- A New Kawasaki ZX6R is due to be announced VERY SOON and today we look over and talk about what we can expect about the next generation 600CC SuperSport.
The iconic 636 Ninja from Kawasaki, one of the last truly great 600CC SuperSport motorcycles on the market is going to be seeing an update for 2024, and let me tell you, it seem’s like it’s hanging on for dear life. We’ve got some news that there is an updated model on the way and today we’l be discussing exactly what we can expect.

Great 600 cc bikes! - I'm 60 years old - and for some weeks I drove the R6 of my sun for 2 hours - and I enjoyed it very much...especially at 15000 revs...
I think everyone was expecting a more significant update than it ended up being... still a nice refresh maybe
I love that Kawi is staying true to the cheater 636. The new gen would not be worth it over older models (13-19 namely) as I don't feel it really needs wheelie control and such.
Is it for beginners?
@@genesisaguilar1652 I thnk a beginner could ride it yes, but probably learn more on a smaller bike in my opinion
@@Alic_R1 Alright, Thank you so much!
@@genesisaguilar1652 no bro ,should start from R3 or ninja 400
A new brighter display is expected too. Thanks for the details.
Had the 06 636 was such a great bike rode the newer version too so smooth bet this is gonna sell like hot cakes
I agree with your assessment completely....especially the updates to the electronics. I felt this should have been done already honestly. I was complaining about the dash being a tired design back in 2020. To me the ZX6 is the most complete bike in this class and I liked it much better than my 2021 ZX10 even with all the bells and whistles it has. I hope they do everything you predicted. Take care man!
Daytona for me
Love the zx6r!! Zx6r is my Dream bike! My top 2 600s is Zx6r and Aprilia rs660.
Got my RE’s today thank to your breakdown vid on how to get you motorcycle license
how easy was it? i wanna go for it soon
Was going to get a 2023 ZX6R but was lacking the technology the new ZX4RR has, no doubt the new ZX6R will come with all the bells and whistles, will be pre ordering one, who knows when they will arrive in Aus sadly.
hey kjack... Would his bike be anywhere on your radar for an upgrade ? 😉
ZX-6R. Good Bike.
If they add all those goodies and don’t go nuts on the price I can see it selling well in the US especially for race bikes
I wonder if a proper full system and tune could lead to this bike being more powerful than previous models.
My guess it's going to have a redesigned aesthetic maybe more aerodynamic and tft and that's it.
I believe it will be only restricted through mapping and exhaust and no hardware changes on the engine and tranny so a flash and an aftermarket full exhaust would probably solve that restrictions. but yeah, it would be illogical if the lower zx4rr can have the QS/AB and TFT while the 600 would not in the current update.
Can only hope so… please be right.
Not sure whether the updates are specifically for euro5 as most have been reporting and rather take the zx4rr approach that the US model has, to stay within noise regulation limit throttle at higher rpm. Something that points to this is that the US kawasaki website has an announcement with a zx6r looking bike advertised for the 6th of June, while neither the UK or the German website have this. Additionally I don't think the rev limit is going down, as some have reported. Just where the peak power is made, similar to the zx4rr in the US once again. As someone from the EU, I do hope that they actually bring back the 636 here though, but I'm not super confident.
What was the redline on existing model
All they have to do is at 64 more cc and lower the revs. That would be more street friendly
To be honest the current zx6 is basically just a tweaked zx6 that was introduced in 2009. It is such an old platform, just like the r6 actually is.
Was planning to buy a zx6r but waiting for the digital dash ver
me too lol!! I hope it has a beautiful white color
At my local cycle shop they have and are selling the 2023/Yamaha r6 , it was there a couple weeks ago , might of sold , but the 2023 r6 has no lights , no blinkers , no exhaust restrictions, and you are not supposed to ride it on the highway street, cause it’s ready for the track … I should go by there and take some pics and video on it , it was selling for around $16,000 dollars 💸 for a track weapon only bike …
Is there an SE zx4R ? Also do you happen to know what the full exhaust weight is on the zx4?
There is an SE model, unfortunately not in all regions though incl Aus
A 4 inch riser on the handlebars would do wonders for their sales.
4 inches ???? might as well get a ninja 1000sx
@@KellerFkinRyanright
Bro nah. People get them for the low clip ons. You can just get handle bars for it if you want
Hey kwackajack, quick question. do you think the price of a ninja 400 will go up, or down in the next 2 years ?
Good question, the price New will go up. But over time there will be more used ones. As time goes on and those used models get older, the price of those will go down.
Honest question, i’m learning about this stuff still - What happens when consumers run out of money to spend due to them reaching their own “debt ceiling” ie maxing out their credit cards despite high rates and high cost of living? Seems like a lot of people are spending money they don’t have..
I don’t think there will be three versions, I think 1 of them will be for European markets, and the other will be for US markets. Going rr like the zx4 is just going to increase the price to the point you might as well just get a zx10. I have 2 Zx6’s & even I wouldn’t pay an msrp of $15k+ for a 600.
Dont forget the quickshifter up and down with no minimum rpm
I just wanted to have a long view of the bike, but most of the time was you on the screen
Coming from the Philippines, with the ZX6R's initial price of entry and the cost of maintenance, it's difficult justify buying this track weapon for daily/city use(PH setting). But I still want one. hahaha. Hopefully the price won't increase even with all the new features since they're still taking away some power out of it. Though with the way motorcycle prices are heading now, I'm not too hopeful.
They are adding electronics so if it's true then it would probably be at least +70-100kphp for the rr version
@@motojoe7493 Yeah probably for the RR version but if they upgrade the regular R version with not so track spec electronics, I'm hoping it won't get too expensive.
Nothing than an exhaust change and remapping can't fix.
Sad, just, sad... Another power cut😢
That why I'm keeping my 2018 636
No chance the new Zx-6r gets the Zx-10r facelift. The shadow on the website has the same front end as the standard model. Especially since they just came out with the zx-4r with no facelift, and knowing the zx-6r is only years away from the chopping block, I can say with almost complete certainty that it will be old styline. I do belive, however, that the TFT dash will be standard on the new 2024 model.
throttle by wire / tft dash / bi directional q/s probably the last 5 years from the update then it will get cut i gotta make sure to get one or a zx4rr to keep
@@Khmersupra yeah exactly, same electronic package as the 4rr
@@Khmersupra Dude, do not get a 4rr. There is absolutely no reason to buy one. The value of that bike is horrendous. Shouldn't even be part of the zx line with only 25 ft-lbs of torque. Im pretty sure I could push that thing faster off a dig.
Euro emission are the woke regulations of twitter lol.
I'd be upset if they ever get rid of it. I have the 23 zx10r and 13 zx6r. I love my 10 better. But if they add everything to the 6 that's on the 10 just smaller motor. I'd love it. I'm so tired of emissions that's so small with bikes compared to factories all over China and such destroying way more then little bikes. And supercars too. SMH leave us riders alone. We delete all the emissions the first week anyways
Cutting the power sucks.
These emission BS regulations but not applicable to jets or container ships
ikr...rediculous...and China industrial pollution puts every other country to shame.
I wonder, are people buying less 600s because there are fewer and fewer companies making them? Or are there fewer manufacturers making them because people truly don't want them.
It always seemed like the sweet spot to me. Not pokie by any means, like smaller bikes can be, but not as unforgiving the s**t-hot liter bikes nowadays.
Sportbikes in general have had a lot less sales than in the 90s and 00s. Pair that with the high development costs, especially with ever stricter emissions regulations and they've become a much rarer thing
Samson has cut his hair
Welp... they're out now aaaand nope not worth it, get a 2023 or older and hope that the headgasket doesn't go like it did on mine after only 3k miles
How hot was the engine, where do you live? Was your ECU flashed, new slip-on? Lean running engines run hot. New Euro 5(dumb) standards probably make it run very hot.
@UltimateEnd0 it was bone stock with a slip on, and now I'm being told it was never the head gasket (even tho they rebuilt it now). I have a lawyer looking into just getting my money back because it's been getting "fixed" for the past 8 months now, and in my state, it's considered a lemon.
yogurt ?
Has anyone in Australia taken the time to look at Honda that is trying to flog a Honda 600rr for $29.412 but a Yamaha r1m is $29.349 rideaway what the hell Honda bit high on your morals sorry but no one's going to pick a 600 over a 1000 Yamaha
import costs baby. in the us the yamaha is over double the price of the honda, as it should be, at $12,099 and $26,999
Hahaha yes, Honda has lost it lol
Don't even get me started on Honda Australia. Especially as they only offer neutered learner verions of the 650R. 😒
Basically they have nothing to offer a full licenced rider in their sports or streets range unless you're keen to sell your organs to afford it. The hornet only being a very recent exception.
It depends, I would pick a 600 over a 1000, even for the same price, I prefer the in-line 4 sound and smaller body, some people don't like 1000, unless you are going to race, in the street you are going to enjoy much more a 600 than a 1000.
