Just wanted to update this review. Year 4, with a bit of sharpening I'm still thrilled with this Auger! This is an excellent Auger. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxe0I-fnTUByahTCyStrIBXsesSkQJKn8n It splits to 1/2 size for storage in the warm months and easily assembles for winter use. I can cut holes in less than a minute by and really don't feel the need to ever adapt this to use with a drill. It cuts easily with the included blades (which can be sharpened or replaced as needed) and has held up extremely well through last season, and now for the first cuts of this season. I do recommend this to anyone who asks, and personally prefer this over powered augers. These are quiet, still quite fast, lighter, and don't risk spilling chemicals into our waterways. I plan to do a lot of fishing this year through the ice, thanks to this trusty Auger. The 8" diameter is great for fishing pike through the ice as well.
Stop reeling while line is being taken out all your doing is twisting the line. Friendly advice. Use the rod to move the fish then reel down and repeat
Rig that I use is a 3/4oz sinker with about 6-10 beads to a treble hook. That’s what I use for sturg on the Croix through the ice. . Give it a shot sometime
Nice fish! A proper measurement needs the tape on the floor so you don't follow the contour of the fish to gain more inches. Still probably 70" though and a helluva fish. Also, check out piscifun reels. A size 4000 will have over 30 pounds of drag and you won't stress the fish as much out or get as much line twist from reeling while the drag is going. I hope to get up there this winter and catch a few big dinos
Don’t know where you’re from, but a jig pole, a pink jig, and some wax worms are all you need to catch dinner. Don’t try to get fancy, fish close (respectfully) to other shacks. The old timers always know the best spots on the lake. A vexilar also makes it a little bit more fun and productive
How far up the river should a guy try? I tried up towards royal Dutchman first week of March last winter an never got a bite 3 different spots... jist wondering what I could of been doing wrong?
I’m not sure but did anyone catch her name “Lisa” Lisa way to go, Lisa…..Lisa. Lisa what are we up to Lisa?! Hahahaha good stuff Lisa. Lisa good fishing Lisa. One more time Lisa
Measuring the fish over the top not the way to do it. Unfortunately we may never know the size because it wasn’t two inches bigger than lisa omg lisa. Great fish, but your quality of production is so much better than that.
You can't eat sturgeon, they're endangered...because we ate too many of them. They take literally 45 years to be able to spawn, so they cannot replace their numbers very easily.
@@davidmartinez9993 the one that I have the tip snapped the first time I had it out. I didn’t do anything to it, just randomly snapped. It could’ve just been a one in a million thing though. I don’t think they’re necessarily bad rods myself though.

Dude on the phone is a time traveler...
Where the hell is Aaron Weibe?????
Amazing!
And on a dinner bell
70"
Too bad didn't get girth
And almost 100# at 50 years old
Way to go Lisa. Why was the cameraman focused more on the guy with the mouth than on you who actualy caught the fish?
That first fish definitely went belly up to the ice after you got done mulletsing it. And the "70"er"
does peric know about this channel??
Never watched this channel, but you look like Aaron Rodgers
This is epic!
Must be a old video cause there’s no ice there yet I know I live here
Black beard at it again. #bestfrostbitevideographer

This channel has more output then both of the c.e.o of frostbites sexlife

That would be the Rainy River just off Lake of the Woods. Rainy is the boundary between Minnesota and Ontario...my back yard
So exciting!
If it isn’t Aaron I ain’t watching!
Sick 🤙🏻

Hell yeah let’s go Brandon
Are u kidding me....
Tighten your drag oh, it's so loose you shouldn't have to reel after listen to it like it's like it's peeling
Measuring the fish over the top not the way to do it. Unfortunately we may never know the size because it wasn’t two inches bigger than lisa omg lisa. Great fish, but your quality of production is so much better than that.
Aaron I’d probably discontinue this guy doing the hosting tbh
Jesus Christ-Doesn't anyone eat fish anymore????

@@KermitTheGamer21 Thank you for the clarification. I had no idea. I wish you a very long, happy, healthy, and financially secure life Kermit!
Frostbite rods are absolute garbage rods.
What makes you say that? I'm legitimately curious, I just ordered several and haven't tried them out yet

I would hate to fish with that guy. Annoying and seems like a dbag. "Oh my gosh!"
Weird just Weird . Theit mot legal to Eat ? squeeze them for roe/caviar ? :)
Not sure if that's legal either. And I definitely wouldn't want to do that to a fish that takes 45 years to spawn.
Typical UA-cam fishermen, always gotta overreact to every fish they catch and always using the same stupid little fishing quotes👎👎
I'd have enjoyed watching the fishing a lot more if I didn't have to listen to the 'hammered guide'.
Hate to comment again, but this video is less fishing then is sexual tension isn’t it….Lisa?!
Shit, music was unbearable few minutes in. Can't finish this shit.
