ROG Ally X will be still smaller and with non detachable controller. The X1 will still be squeezing out a few more frames and has a way bigger real estate. I am getting the X1 because I like the bigger screen and the easy of expansion to a larger m.2-SSD. Also the Oculink gives me the option to connect the ONEXGPU with higher performance. But this is my use case. You need to figure out how and where you use your device.

ally is pauper-like 7inch FHD console, this is 10Inch with 2K resolution, also has 32gb of RAM, you can set the VRAM to 16Gb and play Ratchet and Clank, try that on ally if you match resolution to ally, this will be tad faster, but dont forget you get 10inch screen + full real tablet and real laptop

This form factor doesnt make sense to me. You can get a older lowest end version of the Z13 flow for around 1K which would run circles around this. Legit handhelds make sense. Bigger tablets using same specs as much smaller handhelds, do not. If the purpose is gaming, that is.

I've had nearly 14 of these handhelds and I always lean towards the ones with higher resolutions. There is a noticeable difference between 1600p and 1080p even at 11". And there are literally thousands of older generation games, modern indie games (a handful of modern AA games) and thousands of emulated games that can benefit from higher resolutions and framerates that devices like this provide. And that's not even including the benefits of media consumption, graphical programs and general PC tasks.

You’re paying for the form factor. You can’t carry around your main PC and play it on the train. For a windows handheld running an AMD GPU this one offers the best performance so far.

Not really, can't use ally another other way than handheld and docked. No one is buying this just as a handheld lol so you gotta think about that, they are going to use all 3 functions like the video shows. Has more more value than a little 7 inch handheld. I'm getting one of these too, will be using all 3 ways to play, tablet, mini laptop and handheld. Way more value VS ally

They wobble very slightly, not enough to worry about them, they are very secure.
