Cargo Trailer Winch Mount Fabrication and Install

After giving an overview of what I had in an economy cargo trailer, I immediately proceeded to add improvements. First thing was the additional of a 9k winch. Enjoy. Preston.

You can do it! An inexpensive wire welder and a portable bandsaw along with a drill motor. That's all it takes and you would use them more in the future. ~P

Looks great! I'll be installing mine when I get home from work here. I'm curious how you went about running power to it? Batteries charging off the truck from the 7pin? Or a 0/1/2 gauge running direct from the batteries to the winch with a quick disconnect?

In the very last frame of the video you can see the pair of batteries I wired in. I will eventually charge off the tow vehicle but for now, I keep them topped off with a small solar charger. ~P
