Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flight makes jumping into the cockpit a breeze
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 сер 2024
- The company's first flight yoke controller doesn't stick the landing and is on the pricey side, but it's still a ton of fun to use. Xbox users will be happy to know they finally have a proper yoke solution that works straight out of the box.

Hey guys, Chase here! I see some questions about the head tracking-- I am using the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 to translate my head movements into the game. Reply to this comment with any other questions you have, whether about the VelocityOne Flight or flight sim peripherals in general!
Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video.
You know VR is a thing, right?
@@Bongo2k You wouldn't be able to look at your actual physical buttons, controls, etc.. Would be cool though to have see through high tech VR goggles.
a little helpful advice... when reviewing something like this you should never use other products like in this case "Tobii Eye Tracker Five" which cost an addiction $250. People would want to see exactly how this would work with default equipment included when doing a review. Better to have shown us the view (looking around) using the HAT button or whatever you can use with any or all the Turtle Beach Velocity products included, but nothing added.
Hey Chase. New flight sim. Can you pair any peddles with this velocity one flight on Xbox?
@@jaysonv2I totally agree with you.
Gotta give CNET credit. They have a ton of enthusiast on the ready for just about any category to give detailed and robust reviews. You would rarely get reviews like this outside of a flight sim UA-cam channel. Kudos 👍🏾
Thank you Jason 🙌
@@chaseevans9184 you got it, brother. Keep up the great work!
I always go to CNET for reviews
The mounting system sold me. I’m firmly in the “put everything away once I’m done” camp. Glad you covered that.
That looks totally awesome! I think I will give the Velocity One a try. It looks like something I would enjoy without it being overly complicated.
I’ve had this yoke for over a year now. I love it. My favorite part about it is the little pad below the throttles, they aren’t preset so you can bind them to whatever you want. Although I wish there was more tension for the throttle quadrant
This actually made me think about purchasing as I used to love flight sim games.
used to?
Just do it man, it will bring back the memories!
this is the most extreme streamer setup I've ever seen. Good job Turtle Beach.
You clearly havent seen real flight sim setups...
@@HighFuel90 That's what I'm sayin
I still can’t believe this thing is real. This is it. This is what we have been waiting for for decades.
That was awesome great job title beach team
Very good video. Very well presented.
I have it pre-ordered it...can't recommend enough. I just found out they have rudders now. I'm going to order those as well. Currently using old school saitek rudder pedals(pre logitech)
Thanks for the info. The slop in the yoke was enough for me to decide against getting one.
And what did you go for? Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
I see you’re a fan of Attack Peter, always nice to meet a fellow man of culture.
In the past, I only knew Turtle Beach for their cheapo gaming headsets. This is an interesting move towards a very enthusiast/niche market. I see they took some inspiration from Logitech/Saitek with yoke RGB resembling the Logitech X56 HOTAS flight controller.
One question: What is GNU/Linux compatibility like?
Great info
Like this ! great review - I think the AP features of the ALPHA and the TM Boeing are better options. My inventory seems to be growing !
I couldnt help but notice the detail of the SF Bay Area on your SIM (MSFS ? ) did you add any terrain features ? I am an SF Native and have had trouble getting a satisfying realism for SF. I did use ORBX for XPLANE which was an improvement. NOt sure about MSFS.
Thanks -
Using the prop control on a 152 was kinda funny ;)
It is not cheap. But it looks like a great unit for the beautiful new MS Flight Sim.
Thank you
Small, precise movement on the pitch is a tad juddering? Now I've noticed when using the rudder on the xbox version, the vhs map zooms out? Not traced the error yet?
Awesome 👍
What do I need to buy to look around the airplane like you did in the video
Can we add a pedals controller after for MFS ? or only is possible to to use one control at a time ? I ask because I do not know anything about it and I want to buy this and pedals to trying to get a closer experience to real, thank you for your time to answer
Dont worry mate, I noticed your Star Citizen shirt ;) Good style Cap'n.
Thank you very much
Hi sorry how you make the video on the screen to move when you move your head? Thanks
If you don't have the rudder system then which buttons are used for that?
Can you program the buttons to set up auto pilot?
what do you use so you can turn your head and the screen moves dosent look like your using VR headset?
I think this is really cool, I would buy one
Had to send mine back. The right trigger sensitivity was stuck. Taxi the runway was a nightmare and staying on course was a headache
Three questions. The triggers work as rudders are they pressure sensitive so you can regulate input? Can regular rudder pedals say those from Logitek be used? Will you be doing a comparison between this rig and the Honeycomb yoke and throttle?
Yes the triggers are pressure sensitive, if youre on xbox than I would double check compatibility with those rudder pedals but if you are on PC than you can plug in any assortment of controllers and MSFS will see them all. I may do a comparison between the Honeycomb and this, since I have both. Thanks for the idea!
@@chaseevans9184 Thanks for the reply. I will be running my flight sim using a PC and MS Flight. I had been planning on waiting until the Honeycomb rudder pedals were available and go the who set, but the Turtle Beach looks like it could be a better choice as the design supports my chosen aircraft 152 and 182. However, in setting up a useable cockpit the issue is which offers more value and requires fewer add Ons.
my Dreams...good rev
I got the velocity one joystick but it’s cool I seen u can add pedals and other parts later
How do you changeover view moving head
Does this controller have a way to launch the tool bar ?
Now we need to see some advanced flight controllers like Virpil, VKB, Winwing, etc.
I would love to get my hands on some Virpils and make a video about them, I'll see what I can do about that...😄
You can still open the box even with that little dent on it...
Ikr
No! The whole box is ruined now!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Noooo!! The Agony! Return the product, ask for money back and Demand Compensation in form of a new product!
it's the only way :D
.....
....
..
Yes there is sarcasm implied here for those who don't know.
It is a life lesson, never open a box that’s been penetrated by something/someone you don’t know
i'm getting mine on Christmas day and unboxing it on my channel on stream
What are you using to make the camera move while you turn your head?
This is a great yoke, a little expensive but works well, please be aware though that there is a bug in the software [FS2020] that is preventing save of controller sensitivity settings - its not restricted to this controller either. It really is a big issue as the sensitivity on some axes really does need tweaking to get good response.
Yeah it's affecting my Hotas One as well
@@bfife22 Due for a fix at the end of Feb 2022 fingers crossed
@@dave-j-k did they fix this issue?
@@ToyotaNutjob Yes, saves well now
Flying a stick plane (A320) with a yoke in a review video for said yoke. Nice choice.
I take back my original negative comments, this looks great!
FYI~ on my original xbox one there's eye tracking exactly like this that works with the kinect on battlefield 4
That play on the rod can't be normal, it will just lead to the plastic breaking eventually. This seems to be aimed at higher end sim users so why did they add that detent? The throttle quadrant seems nice, but too many issues with the yoke for that much money.
Several pilot deviations in that flight, better be ready to take down a number to call... 🙂
I'm sure the FAA is frantically checking to be sure I don't have an actual pilots license 😂
does the spring for pushing and pulling deteriorate over time?
would this be overkill for Battlefield 2042 asking for a friend...
How did you get the IR Tracker to work on Xbox console? Isn't that PC based only?
how does the monitors view turn in synchronicity with your head movement?
You put a tracking dot sensor on your forehead, glasses or hat, when you move your head the IR tracker connect to computer via USB cable senses your head turn movements.
Hello. Can you use this on: Aerofly FS 4 Flight Simulator? its on steam and can you use this at pc?
so can this work with racing games also?
wow much cooler then the honeycomb
Hi sir,
how do you chose between Velocity One and TCA of Thrustmaster?
Price
Yep, you did it more than once. The C152 does not have a Constant Speed Prop. Pushing the Prop does nothing.
😂 I was confused on why he did that. It would have been funny if he did that with the a320
@@Dont_Think_Do_Films that is very true. Too bad he didn't xD
I can't seem to find the answer to this... does this yoke only do single engine prop and multiengine jet? Or can it do multiengine propeller as well? Like the DA42 for instance.
Nice Video, love it. How can the cam move like Ur head?
what did you use for rudder control here?
Why no pedals?
how many monitors can i have if doing the simulator on xbox?
No rudder pedals available to integrate with the yoke?
you can plug in any pedals and they will work. (on PC at least)
How did the camera view move together with your head movement?
Track IR
I'm using a Tobii Eye Tracker 5, I highly recommend it but it will take some getting used to.
I wonder how bad the "lag" is between controller and the plane actually following the pitch/bank. Seems to be a bit?
It looks like it responds to the pilot's head tilt, does it not?
Yeah he mentioned that (it's a different product)
How do you get head tracking??
Does anyone know how to bind the buttons for things like parking breaks
At 0:36 you're pulling and turning the yoke and the plane doesn't respond at all. I was expecting a small delay but it didn't respond at all. What's up with that?
I was like how in the world is he controlling the camera with his head? I need to ask...oh.. Thanks for answering! That eye tracker is sweet! Wish they had that for xbox
I wish it had rudder pedals.... as a pilot I hate the guy of flight controls that are "so close" but having a major set of controls moved on me, I don't really like the idea of hopping in an airplane and accidentally trying to use the rudder triggers when I need rudder during a landing....
you can always just buy a set of pedals...
The play is terrible on the yoke, I really hope they fix this along with the poor throttle resistance.
What about rudder pedals?
Can I use it with P3DV4 sim
Gotta have one!!
Just wish someone would make a yoke that works on the sofa/bed for disabled folk. Flight sim is an incredible escape yet its clear that we will never reach a level of immersion as abled folk
You just need someone to build you a 2m flip down table to sit across your bed during the day. Then you can have the yoke and monitor set up on top of it the same way you would for a desk.
Will this work with my T Flight Hotas One Rudder Pedals?
Do you still need the Xbox console or you connect the velocity one flight directly to the TV??
well of course you need the xbox/pc as otherwise how would you be playing the game?
Does this work with Xbox series x?
Is it as good as the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke and Bravo throttle quadrant. It's cheaper the the Honeycomb.
I don’t the rudder is a myth but can we add rudder pedals to this set up
Is there a cheaper version?
IM SO EXCITED TO GET THIS FOR CHRISTMAS(Don’t ask how ik)
The fact that rudder controls are a trigger and not a pair of pedals in honestly a deal breaker for me, other wise is a pretty perfect product and I would buy if it wasn't for that. Maybe in a next gen it'll come with rudder pedals and not a trigger, then I'll buy it
I wonder if I can buy a separate pair of rudders and have them work with the system.
@@jonathanb.1215 Can confirm it works with my flight rudder pedals and this turtle beach setup
@@ZachWhitehead oh well that’s good to know thank you !
The triggers would work great for me in dcs world since I already have rudders
@@fmoney but we don't know if rudders are compatible
Does it work with playstation? If not, whats a good flight sim wheel for playstation?
what's the name of the eye tracker?
Tobii eye tracker 5
I wonder how this would work out for certain Space flight games.
Is it worth tripple the price of a logitech one?
Is it compatible on Xbox one s
Can I play with this yoke on xbox one? With gamepass????
Do the vernier controls acutally operate as vernier, ie. turning them fine tunes the position, as they do in real life? This is more important for the mixture control, so the cable and screw motions should be present to properly simulate that control at minimum.
Great question! The vernier controls do not rotate. Also, sadly the prop mix is useless in MSFS at the moment. Really hoping they change that soon!
@@chaseevans9184 so is mix something that needs done manually??
hello, I have a doubt... Does this product run in Mac x-plane 11?
Does this work on x plane on a mac?
I have a new Velocity One and Logitech Rudder Peddles Now all I want to do is Practice Instrument approaches down to Mins no Scenery required other than the Lights & Runway Threshold. What is better MSFS 2020 or X Plane. Can easily afford both.
Does it work on ps5
what about rudder control???
You should review the Honey Comb yoke and throttle quadrant it’s the most realistic and best feeling flight sim hardware I have ever used
Yeah but its not console compatible
@@Gio-vf1zf there is now an Xbox hub for it but I went for the velocity one which is a very nice yoke but I might get the bravo throttle with it so I have a nice yoke and super awesome throttle because the throttle it comes with is great but the resistance isn’t the best and it’s small
Entry level? what are the professional levels for pc simulators?
Why everyone makes yokes when we need more pedals to the market?!?! 😅
Chase , I have planned to get Dell 34 inch curved monitor.. will that make sense for a good experience?
I highly recommend a G-sync supported monitor for UWHD displays, assuming you own an nvidia card and can afford it!
@@chaseevans9184 I own Xbox series x only . No pc
@@AjK_Reelz As far as I know, XBOX does not support ultrawide HD monitors.
What rudder pedals do you use with this?
you can use the buttons for the rudder pedals
but there is also some real pedals what you can buy from the same brand.
Sometimes when the plane is on autopilot the plane randomly rolls 90° dose this happen to everyone or just me ?
Yes, do you know why it does this. Is it a controller thing?
Good video but on the last part of the video where you are flying a 150 or 152 it does not have prop control they have fixed props
