@@777komikazy nice bike, have you had a chance to ride the aprillia rsv4 1100 and kinda make a comparison? I was looking at the rsv4 but the down time if anything goes wrong was too much so I went with the zx10r SE.. still wanted that v4 engine for the beautiful handling qualities

I poured over forums, watched every papa yam video I could. I went and sat on bikes, asked every question I possibly think of. I finally decided to go with a Yamaha R3. I could learn and get skilled before I stepped up to a larger more powerful bike. Them one day, I was offered a naked 2007 ZX6R in trade for an old truck I had. The spirit of kyle took over my soul, and in an absolute chad moment I said fuck it and made the trade. Best decision I've ever made. Is the learning curve rather steep? will i probably manage to hurt myself on this bike? have I managed to accidentally rip some nooners? Yes, Yes, Yes. But riding this thing is absolutely the most fun I have ever had, and I couldnt be happier with it.
Yammie, the volume of knowledge you drop in the history section is mind boggling. Even if you wrote the manufacturer and asked for a history, it’s clear you made it your own in the narration and it’s entertaining as hell.
I had a 2013 636 brand new from the dealer, loved every second of it. I put 44,000+ miles on it with in 3 to for years of owning it. Never had a problem with it, not once. Had great steering feel, maybe better than my new to me 2017 zx10r. Not sure yet on the zx10r havent been able to ride it much yet, but if you want a 600cc bike go with a zx6r/636 2013 or newer and you will love it.

Very curious on your overall feedback for your bike considering I have the same year but have not owned it nearly as long as you. As they say “ A wise man learns from others mistakes, and a foolish learns on his own” lol
BJN 6 I haven’t abused it or stunted it so it’s just always worked as it should without any issues. (Did have to rebuild front master cylinder but it’s been fine ever since) I even neglected it for 4 years and was going to sell it a couple of times. But once I would get it ready to ride for sell I would ride it and fall in love again. I haven’t done any crazy mods either, just a slip on, servo buddy, tank grips, and windscreen. I’m located in a place with lots of curves and mountains so the 600 class is plenty fast enough and the extra 36/37 cc is honestly perfect for my area. Also it seems the demand for 03 to 06 is on the rise and values for clean ones are going up.
BJN 6 It was also my first street bike so I’m biased. The only other 600s I’ve ridden are an early 00s F4I, Katana 650, 06 CBR600RR, 09 Daytona 675. I don’t like the sitting position on the Honda’s listed you feel more on top of the F4I and 600RR. The Katana was an outdated boat compared to the zixxer. And although the 675 had good low end grunt it just felt like it ran out of steam up top.
2012 owner here. Have loved every minute of riding. I’d like a 636 but enjoy having the last year of the 600. That 2013 facelift is just so good looking though that it has always been tempting.

I have a 2000 ZX6R as my first bike and absolutely love it. Plenty of power, very forgiving and can recommend it to anyone starting out on bikes. My next bike will definitely be an updated version of the same model, if I can ever say goodbye to this one that is 😉
My daily is a 05 zx6r 636. The bike did have a lot of issues at first. Bought it on Craigslist. 10 days later... Stator went out along with the rectifier. Definitely put some money into it but at the end of the day was 100% worth it.. the powerband is crazy on this bike after 8k it takes off ,(take in mind tac goes to 17k) much love for Kawasaki
I've had my 2001 ZX6R for over a year after i wanted to graduate from my YZF600R (yes, ive had both 😂) it's got over 70,000 miles, and i can get it to keep up with my friends who have newer bikes!
Have a 1999 Zx6R and it is still alive and well, it is my 1st bike and pretty much all I have riden. Seems very capable and has had only generic things that needed replaced. I am the 3rd owner and I couldn't be more satisfied with this mean green machine! Kwikazfuki.
I love my 2004 ZX6R. 36000km driven, absolutely pristine condition. I prefer to keep it that way. Only problem is that, it might not be the best for everyday use. But boy is it fun to drive to work everyday. At 100kmh/60mph revs are 6000rpm. Of course the redline is over 15k, but it tends to draw maybe too much attention on daily basis. Also Finnish roads are not the ideal smooth asphalt after winter, but still i love it for my whole heart. Used to drive enduro/supermoto before, but after testing my friend 636, i messaged him 4 hours later. "Hey, i got one too!" Just do your mainteance, and its bike for a lifetime.
i own a 2011 model, was my favourite supersport at the time, very good kit as standard, and it was dominating many a world championship at the time. even 10 years later, it's still a very pretty and capable bike in my opinion as this class hasn't had the massive technology and performance increases that the superbike class had and needed. as a result, as an amateur trackday rider, i can still hang with most of the riders in my group, and the bike is certainly capable of more than what i'm willing to push it to.
I got a 2000 zx6e as my first street bike, I’ve ridden dirtbikes all my life, few Harleys but it was a pleasant but scary experience good power, pretty forgiving started rippin dank nooners on it, absolutely love the bike ( I’m 16 it’s been hell of a ride) thank ya yammi
Quick tip those of us bikers that have a f,g,j zx6r the front tokiko breaks are crap so swap them out for nissin calipers from a Suzuki bandit 1200. Much better stopping power
Just picked up my third ZX6R, a 2020. It's funny when you get on a brand new bike and the miles from the other bikes carry over. It fells fresh but familiar. Familiar but still exciting. Exciting but comfortable. If you get the chance to ride one, go for it!
I owned a 92 ZZR 600. And overhere in Europe the bike made 98HP. The ZX6R made well over a 100hp - I think 108. Dry weight was 185kg. Back than that was really light for a 600. Performance was awesome. And still is really. I know own a ThunderCat, you know, for old time sakes.
I am a 5 day old rider and I bought this bike for my first one, 2012 with 4.5k miles. When you twist the throttle it feels like your entering into warp drive
Haha, maybe I’m the third owner of that 05 636. The first owner is a racer and it has obviously seen better days. Got my license on probation with the beast. Yet, I still can’t stop riding. Lucky to have her and my life, though.
Crying makes you feel better. We Suzuki Boyz know all about that. The tears just get wiped away too quickly when you're on a turbo Busa doin 300miles an hour
I was fortunate enough to buy the 04 636 for just $1000. I was pretty new to the biking world. And I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It blew my sv650s out of the water. It was a big learning curve but, I got to say but I'm hooked now. Kawi for life!
2019 owner here as well. Traction control, ABS (a little more $), and a factory quick shifter. Got it with the $1,000 discount which went towards an extended warranty and frame sliders installed by the dealer. Bought it because I got my ass handed to me by a Dodge Hellcat while on my Yamaha FZ6R while at a stoplight. Overall was less money than the R6 and more power. Shift light is kind of lame though, the R6's is better.
It’s the same bike with LED’s and quickshifter lmao, I have a 2016 ABS ZX6R and I put a quick shifter and did a headlight swap and it’s about the same. Front part is a bit different also with styling.
I own a 2015 ZX6R, and I dropped a valve at 22.000 kms... ( I think i was unlucky with my unit because I haven't seen many other >2013 models having the same issue). Despite that, it's a bike that makes you love riding bikes and gets the attention wherever it goes. I'm switchin to a BMW because my needs have changed but I'll probably buy another ZX6R in the future!
Man this video comes out just 2 days after a car pulled out in front of me and hit my white and black 2013 mint 636. Walked away with nothing more than small scrape on my leather. Was a slow speed hit as I was just coming from a stop sign and had not even shifted to 2nd gear. While I feel super lucky I am still so pissed. I have had so many bikes in my life and this has been by far my fav. Just the right everything IMO. Brought it up to the dealer Saturday and now waiting to hear what the cost will be. The driver who hit me did have insurance but still know I am going to have pay out of pocket for some of it. Frame sliders and rear impaktech subcage pegs saved as much as it could but front cowl, side fairing, front tire fairing, and rotor are the big money items. Not sure what the bike is worth but at any cost 90% is cosmetic so will see how it plays out with insurance. SMH
I am so glad you did this video lol. I’m in a motorcycle group on Facebook and literally out of the approximate 100 or so people in the group, only about 3 of us have a ZX6R. I love the bike and an “underrated gem” perfectly describes it. Power modes, traction control, and ABS while Yamaha, Suzuki, and Honda we’re still twiddling their thumbs. Then there’s the 636 engine. Laugh all you want, but the ZX6R puts down the most stock power out of all its compadres and it looks great too. I think the previous gen (2013 - 2018) is still the best looking 600cc sport bike. I have a white and black one. Beautiful.
Just bought tickets prepped 2019 ZX6R...second owner....first one out 1011 street km on it , had it converted to a track bike and never road it again...he had C$34,000 into it....I paid considerably less and it is ready to race.
The 2019-2022 ZX6R has the 30% in gearing reduction. These things accelerate like monsters! I owned a 2007 GSXR 1000 for 3 years, I just purchased a 2019 ZX6R, and I am flabbergasted at how hard it freaking accelerates..I sold my 2007 GSXR 1K to buy the 2019 Ninja 636 zx6r, and I do not regret it one but. It’s an animal. It rushes to 140 mph like it’s nothing, and I weight 237 pounds.
Back in 2018 I got a 2015 30th anniversary zx6r left over for a steal of 10k out the door. It had 1mile on it and was just sitting on the showroom floor for 3years and the dealer had to get rid of it. That was my dream bike and now we're happily married for two years
I had an 05’. Wonderful bike, I absolutely loved it. But my 19’ feels so much better. The powerband, the cornering, you just feel so much more locked into the bike, and in total control. I also love how you can unleash the beast so to speak in turning traction control off. Even traction control at its lowest kills the bike down a big notch. But when it’s off and you rip that throttle, hold tf on 😂 my 05’ did 165, (dash said 175, so just seeing that alone added to the rush) new one will touch 163, but you can’t hold it there. Needless to say, the new 636 still feels quicker
I've put about 7,500 miles on a ZX6R (between a 2019 and 2020). I have yet to turn off TCS and just leave it on 1. My question is...will I accidentally do wheelies when going full throttle in the lower gears? I guess I've been scared to turn it off as I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks
Getting mine soon, the kawi green ver 2019,gonna be my first sport bike after i rode my friend r6 for a lil while for some more practice, it was very fun and easy for me,cant wait to get back on 2 wheels
i have a 02 636 and true gearbox have some problems in the 3rd gear but i just swaped to the zx9r gears and tune it with other sporkets ... now is immortal
I bought the 03 ZX6RR when it hit the showroom and rode the SH¡T out of that bike. The only problem I ever had with that bike was when it decided to turn a stoppie into a front flip. It took 6 months to fix and it felt brand new once it was back on the road.

Yup... The 90s color schemes are hot. No one believes me my dude. I love it
Still loving my 09 ZX-6R. Wonderful wonderful wonderful bike.
Have the same bike! Same year.
2019 ZX6R here. Nothing but love.
2012 ZX6R Owner here, and my Scarlett is the a pleasure to ride :) Love that this bike is getting some spotlight on your channel
I have a 2000 ZX6R as my first bike and absolutely love it. Plenty of power, very forgiving and can recommend it to anyone starting out on bikes.
My next bike will definitely be an updated version of the same model, if I can ever say goodbye to this one that is 😉
Keep it !!! I would..
I have an 03 and it’s not forgiving at all 😩
One of the best bikes. I prefer it over the R6. The engine just screams.
Owner of a 2020 ZX6R black and red. I absolutely love it. What a great bike.
Was able to score an 06 ZX6R that was a little banged up but has a strong motor. Absolutely love it.
1996 ZX-6R were one of the GO TO bikes when I was in College still love the looks of that bike today.
Love my '06 ZX-6R, 636 😋 had it for 2 months so far and put 2000kms on it 🤘
i own a 2011 model, was my favourite supersport at the time, very good kit as standard, and it was dominating many a world championship at the time. even 10 years later, it's still a very pretty and capable bike in my opinion as this class hasn't had the massive technology and performance increases that the superbike class had and needed. as a result, as an amateur trackday rider, i can still hang with most of the riders in my group, and the bike is certainly capable of more than what i'm willing to push it to.
Been almost 3 months since I got my '19 ZX-6R. She's a keeper!
The gem for stunting.. y'all know this bike is for the stunting world.😊
I ride a 21 Ninja 400 right now. I’m getting a ZX6R come next Spring. I cannot wait. I’m in my mid 30s and it’s been my dream bike since I was 15!
I bought an 06 zx6r just about a month ago. Best thing I have ever purchased possibly. 😁
How is it? Im looking at one right now, thinking of jumping from a ninja650 to the infamous 636
600cc supersport for a first bike is a brilliant idea ! Hope you won't fly away on it ! :D
5 days old and riding a 636, impressive! 🤣
The technology on the ZX6R should become the safety standard for all motorcycles ( ABS, Traction Control, Drive mode selector, suspension, etc.).
Love when I’m looking for a specific type of video (like this one) and I see there is one by yammy noob!!!!
I was fortunate enough to buy the 04 636 for just $1000. I was pretty new to the biking world. And I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It blew my sv650s out of the water. It was a big learning curve but, I got to say but I'm hooked now. Kawi for life!
Underrated??? I thought we all loved that gem
My '04 ZX6R is a dream for a first bike! Been riding since 8/19
I miss my ‘14 ZX6R. It really is a perfect all around sport bike
As a 2019 owner I kinda wish you could say more about the 2019 except for the price 😁 also would be cool if you'd ridden one in your review 😅
found the guy too cool for an r6
2019 owner here as well. Traction control, ABS (a little more $), and a factory quick shifter. Got it with the $1,000 discount which went towards an extended warranty and frame sliders installed by the dealer. Bought it because I got my ass handed to me by a Dodge Hellcat while on my Yamaha FZ6R while at a stoplight. Overall was less money than the R6 and more power. Shift light is kind of lame though, the R6's is better.
@@brandoloudly9457 found the guy who doesn't own both
It’s the same bike with LED’s and quickshifter lmao, I have a 2016 ABS ZX6R and I put a quick shifter and did a headlight swap and it’s about the same. Front part is a bit different also with styling.
Did it send you to the moon?
I own a 2015 ZX6R, and I dropped a valve at 22.000 kms... ( I think i was unlucky with my unit because I haven't seen many other >2013 models having the same issue). Despite that, it's a bike that makes you love riding bikes and gets the attention wherever it goes. I'm switchin to a BMW because my needs have changed but I'll probably buy another ZX6R in the future!
I'm learning again, my first bike was the 1988 750R, & today it's my 2023 636 zX-6R
Watching this back 7 months ago I didn’t know I would be owning one now haha I bought a 03 zx6r today and i fucking love it
2017 ZX6R KRT owner .. and i am PROUD of it :)
A show on the H2 would be sick🔥🙏
H2 is out of his league
PLEASE Show the GSXR boys some love!
Probably your best video yet...
My uncle had slightly stretched 2007 ZX6R it was tuned and also had m4 slip on let me tell you that thing was fucking loud and hauled ass😂
Back in 2018 I got a 2015 30th anniversary zx6r left over for a steal of 10k out the door. It had 1mile on it and was just sitting on the showroom floor for 3years and the dealer had to get rid of it. That was my dream bike and now we're happily married for two years
Glad you like my bike ;)
I don't see a lot of sport bikes around here anymore. I had a 93 ZX6e. and that was a good comfortable ride.
Thanks
I have a first gen 636 and it makes me the happiest man on earth
Getting mine soon, the kawi green ver 2019,gonna be my first sport bike after i rode my friend r6 for a lil while for some more practice, it was very fun and easy for me,cant wait to get back on 2 wheels
Nah, i want a Zx-25R
awh a little baby bike
hope they sell it outside Asia too!
@@Kareem_Alcindor Actually I think it hits 100mph in 5th gear. Good stuff!
i want the old zx 25r that just screams and doesnt go that fast lolll
Gotta love those 250cc in-line 4’s
I love the look of the under tail exhaust, I think they stopped doing that on the zx6r in 09
Literally the only person on the planet who "underrates" this bike is you
Super nice bike and a very good video, I loved it as its been a while since you did a specifically kawasaki video (abselutly love kawasaki)
Thank you so mch for making this video😎
anyone apart of the 4% watching this? 🙋♀️
😎🤙🏽
We need more female riders!!!!
probably you are a dude undercover :P
🤘🏻🤘🏻
😎✌
the 600 version of the ZX-6R is still being offered by Kawasaki, just check their Japanese website, you can find it there.
i have a 02 636 and true gearbox have some problems in the 3rd gear but i just swaped to the zx9r gears and tune it with other sporkets ... now is immortal
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! I haven't even watched the video yet but I've been waiting on you to say something about this bike lol.Texas up
I bought the 03 ZX6RR when it hit the showroom and rode the SH¡T out of that bike. The only problem I ever had with that bike was when it decided to turn a stoppie into a front flip. It took 6 months to fix and it felt brand new once it was back on the road.
Have you seen what fish do in water? I have. There's no way I'm drinking water after seeing that 😂
Yammie I’ve loved motor all my life but have only owned a few trials and dirt bikes am now 51 years old and am going to get my license this summer thinking once I pass am gonna get one of those ZXR 400 am too old for a gsxr 1000 though there Fukking cool, love your you tube postings stay cool bro
7:02 Yamaha R6 with 36 extra cubes of displacement.
What are your thoughts about this bike as a first bike for someone who hasn't ridden street bikes, but is capable on dirt?
Things you missed- the J series. Things you didn’t miss- any opportunity for an ad.
not a sport bike fan but rode this bike today and it may have started me back on the slippery slope to my doom.
It's nice to see Kawasaki revive the zx6r, I had an 08 and was somewhat dissapointed in the performance. Switched to 18 Suzuki gsx-r absolutely love it, only complaint is the brakes being a little too soft. Sure tempted to trade up for the new Kaw
Thank you for the review.
went from a 2002 ragged out r6 to a 07 zx6r a few months ago, i honestly think the r6 is faster but the zx6r is so much nicer
