    Ive been using this one for about a year, and I've noticed with use, the yoke feels much sturdier with way less detent, and the throttle quadrant (which you did not mention has a flap addon) feels smoother/sturdier, just with the wear and tear of its axis

  • @TheHalfDemon

    The Yoke I have heard gets better with time and requires some time to work in and sounds like a few of the other reviewers have said as much. Also a few pieces of 5mm felt fixes the throttles levers lack of resistance. I think I'm going to give it a shot with the cheap modes to fix it rather than paying an extra $110 for Honeycomb, if the Honeycomb came down in price a bit it would be a no brainer.

    Love the rest of your content though and I look forward to all your upcoming vids!

    Commercial pilot here: I think this wheel is awesome. It couples with flight sim seamlessly. The play in the throttle/yoke connection is minimum at best, and the reason the throttle has an external wired connection to the yoke is so it can be mounted onto a home sim device or rack, independently from the yoke. With the yoke/throttle connected, the wire is barely noticeable, if at all. Really the only complaint I have at all, is the yoke and throttles are very loose. It NEEDS a tension adjuster. They almost break the immersion because it FEELS like you’re playing with a plastic controller with how loose they are. It’s an excellent controller, I’ve paired it with a self standing mount and Logitech rudders. It’s amazing, the tension is the only complaint.

    I just bought the velocity one turtle beach yoke, and not gonna lie I have absolutely no regrets, it's super smooth and has multiple configurable buttons that really help me out. The built in rudder and the trim are probably one of my fav's because you can easily taxi without having to spend another 200 dollars for rudder pedals. Although the price was my only concern. I am not a super picky person when it comes to this though, so if those who are reading this prefer a more complex yoke, then might as well take @virtual reality pilot 's advice! (By the way if you're more of an airbus/fighter jet pilot looking for cheaper options get the stick instead of the yoke, it's WAY cheaper).

    Hey thanks for review, but I would have to disagree to some extent , I have the velocityone flight and the rudders ,now for me the rudders are by far best on the market which makes an important thing to remember when using on Xbox , you just won’t find better rudders on this system, as for the yoke , I find it relatively smooth and with the built in training mode that helps assign button layouts , it’s just a awesome feature , also now the updates out the sip pannel for Xbox is now active and you have all the warning lights ect on your yoke pannel, another awesome aspect to this device the competition is miles behind on, and yes it’s true the quadrant suffers from being light and not much resistance , their are many ways to add resistance, just watch some UA-cam videos for that, but the yoke it’s self I haven’t had the problems your having with precision in turning either up to 180 degrees , it might be possible your yoke hasn’t the best build quality ? And also another great feature is you can change the led back lighting just going into the lcd screen again on the yoke , with the cost saving to other units as it’s a all in one and with additional buttons on the front off the quadrant you can assign and add labels to each button for me it’s a hands down win for turtle beach and I have the honeycomb to make the comparison, thanks for content and usuallly agree with your analysis but this time I think your a little of the mark , for me it gets 4/5 stars !! All the best everyone, keep flying !!

    This is interesting. Thanks for the honest review. Since the problems with Honeycomb have come to the fore, I'm looking for an alternative. I want an Airbusa (for airbus) and a more generic yoke throttle for GA aircraft. This was on my list, not sure now. This leaves Boeing,, somehow won't feel right with a GA aircraft. I have the Saitek and want to upgrade.

    A question (sorry my english):
    Is it possible to separate the Yoke from the Control block (yes, joined by the usb cable)??

    • @mumblecake251
      @mumblecake251 Рік тому

      With regard to Thrustmaster you can either get the Airbus A320 sidestick or the Boeing Dreamliner Yoke but not an Airbus Yoke (the A310 is the only Airbus airliner that comes to mind which does actually have a Yoke). That said the Boeing Yoke is supposed to be very good but it does mirror the mechanics of the Dreamliner Yoke which means that the Yoke pivots rather than just moving forwards and backwards. If this is not a concern to you I think both the Turtle Beach one or the Thrustmaster one would serve you well.

    Ordering the Alpha+Bravo in PT it nearly 600 euros, when this setup costs 380. The Saltek is at 160 though. I saw all 3 reviews.
    I am a student, and I'm actually learning how to fly an aircraft, and therefore I want to buy one of this 3 as a compliment for learning at home.
    What would you recommend me?
    P.S. I saw 2/5 here vs 5/5 to the Alpha, do you really believe that the low quality of the buttons in the Alpha on-yoke momentary switches and the main switch won't start to malfunction or even break in the long term?

    • @anthonymark3771
      @anthonymark3771 2 роки тому +2

      This review is one of the most bias reviews l have seen and is not what l nor many others have experienced with the Velocity. From a GA point of view, the 3 push in throttle prop mixture controls are great and if you move into multi engines, you are still covered. The multi engine throttles are a little lose but that is easily resolved with a $2 fix using stick on Velcro pads. The screen and its options is fantastic, the amount of buttons is amazing and the warning lights are another great feature. It is bit sticky on the pitch at first but that resolves after abut 15 hours and then no issues at all.
      There are far better and more accurate reviews around so ignore this one. And 90% of reviews from users love the Velocity. In Australia it is half the price of the Honeycomb and the honeycomb has far less features and is definitely not twice the value. Have used both and l though the honeycomb is a better feel in the yoke, it lack’s the many features of the Velocity which is why the Velocity is the better buy by far.
      Yours sincerely
      A real user of the Velocity

      Personally tested the Logitech and Velocity One. Skip the logitech one, it is cheap in price, quality and was made more than 10-15 years ago and it shows. The velocity one is an excellent setup that adds so much in a small package. I also don't personally find $400 for sim gear expensive when there's so much you get for it. Look at other reviews, there are a ton of ones that highlight all the great things about this.

    I can't square my experience with your review. Are you sure you didn't get a bad model? My throttle quadrant is solid compared to the wobble you show on yours. My centre indent on the yoke requires hardly any force to move back or forward. I would agree that the throttle levers could use more tension, but I have not had any problem doing fine throttle controls. Also I find the criticism that it does not have a flaps switch/lever a little petty as it's easily mapped onto any button and you could just as easily criticise it for not having a landing gear lever, parking brake lever etc.

      Tend to agree with the feedback here. No other yoke on the market affords as much customizability in one setup without additional modules to get the same functionality. I also think $400 roughly is cheap for what it provides. Tested the logitech yoke vs this one the other day and it just felt super cheap by comparison is nearly every way. Not even worth the $150 for that one.

    Have had it for 6 months now and it's still sticky as hell, almosy unusable for light aircraft. Luckily I was able to get some help from turtlebeach support.
    "Fresh from the box, the VelocityOne Flight's yoke may feel a bit 'sticky'. The yoke will break in over time; the more you use the controller the more this slight sticking will be reduced.
    You can also pull the yoke shaft out fully (carefully) and gently rub it down with a clean, dry paper towel, then carefully reinsert the yoke shaft. However, if you're uncomfortable with that much disassembly and reassembly, we recommend that you use the controller for a while and the problem will fade away with use."

    Sorry but my experience s completely different. And completely disagree with your summary.
    I love my Velocity and feature wise it knocks the honeycomb for dead. No wobbling on my controls and nor does a friends Velocity either. Yes the multi engine throttles are a little lose but this is easily fixed with some stick-on Velcro pads for $2. As a long term user of the Velocity, l have to disagree with almost everything you said. Maybe you need to actually use it for a little bit to realise how good it really is and how well it works in MSFS.
    Not sure why you are paying so much in the UK . In Australia it can be picked up for as low as $429 (£215) where as the Honeycomb is twice the price and the new version Honeycomb will make it at east 3 times the price and it IS DEFINITELY NOT twice as good let alone three times a good.
