and KW impossible Mascara it has length and volume and Tower 28 Mascara. Lips: Merit lipstick in 1990 & Tiger and lip oil in Sangria, KW almost never disappoints using their lipstick in Believe, Euphoria, Authentic & Effortless, CT in MI-my absolute fav(BOND GIRL) and just a couple of weeks ago I got Pat Mcgrath Lipstick in Elson(the lipstick is beautiful, pigmented and plush but scary you need a steady hand or it can go everywhere not forgiving).
This list Vivienne!!! 😍👏 Thank you for sharing so many wonderful picks, nice to meet a big Kjaer Weis fan. I've had my eye on Elson after Taylor Swift wore it so don't tempt me haha, although I love the idea of reversing roles and me buying one of your recommendations! Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season too x
@@matildaonvideo KW is just one of ultimate fav brands; since I try my best to be conscious of what products I use, my consumption and what is the ethos of a brand. Do they care about me as a consumer; ya know. so I'm slowly looking for products that are refillable, effective and that the brand cares about their impact on the planet. Love that KW, Fenty, CT and many more brands are going the refillable route. Also so many brands have skincare ingredients in their products now. Love love love!
Thank you Jocelyn! The show's makeup artist Rebecca Wachtel replied to a comment on her Instagram - the post was a great pink eyeshadow and rich berry lip look on Riley 👏 I did more makeup research on the series at the time but never got around to sharing a video, but if people are still interested, maybe it's not too late! x
Always looking forward to your end of year favourites! My favourite new discovery this year was the sisley eyeshadow in silky chestnut, a perfect “bedroom eyes brown” shade as Kackie would say. An old flame I rediscovered this year was the MAC lustreglass lipstick in Hug me, it was my first EVER lipstick I bought after having found it in my stepmums makeup bag back when I was 13! I swatched it at a Mac counter and picked it up again this year, perfect nude shade.
some of my favs this year were glossier’s stretch concealer and the morphe 2 blush stick in shade “honey sweet” !! i didn’t love stretch concealer when i tried it the first time, but the second go around has been amazing! the blush stick is a gorgeous bronzey peach that is like my ideal flush just a little muted
As far as favourites for this year, I would have to go with the Nudestix blush in Cherie (the absolute perfect shade of pink for my pale skin, when applied as a soft wash it looks so natural, there's just the right balance of pink, coral and nude tones for me to work pretty much year-round), and Danessa Myricks' colorfix in Coinz (an absolutely beautiful shimmery copper. I most often used it as a smudged eyeliner in the summer so it catches the light, but have also used it as a one-and-done shade all over for a more editorial look. My eyes are a bluey-green so it really makes them pop) - also shout-out to the colorfix in gingerbread, I mostly used it as my summer blush, great deep nude peach, has a little bit of fine gold glitter, but I find it doesn't show up on the cheeks all that much so long as you keep the complexion somewhat dewy (which I tend to do in summer anyway)
Thank you! Ooh both good choices. I haven't tried the new Armani formula yet but there are some lovely shimmer shades in that range if you prefer a bit of glow, and more statement matte shades in the MERIT range 🎨 Lots of great neutral shades in both! x
it’s 4th year i’ve been watching your yearly makeup favorites🤍 my favorites for this year are colourpop supershock in ‘Ritz’ (3rd year in a row), lippie pencil in ‘I heart this’, their freckle pen and Milani cream blush in ‘Merlot moment’✨ i’m still planning on gifting myself belated “hey you’ve got a job” present and i want Charlotte Tilbury lipstick and Rare bright red liquid blush😄
Happy fourth favourites anniversary Ola! It means so much that you're still here 🥹❤️ Adding Ritz to my list of products to check out in the US! Congratulations on your job, they sound like lovely treats to me x
Maybelline colour tattoo's eyeshadow pots look like an exact dupe for the Merrit Shadows - except they've been around for like a decade and are cheaper! They're ultra long wearing, and have a lot of good nudes as well as shimmers.
Ive found that the rare beauty cream to powder blush doesn't work well for my dry textured skin, I much prefer the liquid blush, which is my favourite blush for this year! I also love the Revlon super lustrous glass shine lipstick I definitely recommend you test them out, they're very balmy and melt on the lips beautifully.
Hi Matilda! Omg wow the video ❤... this year was the usual fav like chanel rouge flash in moment, haus labs lip tint and surprisingly i also keep on reaching for maybelline vinyl in pounchy for my lips no make up look... nars cruella and lisa eldrige jazz for a nice pop of red... havent reached for anything for faundation much cuz its been so hot and i just melt like ice cream... let me know if u find something to stick foundation to the face at 100 degrees weather😂😂😂... lots of love ❤❤❤❤
Hi Maizura! Thank you 🥰 What a great list, thanks for sharing! I’ve been wanting to try the Maybelline Vinyl Ink lip after hearing good things, but the shade I have my eye on is always out of stock. Hopefully I find it in the US soon! x
Ps. I know what you mean re: melting in the heat in Australian summer! 😅🔥 I definitely stick to very light base layers, sometimes nothing at all (just lots of SPF!) and I bring in the BY TERRY powder in this video to do a little bit of blurring around my t-zone x
Great video, can’t wait to try Merit sometime soon!! I had Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautifying Face Palette in Light as my favourite. Used it as blush, highlighter and eyeshadow!:) Created so many looks with it!! Also had Chanel’s Rouge Coco Gloss in Noce Moscata, such a great formula, but haven’t heard anyone talk about it! Finally got my hands on the Chanel Water Tint as well, absolutely gorgeous and a super old ByTerry duo palette with a bronzer and a setting powder as bronzer, setting powder and eyeshadow:)
Love this 💝 what a gorgeous list! One of my new favourites this year is also the Violette Fr Bisou blush, i have the Ines shade. I have also loved the Stila convertible colour in Lilium and Rose Inc refillable cheek and lip colour in Heliotrope!
I tried Summer Friday's this year based on your comments, loving the jet lag mascara , the tinted sunscreen and lipglosses, and a Dior mahogany has become a staple, loving your recommendations as usual, thanks 😊
Hard to pick favourites! That Chanel contour stick would have to be one, lovely it for when I don't want obvious eyeliner. Givenchy face powder became the only face powder I used. Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation and By Terry CC Serum for a base. I repurchased Maybelline Sky High mascara a lot. Blushes are hard! Maybe Gucci in Radiant Pink. I did use NudeStix Sunkissed a lot, I use it more as a bronzer. Eyeshadows, probably Tom Ford Honeymoon and Armani Eye Tint in 22.
Lots of beautiful picks here Julia! 🤩👏 I always hear great things about that Givenchy face powder, I'd love to try it one day. Thank you for watching! x
how much separation do you feel the ysl lash clash has?? if you like it, that might convince me…. also really interested in the shadow sticks, blush, and of course still really curious about merit the minimalist !!
I feel like Lash Clash's biggest strength is length, Myfanwy! The before and after when I'm applying it always shocks me 😂🤎 For something so voluminous, it's also not as clumpy as I expected so there is some separation, but if you're really into a fluttery separated look (I'm thinking of something subtle like Glossier Lash Slick or 19/99's Lash Tint), the volume might be too dramatic. Thank you for watching! x
Thanks for watching Samantha! I've been lucky to work with MERIT a couple of times (I have a larger audience in countries where they're available) so they've kindly sent some products in the past, but I've also used forwarding services and mailed orders to friends in the US and UK. Just did that again ahead of my trip to the US! Hopefully they expand to more countries in 2024, Aussies are *ready* for it ✈️ x
Hey Matilda, I. found recently that stick bronzers - break me out - I use Nudestix Terracotta Tan - Have you also faced that? Do you sanitize your products - if yes, how ? Thanks for another awesome crisp video! Love from windy Chicago
Thank you for watching Gopika! Luckily I've never had any stick products break me out, but everyone's skin is so different so you might have had a reaction to one of the Nudestix ingredients? I don't sanitise my products other than wiping them down with a tissue if they're messy, and to help with hygiene, I never share makeup with other people 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo You are right - It has 1 comedogenic ingredient toward the very end of the ingredient list but looks like it doesn't agree with my skin. Luckily, the Nudies Bloom are non-comedogenic and I have been enjoying them. Thanks!
Just in time for Christmas!!! So excited despite very carefully watching your channel for years so I’m probably familiar with most products already 😂 already seeing some things you’ve already influenced me to buy
Thank you Elle! It’s like Spotify Wrapped, dropping a little early this year 😉😁 Would love to hear which matches you’ve spotted from your makeup bag? x
i can’t believe i still haven’t tried merit!! i might have to get the minimalist stick and single shadows now hehe have you tried phytosurgence’s blushes?
MERIT is slowly taking over my entire makeup bag! 😍 I haven't tried Phytosurgence yet but I love the look of their shade range! They create very 'me' colours haha x
what do you think about lisa eldridges eye pencils and skin care? the pencils immediately became my new everyday go to, so creamy and rich, but for the skincare I would love to see a video from you to hear about your experience first and to better know what is worth the splurge, I just always trust your opinion, love mimi
I haven't tried either of those recent Lisa launches unfortunately Mimi! Great to hear you love the pencils. I'll be in the UK next year so I might wait to try in person at her Selfridges counter ❤️🇬🇧 x
haus labs foundation, fenty concealer and setting powder, chanel joues contraste blush in "alezane," and pat mcgrath mattetrance lipstick in "vendetta" were my top products of the year! all the same from the last few years except for the haus labs foundation, which replaced my usual nars sheer glow!
@@matildaonvideo it's a stunning blush, though i would love it with a bit less shimmer. Vendetta is of course all thanks to your recommendation, and i will be incorporating "Walk of No Shame" into my rotation in 2024!!
Hi Nia! Apologies for this ridiculously late reply but I'm going back through old comments to share the great news - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
Omg that Bakeup pastel palette is right up my alley! I was about to pull the trigger on it but then I saw that 3 of the colors were considered “pressed pigments”/not eye safe. What a shame! So strange too since they’re pastels and not neons.
Isn't it gorgeous! 😍🎨 Apparently ALL pressed pigments in the US have to be labelled that way re: immediate eye area (I only learnt this earlier in the year via this palette!). I asked the founder Jo about it and she said pressed pigments *are* eye-approved in Europe for instance, it’s just something that’s still flagged in the US. I’ve personally been applying every shade on my eyes with no issues! But if you do have very sensitive eyes, you might like to be more cautious x
Dear Matilda- always look forward to your roundups! Question-- do you think that r.e.m. liquid shadow could be a color dupe for Violette FR's tout doux? I love the color of the Violette one but the formula is just not my cup of tea....
Thank you Melanie! Ooh not the shade Brb, it's too pink-toned for Tout Doux, but there is another lighter tan r.e.m. colour I'm planning to try soon so I'll have to report back on that! I definitely find the formula easier to work with than Violette's. It's closer to the creamy Rare Beauty liquid shadow texture I love 👏 x
@@matildaonvideo ah thank you so much Matilda!! I'll have to get myself to an ULTA soon and check out the shade range. Happiest of holiday seasons to you! xx
Usually just my hands Sana! Nice and easy, and I find using fingertips gives me a skin-like finish (but in the case of MERIT's The Minimalist Stick, I always use their Brush No.1 with that) 👍 x
@@matildaonvideo thank you for your response ❤️ i also prefer using my hands that’s why i was wondering whether the products you use are suitable for such method of application 🥰 good to know !
Hi there! I've been lucky to work with MERIT a couple of times (I have a larger audience in countries where they're available) so they've kindly sent some products in the past, but I've also used forwarding services and mailed orders to friends in the US and UK. Just did that again ahead of my trip to the US! Hopefully they expand to more countries in 2024 ✈️ x
Matilda, are you aware that we cannot get Merit in Australia? If you have contacts at Merit, would you kindly inform them they have an eager market here for their products? It is a kick in the guts every time I see any Merit lipstick, blush or foundation stick on anyone's best of lists. And this is coming from a hard core Chanel fan girl.
Absolutely Kate, they've become the #1 brand I get the most messages about from Aussies who are desperate to try their products! I've passed on the message in the past and will certainly continue to politely remind them that we're ready and waiting haha. Hopefully they have plans to expand in 2024! ✈️ x
All that informing must have helped, Kate... Popping back to share the great news that just broke this morning - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
I thoroughly enjoyed this Matilda! Some amazing mainstays here, and will grab the Dior and Givenchy glosses this week! You sold me 🥰 So cute how Merit seemed to be your brand of the year, you have a fave in every category 😍 Thank you for making great content for us this year and all the years Matilda! Appreciate your energy and beauty 🤍🤍
Thank you for this lovely comment Francy! I knew my makeup bag was very MERIT heavy this year but didn't even realise there was something in every category, wow 😂😍 Hope you enjoy the glosses, let me know what you think! x
Thank you Khadijah ❤️ Please remember that creating beauty content is what I do full-time so this is an abnormally large collection! I'm also lucky to be sent many products as press samples which helps me do my job and share reviews with all of you x
Oh no, I don't find it drying at all! Do you use the full coverage Touche Éclat by any chance? I haven't tried that newer version, only the original. Admittedly I do always start with hydrated skin and only apply a light layer (heavy concealer under my eyes doesn't suit me), but luckily I've never found it dry or cakey 👍 x
I love the lash clash but it dries out after a month. In Canada it's $39 dollars, pricey for a mascara that lasts a month ugh! I love it so.....but too much $
I have heard this from a couple of other people last time I mentioned it! But I started using mine a few months ago and luckily it’s still going strong 🤎 x
going through one of the most painful breakups i’ve ever experienced. your videos always bring me some peace of mind Matilda :)

It’s that time of the year again. Time flies by so quickly, especially this year for me. Your videos make me smile🤍

Thank you Soph, that’s so sweet! Glad it’s a longer one for you to have some extra relaxing time today 🥰 x
Can't believe it's that time of year again! Your content is always so soothing and helpful
I know, where did the time go?! Thank you for the lovely feedback Meli ☺️😘 x
i'm taking a break from studying for finals -- what great timing! i've been eyeing the merit blush balms for a long while now, and seeing the formula on you might just make me commit to a purchase. watching your videos always makes me want to strive for more intentional purchases and sustainable choices :) can't wait to check out some of your recommendations in-store soon!
Such lovely feedback, thank you! I always used UA-cam as a reward during exam revision at university so I'm so glad this video could be a nice break for you 🥰 Good luck with your finals! x
your videos just help me relax after a day full of stress and anxiety its my safe place thank you so much
This means so much to me Nomin, thank you 🥹 UA-cam has often been my safe space, even long before I was a creator, so it's so touching to be part of that feeling for other people now. Look after yourself! x
I love these video’s! And your impeccable manicure is mesmerizing. Have you tried the Hindash pigments? Based on your faves i think you will love them as blushes, bronzers and eyeshadows! They don’t budge. ❤
Thank you so much Alinda! 🥰💅 I haven't yet, but I do love the look of those ombré Hindash palettes x
@@matildaonvideo I use his palettes daily, such great texture and colours. Highly recommend!
Those elf shadow sticks have been a staple for me this year as well. I wear glasses so I swipe it along the bottom of my eye so you can see that I am wearing it.
Great to hear Emily! I have deep set eyes so I do the same, whatever’s close to the lash line is more visible ☺️🖍️ What are your favourite No Budge Stick shades? x
I was just binge-watching your makeup bag videos and noticed you posted a new one. love your channel :)
Perfect timing! Thank you for being here 😘 x
I’m already a fan of Merit and watching your video makes me want to explore the brand more in 2024. Can’t wait for your next videos❤
Thank you! ☺️ What's next on your list to try out?
I applaud this seasonal breakdown of favourites Valarie! Love that level of detail 😄👏 Great picks! x
Binging your videos yet again, but this time while finally making a goal board for the year! Only three months late, but much more fun with your beauty edits ;) thanks for all your comfort content Matilda!
Such a informative video ❤ and also your calm voice is like a cherry on top
Thank you Claudia, so lovely of you! 🥰 x
Urban outfitters us ships bakeup to the uk
@@alia3693 that’s definitely an option, but it’s $30 shipping which is more expensive than the palette itself.
Thank you for watching Amy, nice to hear a few things caught your eye! 🤩🎨 Hopefully Bakeup Beauty will expand after the brand turns one very soon. Given Jo Baker is from the UK, I'm sure you'll be next on the list! x
I always love checking out your favorites. Such beauty and d class.
Thank you Sandy, always appreciate you watching! Excited to see you soon, I'll message you on Instagram! 😘✈️ x
Miracle balm in Tawny is my summer favorite! I pat it on my cheeks, a little around my forehead, and a tiny bit on my nose. It is undetectable and truly just mimics the look of getting some sun. Jones road is unuderrated
Elf lip oil on honey talks was a definite fave for me! Also with you on the merit bronzer train. Merry Christmas!
That exact lip oil shade is on my wishlist to check out in the US! 😍 Great to hear you enjoyed it. Merry Christmas to you too! x
It's always nice to see a round up of beauty favourites. My favourites this year are:
-Chanel's Signature de Chanel eyeliner pen.
My goodness, how I wish I could get some Merit products shipped to Australia :( Great video as always
Thank you Nicolle! ☺️ Me too, here's hoping they'll expand to more countries in 2024 x
Thank you Megan! Excellent picks there 👏 I love Spirited Away too, and am so impressed that you finished the whole bottle of Blush! x
The Nudestix Sunset Strip blush never left my everyday makeup bag since I purchased it 🥰

I really like seeing your products have been actually loved and used!!
Thank you Emi! When some of the brand names are starting to rub off, you know they've been well loved 😂😍 x
My makeup favourite for this year is Glossier Boy Brow. I’m not much of an eyebrow person, but this gives just enough to groom my brows to make me look put together. Thank you for the recommendation Matilda..❤
So glad you're enjoying it too! I'm about to try their new Dark Brown shade soon 👀 x
I’m cutting out Christmas decorations and wishing I had Matilda skills. So happy to see an upload.
Haha thank you! Slow and steady Marnie ✂️🎄 Merry Christmas! x
A fun video! The day you convince me to try more brown tones is getting closer. My favorite product of the year would be the new Sydney Grace cream blushes. Absurdly easy to blend, and very pretty. I have a few shades already!
Thank you! Happy to hear that 😄🤎 x
I all of your videos and the way u swatch is so calming. I have always tried to find other youtubers similar to you but in the end, I just binge-watch this channel.
Thank you Iris, that's so nice of you! Very happy to keep delivering calm swatching for you in 2024 🥰 x
always looking forward to your favourites of each year! i’ve been seeing the touche eclat in your videos since forever, so i decided to get one for myself and i’m so in love 🫶🏻
hoping to try more of your faves! i’m moving to melbourne for studies and hopefully work so i hope to visit mecca and try out stuff from summer fridays and other brands that aren’t available here in singapore 🥲
Thank you! So glad to hear you're enjoying it ☺️ All the best for your move to Melbourne, how exciting! It's my favourite Australian city, I'm sure you'll have a great time there. Hope you settle in quickly! x
Sunday Friday lip butter in all colors, Dior lip oil, and YSL mascara.

That givenchy one omg!!!
The shade! The packaging! The texture! It's a beauty Snigdha 😍 x
My favorites are the same for years:
Kanebo Sensai Bronzing fluid in 63
Golden Rose Lip liner in 223
Lóreal Lash Paradise mascara
I love these end of the year roundups! I was wondering where you read about the lime crime palette being used on daisy jones and the six??
Thank you Hannah! 😄 Ooh I'm instantly interested in that shadow description. So fun to rediscover a lipstick colour from the past! x
Spectacular! So helpful, thanks 👏🎄
Thank you Patricia! So nice to hear 🥰 x
some of my favs this year were glossier’s stretch concealer and the morphe 2 blush stick in shade “honey sweet” !! i didn’t love stretch concealer when i tried it the first time, but the second go around has been amazing! the blush stick is a gorgeous bronzey peach that is like my ideal flush just a little muted
Ooh my eyes always light up at the mention of a blush stick Kaia! 👀 x
Yay! I’m pretty minimal, so i’ll share my short list:
-Mascara: Maybelline’s Sky High Mascara (non-waterproof)
-Brows: NYX Tinted Brow Mascara (in Brunette)
-Base: Purito Cica Clearing BB
-Blush: Milani Cheek Kiss Cream Blush (in Nude Kiss)
-Lips: Maybelline Lifter Gloss (Ice)
-Tool: Sonia Kashuk Marble Makeup Blender Sponge
Honorable Mentions (i don’t wear daily) :
-Lip Pencil: NYX Lip Pencil (SPL831 Mauve)
-Lip Color: Clinique (Black Honey)
-Eye Liner: NYX Epic Ink Liner (brown)
Thank you for sharing Sarah! Definitely going to check out the Sky High mascara soon 👀 x
Yeah I need the bake up pallet
It's so fun! 🤩🎨 x
Thank you so much Matilda!
You have exquisite tastes!👌🤩
You are too kind Isabelle! Thank you for watching and supporting my videos, I always appreciate it 🥰 x
My favorite discovery of the year are lelo's lipsticks. They're very pigmented and last the whole day. ❤
Thanks for sharing Rachel! 💄 x
Absolutely hooked in by those descriptions, thank you for sharing! 👏 Sounds like I need to take a look at all three shades... x
Lovee the video! I'm deciding between the merit solo shadow and armani eye tint, both looks amazing
@@matildaonvideo thank you so much Matilda🤍🤍🤍
Maybelline colour tattoo's eyeshadow pots look like an exact dupe for the Merrit Shadows - except they've been around for like a decade and are cheaper! They're ultra long wearing, and have a lot of good nudes as well as shimmers.
Ive found that the rare beauty cream to powder blush doesn't work well for my dry textured skin, I much prefer the liquid blush, which is my favourite blush for this year!
I also love the Revlon super lustrous glass shine lipstick I definitely recommend you test them out, they're very balmy and melt on the lips beautifully.
I love the Rare liquid blush too Sandee! Which shade is your favourite? I have Rum Raisin in that Revlon formula, it's lovely 😍 x
Some lovely picks here Sona! 😍 Thank you for sharing x
I gasped when I saw this Video! I love it!
Thank you Karen! As someone who often gasps when I see a video in my feed that I'm excited to watch, I'm flattered 😂❤️ x
Love this 💝 what a gorgeous list! One of my new favourites this year is also the Violette Fr Bisou blush, i have the Ines shade. I have also loved the Stila convertible colour in Lilium and Rose Inc refillable cheek and lip colour in Heliotrope!
Thank you lovely! Excellent blush picks 😄👏 x
I tried Summer Friday's this year based on your comments, loving the jet lag mascara , the tinted sunscreen and lipglosses, and a Dior mahogany has become a staple, loving your recommendations as usual, thanks 😊
Thank you Andreina, lovely to hear! Sounds like a nice routine 😄💙 x
Thank you for watching! x
So mostly browns, terracotas, earthy and sometimes muted colors
The video of the year!! 😮🥳🥳 notif squad!!
Thank you Jade! 🤩 Hope you enjoy it x
Loved it as usual ofc! After watching your merit review I got a few items and love the signature lips soo much!! ❤
@@JadeChua29So nice to hear, thank you! Do you have a favourite shade? 😍💄 x
How do you as an Australian buy Merit Beauty? I’ve been unable to find a source that ships to Oz.
Popping back to share the news Samantha - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
You should start a podcast with your lovely calm voice! ❤
That's so nice of you, thank you! I'd love to one day ❤️ x
Loved the video ❤
Thank you Anita! 🥰 x
@@matildaonvideo if you and Lisa made a video together that would be the most beautiful collab ♥️
haus labs foundation, fenty concealer and setting powder, chanel joues contraste blush in "alezane," and pat mcgrath mattetrance lipstick in "vendetta" were my top products of the year! all the same from the last few years except for the haus labs foundation, which replaced my usual nars sheer glow!
I just looked up that blush Hunter, what a stunning shade! 😱😍 Thank you for watching and sharing your favourites x
@@matildaonvideo it's a stunning blush, though i would love it with a bit less shimmer. Vendetta is of course all thanks to your recommendation, and i will be incorporating "Walk of No Shame" into my rotation in 2024!!
Matilda - how do you get Merit in Australia? I'm so desperate to try it out!
Hi Nia! Apologies for this ridiculously late reply but I'm going back through old comments to share the great news - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
@@matildaonvideo AHH YAY!!! I'm so stoked! Great news indeed 🥰 x
Happiest of holiday seasons to you! xx
would love to see you try Filipino makeup, Matilda!
I'd love to explore more brands Daph! Any favourites? 😄 x
@@matildaonvideo Issy Cosmetics, BLK, and GRWM cosmetics are some popular favorites 🥰 many say that GRWM's lip booze in Tequila is a Black Honey dupe!
do you prefer to apply foundation with a make up brush or with your hands? ☺

Dropping by to share the news this morning - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
@@matildaonvideo awesome! Thanks for the update! :)
Fabulous ❤
Thank you! 🥰 x
Yearly favourites are my favourite videos 🥰
Still so sad Cle de Peau doesn’t make fairer concealer shades… but 🤞🏻 for 2024!
Thank you Ali, mine too! I’ve always loved this time of year on UA-cam so I’m so happy to be part of it 🥰 x
I got my nails don’t today and I have similar color on as you
Great video
Thank you for always supporting my videos Kirsty! ❤️ x
@@matildaonvideo your very welcome
Tower 28 Making Waves Mascara and Half Caked Mascara.
@@matildaonvideo I saw that! Thanks for any hand you had in it. EXCITED MUCH!!! 😀
I knew my makeup bag was very MERIT heavy this year but didn't even realise there was something in every category, wow 😂😍 Hope you enjoy the glosses, let me know what you think! x
Try Kulfi concealer.
cry in broke😢 you are so sophisticated and elegant❤❤❤
Thank you Khadijah ❤️ Please remember that creating beauty content is what I do full-time so this is an abnormally large collection! I'm also lucky to be sent many products as press samples which helps me do my job and share reviews with all of you x
Matilda, are you a Soft Autumn type?
I don’t have dry skin but the YSL Touché Eclat is incredibly drying. I’m surprised if you’re dry, you would use that
Oh no, I don't find it drying at all!
