I weighed up all the benefits of the 220 and 250 but went for the 200 sport saloon.
I like manual cars, economy and merc comfort.
It's a sweet ride.
Interior and exterior blow the 3 series out of the water

Hey man..Yeah I don't like how Mercedes cars look at all, especially lately. But I used to own a 2015 3 series which had a really shitty interior compared to the COMP..
I bought the new A4 2 moinths back and this one has a much nicer interior, better quality and it just flat out looks better than the C or 3 in my opinion.

I disagree. You've obviously never driven either of the cars nor do you own them. I am speaking as the owner of both cars (my partner owns a C-Class).
The exterior... no. If you find the C-class better looking then the 3 series you need to get your eyes checked. The 3 series has the most aggressive design and looks way better than the C-Class' bland conservative composition. And that rear design with the tiny tail-lights is a horrible design (even the CLA has a better rear design).
Interior...yes BUT the 3 series isn't bad either, its ergononmically sound and its the oldest interior here. Remember the 3 series came out when the previous gen C class was out and that had a bland interior. Mercedes had at least 2 years to come up with a better interior. Compare the 3 series interior with the previous gen C-Class and you'll see how much better it is.
About the only good thing with the C-class is the interior and comfort. Thats its. Everything else the 3 series runs ring around it. The C-Class is not engaging to drive and is boring as hell. Not to mention the Mercedes Command System is so mediocre and confusing vs BMW's iDrive which is the class leader. The 3 series is also a very comfortable car with the adaptive M suspension which is STANDARD on all cars except the 318i.
And you have to remember the C-Class costs a lot more than the 3 series. In Australia here, its at least $6000 more expensive. And this video has the top specced C-Class with all the bells and whistles that'll push the price even higher. The 3 series is overall a better car - its comfortable but also has the added factor of driving fun and engagement that the C-Class lacks. You're welcome.

Watch their comparison video with the 3 series and XE. You're in for a shock.
In theory this car should replace my W204, however, there are a few rough edges and I am not 100% convinced by its styling. So, I have kept my C250 for another 3 years until I make up my mind and get enjoy its fine high speed ride and ability to shrug off the worst roads in Europe.
Spare strut for the air suspension in about 1,000€, but usually something else breaks before that and is similarly priced. Be ready to sell it when warranty is over.
Really like the exit or and adore the interior. Have been in an S Class, and the ride was brilliant, so with AIRMATIC this should be awesome. Don't like 3 Series, like XE, love C Class, like A4, dislike Lexus IS. If buying of budget would go for C220 with auto, but not on budget would get C350e.

I had a BMW for four years and loved it. My only criticism was the harsh ride on country lanes. For its replacement, BMW, Audi and Merc were in the final three. The Audi was eliminated as it was just too dull and dated. It was close between the Merc and BMW but the Merc interior and ride quality won me over. I am not disappointed by my decision. The test will come in 4 years time, will I stay with MB or move on?
I heard that BMW is more volatile compared with the Audi or Mercedes in road tests....
Lawrence Woodhay How is it so far? I've been a BMW guy since forever but my god MB has almost left the competition in the dust with their newer cars. Hopefully the next gen BMW cars catch up but based on the new 7 and 5-series, it doesn't look good.
+Chris Sorreda The new 5 series is the new class leader, the M760 7 series is epic, the forthcoming 8 series and X7 are going to dominate while the new M5 is extremely promising to kill the E63S. Not to mention the recent M2, M4 CS, the M3/4 Competition are all killer. It looks damn good to me. And you call yourself a BMW guy? Are you sure you're not a Merc lover who doesn't know shit?

dose anyone know where we can get rear window shades that roll up like the S class, i was promised some from my dealer, after 5 months of waiting, it turned up without them, now he is looking for aftermarket ones, if you know where we can get them please

Tony san If you search online, there are some kits but for the dealership to have promised you that from the factory is messed up. Hope you find a good aftermarket one tho

£209 per month company car tax - versus £300+ for equivalent BMW? Also much faster than the equivalent BMW 2 litre engine. Im buying a C300 hybrid thanks ;0)

Hate low saloons; the whole point is to be grand and imposing, not floor-hugging to show off your 6.5 second acceleration
We all know the majority of english people suffer from severe delusion but saying that people will consider buying? No one is buying these new. In the UK's 'unique' future ignorant (a.k.a that-will-do-for-now) economy buying or financing a car like this will leave you in an eye watering negative equity. Same Audi and BMW mind. Lease it for ca., £2500 initial payment and £280+VAT per month for 2 or 4 years (4 or 8K per annum milage). You won't be commuting far because lets face it your infrastructure is fucked and its easier to keep renting everything than buying anything other than a toilet brush. Leave buying and cherishing cars for years to come and possibly handing it down to the kids for the Europeans.
This ca looks nice, however the F30 BMW looks nicer, the inside of the beemer alzo looks a tad nicer, the huge tablet like screen inside hideous and those three enomous rounds look cheap..sorry but beemer still leads this class, they have been for a very long time, it will take something special to de throne the beemer in this class..
I feel bad for people who drive right hand cars its just awful. U miss all the fun. For instance ur infotainment controller on the left u have to use ur left hand to use that and to shift u have to use ur left hand, just awful experience u missing all the fun. its like u r left handed. Lol
If you learned to drive right hand drive then it just feels normal, you get used to it 😂
