My desert is half a banana. 1 TBS of no sugar added peanut butter. Half a keto friendly tortilla. I make a wrap out of the banana and PB. I also add a piece of dark chocolate. Total calories about 240 and 10 grams of fiber.
My girlfriend struggles with portion control. When we eat out she often orders large portions meals. Also when ordering a Starbucks drink she gets the biggest size possible with the most extra stuff on top. I think she suffered from food insecurity as a child.
I recently had the gastric sleeve surgery and portion control is huge in order to not get sick. It was recommended to buy smaller plates and silverware to eat smaller. 2/3 of my meals is protein and the rest if any room left, I eat veggies and maybe starchy foods. I have a plate that is divided into 3 parts, protein being half the plate and the other half is divided into two parts for the rest of what I can eat.. maybe this will help a bit for portion control. Just a thought at least.
I used to be a carb junkie and have been gradually cutting back on carbs and sugar. It's surprised me how much my cravings for carbs and sugar have diminished. When I sweeten something, I use clean, natural sweeteners like allulose, stevia and monkfruit. Now, my cravings are for protein. Part of it is attributed to what your gut bacteria gets used to. Minimizing processed foods, paying attention to ingredients and practicing some varied intermittent fasting are key.

Lately I have been on this hard boiled egg obsession. I make enough to have one a day with salt and pepper and it satisfies all craving lol. I have also been trying to incorporate more fruits, like blueberries in smoothies since ive notice how I have been lacking fruits since going on keto. Rebel ice cream is so good!

I'm 64 and on low carb high protein. My food sensitivities are: Gluten, Dairy, Eggs, Soy, Artificial Sweeteners to name a few. Also, I need to follow a fodmap diet. Even though I have alot of sensitivities, I still can easily adapt most of your recipes because you seem to eat clean. I'm disabled, don't move anywhere near as much as I'd like to.and im still losing 2-3 lbs. a week. Thank You Myra for all you do.
Powdered peanut butter is my snack. I watched the peanut butter section and kept waiting for you 2 mention this. 80% less fat than regular peanut butter 1⁄3 fewer calories. I never understood this product until my recent weight loss journey always wondered why people would want powdered peanut butter. The reason is because it is much less fat and to me tastes like real peanut butter. I use cashew milk to mix with. Then add a small amount of dark chocolate microwave for 15 seconds stir it up and it's almost like I'm eating Reese's. I get a nice sweet snack for sometimes under 100 calories or put it at 120 depending on how much pb powder I use. I have also added a few drops of raw honey or pureed strawberries instead Chocolate. This is my sweet Snack also filling. The calorie content of the snack makes it to where I can have it twice a day if I want 3 times a day if I want if I just watch my other calories. I probably go through a jar of this a week ha ha ha.
There's a very good recipe from desserts with benefits UA-cam channel to make a low calorie peanut butter which mixes pb2 with peanut butter and you get half the amount of calories. I tried it and it's better than real peanut butter!
Yes, please do a calorie video. I have always thought that all calories aren't created equal, ie, just making up an example, say an apple and a cookie have the same amount of calories and carbs, wouldn't an apple be easier to digest? TY!

Mac's chicharones or pork rinds that are fried in pork fat are a Godsend for me. I went 12 weeks when I started Keto without a chip or a cracker. So when I found out I could eat those and be on my diet and guilt free I was happy as Hell. The first time having them I got a 12 oz. bag and ate half of that son of a bitch without stopping in my crunch fest. I had a Foodgasm !!!! lol Anyhow I love them I use'em as croutons, chips for my salsas & guacamole's. They have happily taken up the slack for all the crunchy snack food's that aren't a part of my lifestyle anymore. I love'em. I watch your shows glad you make them and have a great day !

I’m 60 and recently retired. Since retiring I have lost close to 55lbs. I’m not so much watching everything I eat but how much and when. Eat the most in the morning and less in the evening. Nothing past 6:00 that way you will naturally fast for 12 hours and most of it will be when you sleep. I will actually even skip breakfast and just have a latte and eat a big lunch but for dinner I have a salad 🥗

Veggies are great but you got to recognize that there are acids that effect people in nightshades, nuts and other plants. They are the plants natural defense from mammals. When I went on a strict elimination diet I realize that I'm very sensitive to nightshades. Nightshade's were what was causing me my fibromyalgia! That's what led me down to researching Sally k Nortons work. Her whole career is in nutrition. She was also very affected by veggies but she was a vegetarian for 16 and had no clue. Very interesting and important to research.
I don’t know much about nightshades but knowing what your trigger foods are is really important on your health journey. Proud of you for taking the time to understand your body! 😊

I wish I knew years ago! I was in horrible pain from tomatoes, onions, peppers..all my faves.. I wish somebody would have told me years and years ago that plants are not perfect and many people can't handle certain groups. People are afraid to offend but discussion is very important. The crazy thing is it's not rare at all... In fact most people cannot tolerate nightshades to some extent. Usually causes fibromyalgia or arthritis like pain. Inflammation. I eat more of a ketovore diet now. I still eat some vegetables that don't affect me.

Kroger grocery company has their own brand of lactose, free, low carb milk! It’s to die for! Called carb master! Absolutely amazing! Three carbs per cup
If I may add yesterday are use protein powder, the plain type has four carbs and two scoops or two carbs in one scoop I used two scoops and placed it into a plastic bag along with about 14 large pieces of breast tenderloins, and I spice it up with my normal spices and I fried it in a little bit of avocado oil and I will tell you it was absolutely amazing. I know I got extra fat because of the avocado oil, but it is a great to do every now and then.😮😊 as far as process carbs like chips that’s a no do for me ever because I can’t just eat a few. I have to have the entire bag and then I go from there into more stuff. Carbs is not a good thing for me if they are processed, have to be honest.

Great video. I have watching your videos on and off for a few years. I Always love them! Oh, and the audio was messed up in the video. Your voice was much lower than the music. But I just turned it up loud, but when the ad came on it was very loud. Lol.
I wish you would do a weekly meal plan to help us newbies understand what and how to eat. I need to loose 25 pounds. I take a lot of medications for 3 different types of arthritis . I cant even think about exercising until I get some Weight off. I just need a guide. I tried golo. I could never remember to take it. Lol.
Just sit down and go through her channel and other channels to find way easy to make low carb meals. Choose 3-4 recipes a week to try and go from there. That's how I started.
My downfall has always been ice cream. I'm not a chip/ cookie person ... but love ice cream. The keto ice cream to me is not very good. But being older now I did lose 60 lbs on keto but the main thing lowered my inflammation. 😊
Same lol, I'm 31 and ice cream has been my weakness. I actually made banana ice cream for the first time today with almond milk and honeyed hazelnuts. Turned out pretty good and it killed my ice cream craving.

I'm not sure if it's healthy but when I get "Chip" hungry I go for deep fried pork rind. Oh, and how about a smoothie using nonfat Greek yogurt, with a little coconut milk (I know a bit fatty but I'm going for the MCT) and a berries like blueberries or strawberries and a teaspoon (maybe two) of monk fruit erythritol blend (bullet blender applied). Sometimes I sub in milkadamia nut butter or peanut butter instead of the berries.
Great video. Can you do one about how to transition from keto to just low carb? i just did and got brain fog that developed into a massive migraine.. I guess it should be done gradually?
I used to have to avoid the peanut butter aisle cos its my weakness but I've been using powder recently and in a much more moderate way like mixed with no sugar yoghurt.

For me fish was really a big help. 1/2-1-3 veggies and the rest meat helped me put my T2 diabetes in remission.

Sometimes I pop whole kernel popcorn in the microwave. I then top it with a little avocado oil, sea salt, cayenne pepper, garlic and onion powder. 😋

If I may add yesterday are use protein powder, the plain type has four carbs and two scoops or two carbs in one scoop I used two scoops and placed it into a plastic bag along with about 14 large pieces of breast tenderloins, and I spice it up with my normal spices and I fried it in a little bit of avocado oil and I will tell you it was absolutely amazing. I know I got extra fat because of the avocado oil, but it is a great to do every now and then.😮😊 as far as process carbs like chips that’s a no do for me ever because I can’t just eat a few. I have to have the entire bag and then I go from there into more stuff. Carbs is not a good thing for me if they are processed, have to be honest.

I wish you would do a weekly meal plan to help us newbies understand what and how to eat. I need to loose 25 pounds. I take a lot of medications for 3 different types of arthritis . I cant even think about exercising until I get some Weight off. I just need a guide. I tried golo. I could never remember to take it. Lol.
Just sit down and go through her channel and other channels to find way easy to make low carb meals. Choose 3-4 recipes a week to try and go from there. That's how I started.
If you get rid of inflammatory foods, you probably won't need medications
My downfall has always been ice cream. I'm not a chip/ cookie person ... but love ice cream. The keto ice cream to me is not very good. But being older now I did lose 60 lbs on keto but the main thing lowered my inflammation. 😊
Same lol, I'm 31 and ice cream has been my weakness. I actually made banana ice cream for the first time today with almond milk and honeyed hazelnuts. Turned out pretty good and it killed my ice cream craving.

Great info, thank you! But you gotta regulate the audio. When you talk it’s a bit low and when adds come on, for earphones wearers it’s a bit uncomfortable.
For carb dense veggies cook then refrigerate for 24 hours then you may reheat to make them more insulin resistant.

I'm not sure if it's healthy but when I get "Chip" hungry I go for deep fried pork rind.
Oh, and how about a smoothie using nonfat Greek yogurt, with a little coconut milk (I know a bit fatty but I'm going for the MCT) and a berries like blueberries or strawberries and a teaspoon (maybe two) of monk fruit erythritol blend (bullet blender applied). Sometimes I sub in milkadamia nut butter or peanut butter instead of the berries.

I used to have to avoid the peanut butter aisle cos its my weakness but I've been using powder recently and in a much more moderate way like mixed with no sugar yoghurt.
