As far as new make-up goes, the Danessa Myricks blurring balm powder in universal is absolutely worth the hype it gets! I just pat some onto my t-zone (where my makeup can sometimes change from dewy to greasy looking) with a dense blush brush, it looks like a balm at first, but dries in a few minutes to a satiny matte. Utterly undetectable, doesn't highlight my extremely dry skin, and lasts all day.
That's the loveliest way to describe it Ted! ☺️❤️ I'd been thinking about filming a *real* 'revisiting old favourites' video where I go back across previous years' videos or annual favourites. I always love the nostalgia and memories makeup can bring up! x
Another winner from your recommendations! I purchased the Bakeup palette and it is wonderful! You have never steered me wrong and I have discovered so many wonderful products thanks to you, Matilda!
I can't wear any powder makeup around my eyes for more than two days straight, I have extremely dry eyes, so I've been into the solo shadow by merit for everyday use and it's fabulous! especially because I have dry eyelids, and it makes them moisturized throughout the day! Not irritating AT ALL! Also, everything nudestix for making my 3 min makeup getting out of the house!
@@matildaonvideo vachetta is the perfect shade for everyday for me! But midnight is my favorite one, a little tricky, but since I wear it more like a messy cat eyeliner it's brilliant 😍
The Ami Colĕ multistick in dune is a favorite of mine, too. Such a gorgeous desaturated rose/brown. Neutral enough to go with everything, lasts really well. I reach for it all the time!
i'm completely obsessed with the Ole Henriksen Pout preserve lip treatment in orange spritz, the Hourglass phantom glossy lip balm in desire (the perfect my lips but better shade for me) and the Ulta beauty longwear matte liquid eyeshadow in game over (gives me just a hint of definition). i think you would love all of these!
Ooh Desire looks gorgeous! And I love the sound of the Ole Henriksen balms 👏 Wish I'd seen that Ulta formula when I was in the US! Going on my list for next time, thank you x
I love the hourglass glossy balms so much!!🩷 I got influenced by Matilda djerf and Sabrina carpenter, the shades slip and desire are such pretty pinks for everyday and no makeup days. I also love the chantecaille cheek gelée, it feels like a glowier and lighter version of glossier cloud paint. Loved watching this, Matilda ☺️🫶🏻
Thank you Jade! I've been using my Chantecaille Cheek Gelée again recently ahead of my next Year of Peach blush episode 😄🍑 I need to check out Sabrina in Hourglass, I didn't know she used those glossy balms! x
I'm currently OBSESSED with some Jones Road products. The eyeliner was a dud for me but the Miracle Balm, Face Pencil, and Lip and Cheek Stick have all been outstanding in my experience. Fantastic formulas for very easy/quick application and a very natural but impactful look.
That Bakeup palette is so smol and SWEET!! 🥰🖤 I was immediately sold as soon as I saw it in your thumbnail. LOL I gave them my money so fast. 😂 I can’t wait to receive it!!
Oh my gosh Matilda we have so many similar favs including colors. The color part always surprises me because we have very different coloring. I am light to light/medium (summer) olive. Dark brown eyes. But we love so many of the same shades. Now also Interesting is how the colors show up on me. Very different than on your skin. Less mauvey. The merit Persimmon is very yellow orange on my skin, so I’m not a fan of that one, but it looks stunning on the swatches on your arm. Rose inc and Patrick Ta make my fav cream blushes and I picked up one of the new colors to add to my already huge PT blush collection. It is a very neutral color which I think you’d love. I also love the new merit matte lip in Maison. I’m all about rosy brown colors. It’s a My lips but better color for me, as I have very pigmented lips. I am loving the Armani liquid eyeshadow in both the matte and the sparkly formulas. Merit mascara is my go to. No flaking and removes easily. And holds the curl for a non waterproof formula. My fav base has been Chanel water fresh tint as I don’t wear foundation and I recently got westman ateliers new tint and it is gorgeous, as are her blushes. Bottom line, I like creams and liquids on my dry skin and live in a dry climate. And blush is my favorite makeup product and is truly an obsession. I have to have every color I like in every formula I like. It’s nuts. So glad you’re feeling better and I can’t wait to watch all the videos you talked about doing.
Loved hearing about all of these product crossovers, thank you for sharing! 😄👏 I always enjoy seeing someone mention that we have a favourite shade in common, even though it might look quite different on our skin tones. That's the beauty of makeup! So glad you're enjoying Maison as well, such a gorgeous colour x
Fuzz by Glossier is one of my favorites too! If they ever discontinued the Generation G lipsticks I would be very sad. And also stock up on that color! Excited to try some of the other products you mentioned when I work through other products in my collection! Most excited to the Bakeup pallet and might have to order that sooner than planned!
I love your channel so so much. Your aesthetics, style, color selection everything. I just registered for makeup school at Natasha Denona's classes I'm so excited to learn more.
I dont usually buy several of the same blushes but rose inc blush is an exception for me! I love it so much i even bought several shades. Its just so pretty, easy to blend and last well through out the day😊
Waving from Oregon, USA! Sick of winter, so I copied a look Kackie did on her channel with peach and green on her eyes. I have done this with Rare Beauty Nearly Neutral and the NYX Ultimate Edit 6 pan in Brights. I use the vibrant green as a liner around about two third of the upper and about half the lower. For extra fun I like either Space Cowboy or a Colourpop Super Shock shadow in Rooftop Cocktails as a topper. Skin care has been my focus lately, though. Serums to reduce lines and age spots, light exfoliation, and rich moisture masks are in the rotation. Currently trying to low buy only replacement products just now and enjoy all the fun things I have.❤❤
This sounds like such a fun look Valarie! I'm a big Nearly Neutral fan as well, and I love using it as a base with a brighter eyeliner too 🎨 I've had my eye on Space Cowboy for a while! x
I love Fuzz! Such a lovely color! Definitely adding some of these products to my list of things to try! Hope you’re feeling a lot better! Can’t wait to see your next videos! 😊
Omg I own both haze and slip for hourglass. I also love my Laura Mercer eyeshadow sticks, they are so creamy and not drying. I also love rose inc’s blush in foxglove-amazing for warmer weather. I love merit’s bronzer stick and want to try their blush!
Someone else mentioned Slip to me, sounds like that might have to be my next shade! 😍 The MERIT bronzer and blush are such a lovely combination, I'm obsessed with the dewy finish and how light they feel on the skin x
I think Rom&nd's Better than Eyes in Shade & Shadow Garden might be a good alternative if you want something similar to that Bakeup Beauty palette (if like me, K-beauty is more accessible to you than most Western brands). I hope you've recovered from COVID & are feeling much better, Matilda!
Love this list! Merit's new Maison lip color is being delivered tomorrow (it took me days to decide which color to try first! was also looking at Equestrian for a grunge vibe), and you just prompted me to add Elf's Camo Blush to my cart. I have also been loving the Hourglass Phantom Glossy Balms and want to shout out the shade Lucid, which is rarely mentioned. It's a bright orange/coral in the tube but it applies as a sheer tangerine flush. It's beautiful! Also still loving the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine. Just purchased another shade called Chestnut Corset (154) and it's the perfect MLBB color if applied with a light hand.
We are absolutely on the same makeup page at the moment 😄👏 I nearly included a YSL Rouge Volupté Shine shade in this video! It will pop up in my wedding guest makeup look video soon. Love the sound of Lucid, thank you! I'll take a look x
I’ve been enjoying the milk cooking jelly sticks. Definitely a learning curve with these, but the result and lasting power is worth it! I pretty much only use them on freshly moisturized skin on my “no makeup” days. Have also been enjoying the newest summer fridays birthday lip bitter balm (smells very similair to og glossier birthday bdc) and the newest makeup by mario palette. The original pulls really warm on my pale skin, so these slightly cool neutrals are the perfect matte shades for me. ❤ thx again for the incredible video Matilda
My latest favorite product has been the Dior Forever Glow Star Filter - I love to use it all over after moisturizer, but then I use the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder to both blur my skin and give a slightly no-makeup makeup glow. It's been the perfect combo for my combo skin! Also loving the Benefit Precisely My Brow Wax - it has the perfect spoolie to shape my brows.
I was just looking at photos of the new Star Filter and Glow Maximiser formulas yesterday Raoul! Can't wait for them to launch in Australia, they look stunning ✨ x
I really have to thank you. Through you i discovered the Glossier Generation G Lipsticks. As soon as Glossier started shipping to Germany i got the shade "Like" and i LOVE it. I've been wearing it every Day since i got it❤❤❤
The palette is everything I could ask for, but still not available in Canada, I have to be patient. Same thing for Ami Colé, I want to try their lip oil so much! Nice video as always, it makes me want to be more creative with my makeup ❤️
Thank you for sharing these lovely new additions to your makeup bag 💜. I picked up a few new things myself! Tried Patrick Ta for the first time with his new blush duo shade “not too much” and his (not new) bronzer duo in “she’s statuesque”. Oh my goodness I have been loving the versatility of mixing and matching the creams and powders (sometimes wearing the duo cream/powder together, or just one or the other). I think I’ll be picking up another blush shade “she’s so LA” when the time is right. 😊
Thank you for watching! ☺️ Ooh I nearly picked up a new Patrick Ta blush duo in LA but I was torn between two shades, and now there are even more to choose from! Such a nice formula x
The bakeup color way is really similar to this maybelline city girl palette I own! The formula is great too and this palette also has a bronze shimmer which I love. idk if it's a dupe but it's definitely a similar color scheme
Ooh what's the name of that palette Shriya? I saw some great City colour palettes when I was in the US! Definitely some pops of pink and peach that always stand out to me 😍 x
omg hi Maltilda!! The palettte is officially called The City Mini Palette and the specific one I own is 550 Cocoa city. It's was a drug store find from a couple years ago so I'm not sure if it's still out there but this is the only palette I own (minimal product girlie) and it does the job ever time! I love your videos @@matildaonvideo
No new makeup here for a while, but I have really been enjoying Viseart’s petit pro 1, which I’ve paired with some single eyeshadows to give me more range, the colourstay crème shadows from Revlon in 705, 710, and 730. 710 is a colour dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Oyster Pearl, but just in a better formula that lasts longer I find. 🙂 and I’ve been working through some makeup samples. I’ve really been enjoying Rare Beauty blues in Heliotrope, especially for summer. Favourite nail polish this month has been Sally Hansen Proper P-rose. Thanks for sharing your favourites!
I like the Rose Inc blushers and also have Daylily. Taupe makes me think of brown/grey as well (definitely in eyeshadow) so how it translates to taupe blushers I don't know!
New purchase: I recently purchased Summer Fridays lip butter balm after much contemplation. I hate that I love it so much😂. It's pricey for a lip balm. Old favorite: I am using Glossier stretch concealer more lately. I love how easy it is to blend with your fingers when I cannot be bothered with the brush or sponge. It's my winter fav. Hope you feel better❤🩹
I’ve tried most but the ami cole blush, rhode, the lip liner and eyeshadow palette and have loved basically all of them. Unfortunately the elf blush broke me out on my cheeks so I gave it to my cousin and she’s loving it so it was probably just my super sensitive skin, luckily I’ve had no issues with any of the other products
Ami Cole's lipgloss has had me in a chokehold recently - super thick and nourishing but not sticky, and they still feel secure on the lips. Great on their own, but also good for layering over tints and lipliners ☺ I've gone through 3 tubes in the past 6 months 😶🌫
Yes! I have 3 shades and have been through 2 of the original shade, Excellence. So cushiony and glassy but somehow have a grip that allows them to stay in place, I never have to worry about them smearing or dripping like other glossy lip products.
I got the Kung Fu Panda blush and gloss set from Tower 28 and I love it!! It lasts all day and ,as I have SUPER pink undertones, looks pretty natural on me! I can tap it on the cheeks and lips and throw the gloss on top for a quick look!
@@matildaonvideohopefully they release that set again now that the movie is out! It came with a red blush in their beach please formula and a really pretty gold shimmer gloss! iirc it was a Lunar New Year release
Oh no - hope you’re feeling better post-COVID, Matilda! Loved seeing a mix of old and new favs here 🥰 Have you tried/do you plan to try the Tower28 lip softies?
Thank you Kat! Luckily back to normal now ☺️ I'm a bit behind on launches in the lip oil / balm world - Summer Fridays, Tower28 and Ole Henriksen are all on my wishlist! x
Fine, Daylilly, Cashew, Bed of Roses, Minky….they all look like some shade of brown to me. I don’t have an eye for color. (Obviously!) The eyeshadow palette looks like a lot of brown too but I might give that a try . 😊
Lovely selection of products Matilda (as usual)! I’m curious as to how the Merit matte signature lip compares to Violette Fr’s bisou balm or Refy’s lip blush. Same same or different? 😊
I've recently gotten into liquid liners for graphic liner looks. I've been on the hunt for a metallic gold that has a lot of color payoff, but so far, it feels like I'm looking for a makeup unicorn. 😅
Ooh I love the sound of this Tia! My liquid liner skills leave a lot to be desired (a real 'if you don't use it, you lose it' situation in the last few years 😂) but I love playing with colourful pencil liners instead x
@@matildaonvideo still going strong 😅 the thing is, it is similar in colour with a Nars powder blush I have and I have a tendency to pick the Nars blush more. I also bought Rose Inc lipstick too and it is definitely a must try if anyone doesn't mind the rosy like smell for the lipstick.
Hey Matilda! I was immediately excited by the Rose Inc colour Day Lily. This will be my autumn/winter colour. I'll pair it with Glossier Fuzz and the Bakeup palette. It was exciting to see what I need right there. It's so daunting trying to decide what brands and colours to consider because there's too many to choose from. Now I feel peaceful that I can get on with the rest of my life. Thanks to you Big M!❤🙏🧡🙏
Hi Alicia! MERIT ships to the US, Canada and UK at this stage (I have a larger audience in those countries so I've been lucky to work with them) but hopefully you might have a friend in one of those places who could help you get your hands on a set? So grateful for your interest! Fingers crossed they expand to more countries this year ✈️ x
How are you getting the Bakeup shadows to show up? I bought the pastels palette after seeing it in one of your videos and the pigment level kills me, I can barely get it to show up
The pigment is stronger in these tones - so buttery and even! But the pastels have been fine for me too, only one or two colours needed more building.. maybe one of the light greens from memory 🎨 (In general, I don't think they're designed to be suuuper high impact like some brands' pastel/bright shades, more of a wash of colour! You could always add a tiny bit of water or mixing medium to a powder shadow to make it more intense) x
@@matildaonvideo I’ll try the mixing medium, hopefully that gives me more color/ impact! I didn’t think they were supposed to be sheer based on their product images, good to know!
I don't think the palette is specifically marketed as 'sheer', but the way they perform to me means they work so well as a wash of colour, instead of the really punchy intensity you might see from Jo's brighter Primary or Neon palettes ☺👍 Hopefully adding a mixing medium or some water might help you dial up the pastels too! x
I was really impressed by the formulas in my recent Drugstore Dupes video, that's my latest update in that category! ☺️ No eye glosses there exactly, but an option is always mixing some water into a shimmery powder shadow which can give it more of a metallic (therefore hopefully wet-look / glossy) finish on the eye x
I’m so jealous of all the merit products you have. I eventually want to try merit if I were to buy from them what product do you recommend? (Also if I was rich I would basically buy all of their products)
This question is perfectly timed Akira - I recently curated two Matilda x MERIT sets! 😄 One has *all* of my Favourites from the brand, and another is a smaller edit with a few of my Essentials. They're linked in the description box of this video if you'd like to take a look! Let me know if you have any questions about particular products x
I have a larger audience in the US, Canada and UK where MERIT ships so I'm very grateful for the chance to work with them, but fingers crossed they ship to more countries this year Sanaya! I certainly keep reminding them that Aussies are interested (although sadly I think our smaller population size often works against us when brands plan to expand) ✈️ Really appreciate your interest in the sets! x
Be careful of the Rhode lip treatment if you have tree nut allergies!! Can't stress that enough. A lot of people have had a negative reaction to the formula so please please do your research before purchasing
Sounds fantastic! I've always meant to try out that formula, Danessa's creations are so innovative 👏 x
I love her cream blush too - I have 4 of the shades and they look so natural on my skin.

Thank you for sharing your favourites too Erynn! 😄 I like the sound of those Revlon shadows x
I like the Rose Inc blushers and also have Daylily. Taupe makes me think of brown/grey as well (definitely in eyeshadow) so how it translates to taupe blushers I don't know!
Glad we're on the same slightly confused taupe blush page Heather! 😂 Whatever the description, I love those kinds of shades x
merit’s persimmon blush shade is my perfect daily blush 💗💗 it suits my undertones perfectly
So nice to hear that it's one of your favourites! ☺️🍊 x
Ooh which Summer Fridays balm tint did you go for Pooja? 😍 I'm about to get back into Glossier's concealer, I bought a new shade when I was in LA! x
@@matildaonvideo I got Vanilla Beige. There are more options online. This isn’t good 😅
I’ve tried most but the ami cole blush, rhode, the lip liner and eyeshadow palette and have loved basically all of them. Unfortunately the elf blush broke me out on my cheeks so I gave it to my cousin and she’s loving it so it was probably just my super sensitive skin, luckily I’ve had no issues with any of the other products
Oh no, sorry to hear about the Elf blush! Your lucky cousin receiving it instead ☺️ Glad you’ve been enjoying some of the other formulas here! x
Ami Cole's lipgloss has had me in a chokehold recently - super thick and nourishing but not sticky, and they still feel secure on the lips. Great on their own, but also good for layering over tints and lipliners ☺ I've gone through 3 tubes in the past 6 months 😶🌫
What an excellent review! I definitely have my eye on their gloss as well 😍 x
@@matildaonvideo hope you love them if you try them! ☺️
Yes! I have 3 shades and have been through 2 of the original shade, Excellence. So cushiony and glassy but somehow have a grip that allows them to stay in place, I never have to worry about them smearing or dripping like other glossy lip products.
@@linzeeb4 they've basically gone and ruined every other lipgloss around for me 🤭
Cant’t wait for all that new content🤩
Thank you Isabelle! I'm excited 🤩 x
I got the Kung Fu Panda blush and gloss set from Tower 28 and I love it!! It lasts all day and ,as I have SUPER pink undertones, looks pretty natural on me! I can tap it on the cheeks and lips and throw the gloss on top for a quick look!
Ooh I haven't seen that set! Sounds so cute 👏 x
(Obviously!)
The eyeshadow palette looks like a lot of brown too but I might give that a try . 😊
All about the subtle shade differences and nuances! 😄🤎 x
@@matildaonvideo- it’s hard for me to see the subtle differences but I trust you!!
Lovely selection of products Matilda (as usual)! I’m curious as to how the Merit matte signature lip compares to Violette Fr’s bisou balm or Refy’s lip blush. Same same or different? 😊
Thank you Luisa! Don't worry, I'll be including a formula comparison section in that MERIT lipstick video 😉💄 x
Fara homidi is it!!!
Emma Stone’s Oscars look was amazing!
I think you'll enjoy the new video on my channel then Madalyn! 😉⭐️ x

Is the Bakery micro palettes a cream formula or powder? Thank you
Bakeup Beauty just makes powder shadow palettes at this point! 👍🎨 x
Hi Matilda, where can you buy the Bakeup palette? I mean, can you get it in places like Target, Ulta or Walmart? Or is it a Sephora product? xx
Hi Lulu! Bakeup is only online at this stage on their own website 🎨 x
Great video as always ❤
Thank you so much! 🥰 Much appreciated x
Been using Rose Inc cream blush since I got it in London 2 years ago. I love the shade Heliotrope for a rosy shade (no pun intended) 🤭
Nice to hear you're a fan of that blush formula too! Have you hit pan or it's still going strong? 😄 x
That elf blush is fun
Such a nice texture to work with! ☺️ x
Love me some blushes at this time
Love me some blushes ALL the time Melissa 😍 x
Running out and getting myself some!😍❤
Enjoy Patricia! 😁 Would love to hear what caught your eye here x
Hi Matilda. Is there a way to get your merit favourites kit here in Australia? ❤
Hi Alicia! Excited to pop back again to share the great news this morning - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
I don't think the palette is specifically marketed as 'sheer', but the way they perform to me means they work so well as a wash of colour, instead of the really punchy intensity you might see from Jo's brighter Primary or Neon palettes ☺👍 Hopefully adding a mixing medium or some water might help you dial up the pastels too! x
Please, try the new Lisa Eldridge mascara ❤
It sounds amazing! Planning to pick it up when I’m in London later in the year 😍 x
Do you have any drugstore or mid-range favorites? I've been looking for that beautiful glossy/ dewy eye look, but I haven't had much luck.
@@matildaonvideo thank you so much I will definitely check it out!
Great video
Thank you Kirsty! ☺️ x
@@matildaonvideo your very welcome
I wish Merit would ship to Australia 😭Like how could they make two sets with an Australian creator and still not ship here??!!?
I have a larger audience in the US, Canada and UK where MERIT ships so I'm very grateful for the chance to work with them, but fingers crossed they ship to more countries this year Sanaya! I certainly keep reminding them that Aussies are interested (although sadly I think our smaller population size often works against us when brands plan to expand) ✈️ Really appreciate your interest in the sets! x
Thanks for reminding them of us
@@sytrations2hot Popping back to share the great news as soon as I was allowed to - MERIT starts shipping to Australia from September 18! 🇦🇺💙 x
Is maison closer to bond girl or walk of no shame? 🤔 I wonder
I’ll be sure to swatch them all together in my MERIT matte video soon! 😄💄 x
I’ve been looking for a Bond girl dupe forever
Be careful of the Rhode lip treatment if you have tree nut allergies!! Can't stress that enough. A lot of people have had a negative reaction to the formula so please please do your research before purchasing
Rose Inc was sold to an investment company back in December and RHW is no longer affiliated to the brand. The staff were treated terribly apparently.
I'd seen that the brand had been sold but I didn't know she wasn't involved anymore! That's so disappointing 😔 x
I only care about ami cole nothing else
Would love to hear if you have any favourites from the brand? 😄 x
Foxglove from Rose inc....dreamy and a great formula in the Cream Blush Section.🎉❤🩷🤎
Yes Kat! That's the other shade I own too 😍 x
