Hey thanks for watching the video!
The mixing of the feed is impressive. It is interesting to see what the ingredients are.
That's right .. paint it black !
Forgot: That was a Hell of a recipe. I wouldn't have bet that all that mixture would have fit inside that mixer...Whoa 😮😮😮.
Excellent camera positions / views. Good move filling up with gas - as the Boss Man would not be happy if he had to come out to rescue again so soon for the same problem.
🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜🚜
Every good farm worker carries a pocket knife! 😃😃😃
Black gold❤
Jan, I get exhausted just watching your videos. Dang, you're always on the gooooooo. Lol. Great 👍 video, til the next.
Diversity, variety, explinations, reasons for, fault analysis.....all makes for an interisting video. Well done and thank you again!
What’s up way up there Jan’ your working hard lately along with putting out all these great videos thanks a lot i appreciate it.
Texas🇺🇸🙏🇨🇦
That smile at the end. Thanks.
The shots and views were excellent on this video! Thanks for the work you do!
Cheers.
Great video… watching from North Carolina.
Fun to see all the others who help work as a team
Thanks my friend for the new episode. Interesting the milkshake/cattle food mix.👍
The weigh bridge is proving to be a usefull management tool
Your smile at the end😊❤
💜💜💜💜 Wow, what a smorgasbord of ingredients in the cow feed. Any idea how the milk quality compares to those that just feed fresh grass or grazing?
I love manure Monday with Saskdutch 😂
I thought it was only me.
@@dm55 me too
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊
What a super video!!!! I guess you could call it the good bad and the ugly LOL
I watch many farm videos and they have the mixer like you and I never see them
put anything near all the additives that you do. It must produce great milk.
Things that happen on your job, that is how you learn, and trust me you never run
out of things to learn. I found that out with my 31years working on the CN Railway.
There is so much good stuff in that load of feed I think that i would eat it...!!! lol
Jan can always make manure chores interesting. Great video, thanks.
Really enjoyed the feeding part of the video. Whole video was great
mixing feed is a art!!
Loved seeing the quantity of ingredients. - read it out to hubby - he simply said, so much hard work goes into this... farmers work long hard hours.... as he sits watching TV - he ain't no farmer!
Cool almost 1000 bales to put in the bank. Somewhere around 30+ loads and almost 200km a round trip closer than last year. That has to feel good. Your TMR has more ingredients than a good French Pastry.🍰
Great video!! Informative and cinematic.👍🏾👍🏾
I bale with a krone vario pack and it has a rubber role in front which feeds the netwrap in. Sometimes it wraps around that which is a huge pain to unwrap. But at least you can not miss it because the computer catches it and sends out and error.
Outstanding video Jan! Thanks.
What you don’t enjoy a good old time pulling fuel filters filling them and re priming the system in the field lol
Hopefully, you WON'T "get a solid chunk outta this lagoon." Ha Ha Caught Ya Kid! (get it? "solids/liquids") Daily watcher here...keep 'em coming! Much appreciation (and respect for doin' all that farmin' with only one arm/hand...)
What is up Jan from the imperial county California 👍👍🇺🇲🚜
thats great, really apreaciate showing us your current feed mix. would really like a more in depth look into how/who figures out the amount of each ingredient. Really neat thanks
They have a nutritionist who determines the recipe for each group of cattle on the farm.
@timothymbonham4453 yes but a video explaining how they do that would be nice. When and what need samples sent in to where and how often. Does silage get tested after ferment?
Farming, especially at this scale hasn't been "by guess an' by GOD" for generations now. It's science and farming is a scientific endeavour . These are fine exemplars of the craft!
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦
❤
Jan, you're getting rusty... running a tractor out of gas and now nothing to cut the entanglement.... JK, right... wonderful video as always!
Your drone shots are very cool...freaking the cows out a bit.😅😅😅
You’re quite the Chef Jan.
Great video
Excited to see truckers hauling bales and dron shots from Jan
That feed mix shot from the top👍
Absolutely fantastic drone operation there! I think the cows are a little confused on what that is in their barn!
Call me an oldtimer, we always carried a jackknife in our jeans pocket. It came in handy for all sorts of projects. Maybe good to cut off net wrap from the roller?
Gotta always have a 🔪 pocket knife etc
You've put lots of time into this years videos.
I just looked at the Saskatoon web cam, and the smoke is still thick!
Now that is what i call starting shit😂😂😂😂😂😂
What amazing shots so cool how y’all feed and scoop and pour out of the grain bins
We also have a new holland baler and had the same problem. So we ground off the the metal rods with a grinder. Never had problems after that.
That looks cool
At the end of your vids, it would be nice if you remind the viewers to hit the thumbs up, I sometimes forget. Thanks for the vids.
Spreading the "poop soup". LOL!
Great video loved the camera angles.
great vid….love seeing the food mixer in action, and I love seeing what goes into the food formula…you are Le chef des vaches! I also really love the peek sound of the manure coming out of the chute……another super vid, thx, Rob
Awesome breakdown of their diet!
good job!...every piece of machinery should have a basic tool box and it stays with unit!
A farmer's work is never done. 😊Sometimes I wish I was back in Saskatchewan just to help out with the chores. Anyway.... Happy farming.
what a montage of mixing feed i feel like i just watch a movie :)
Jan I can't believe you don't carry a knife that's a lot of baling.
We have a Deere baler and it does that occasionally too. Just the nature of the beast I guess.
awesome video Jan. That is a lot of balis. Thank you
Nice truck and trailer!
You need to have Dennis on more often - a very likable guy. Maybe “Wednesday with Dennis” or some such.
Great video. What do you do in the winter with the liquids for the feed? Thank you for helping to feed the world.
Both our JD 560m balers will occasionally rip the net on a bale, maybe once per field. Greetings from Alberta
2 question. 1- does this smoke affect milk output? 2- how wide does your 💩spreader spray. Guessing 30 ft.
I had that same baler. Run your hand along the roller. You may find rough spots or burs. Buff them off with a grinder. They are catching your net.
Good video.
Do you ever go into the lagoon with a bulldozer to scraper the bottom to get rid of any leftover sand?
They have a custom manure company with a floating “scraper/suction” and I believe they get it clean. Look back about a year you might find it in the videos
Farm Fixing and Fabricating drain and scrape out sand in lagoons once per year. Interesting to watch
So no more hemp straw needed with such a lot of bales? 😁
Ferdinand was missing
“Walkin’ on the Moon” 🌕(Ruelle)…using more “Fuel”…mystical auditory montage 🌌…Dennis the Menace not phased by much👍…ham!🍖...hazy blues…the baler is not what the net wrap should be tangled up in…cheeky smile; miss purse
😎; "Whooooaa, we're half way there..."
Great video Jan. Be nice to have the straw in the yard, eh? Is it time for a larger feed wagon?
Jan said in his recent farm tour that they would like to get a bigger one in the future. However, they'll also have to expand the feed mill barn to park it in.
@@MellowYe77ow thank you.
@@WBOS72 You're welcome.
A farmer without a pocket knife, unbelievable. 🤣😂😅
Murphy’s Law is always popping up.🫤
That mixer fill location with the bins is brilliant. How long do you let the mixer run after the water is put in.
They run it for 15 minutes.
@@MellowYe77ow thanks.
@@jimpolk You're welcome.
Great video thanks
Have you ever rotated the tires on your manure wagon and if so, why do you not to make the tires last longer? Love your video
I'm a new subscriber. Who is Brent? Love your videos.
Brent is the full-time mechanic on the farm.
nice video!!
It looks like it was a good thing he got a second baller.
Just think how it be with just one with all the straw to bale.
Nice video the variety of this is nice to see.
Happy for your finding that mishap before it turned out to be a nightmare. Great video as normal.
I have a massey 2946 baler. I never have a problem with wrapping bales. I have had that problem on older massey and new holland balers.
Sweeeeet efforts with the camera and drone angles - nice to see you are fighting for attention😊😊😊😊
Seems to be a hard pull to get you above 200k subscribers - time for a collaboration - who do we know - lol
Would a bigger mixer make it more efficient - lots of wear and tear on loader/mixer - you sure are mixing a lot of loads every day - time for a demo mixer 👍👍
Our 7090 does that aswell
We have problem with ours but with string one knife dont cut and we are fed up with it and we will sell it
The daily upload streak is over.
2:50 Is it still that smokey in Saskatchewan, or was it just morning mist?? Interesting to see all the ingredients that go into the cows feed.
Very Smokey here I Saskatchewan the last few days
Forest 🔥 Fires all over Canada 🇨🇦
The feed formula seem quite complicated. How do you work out the formula? I presume you are trying to maximise the milk production, the milk quality, the health of the cows while reducing the cost. A difficult juggling act. Is there an app which works it all out for you?
They have a nutritionist that does that work for them. They have a cheat sheet in the tractor that tells them how much of each ingredient that they need for the number of cattle that they're currently feeding.
Given the problem you have mixing the sand and manure in the lagoon, have you ever considered adding a second pump location diagonally from the current one? Just thinking it might be helpful to be able to agitate when doing partial emptying.
At times in the past they have had a raft that floated around and agitated the good stuff.
I don't remember youever breaking down the feed that way. Thanks. It was interesting
A new streak begings? 😂🇨🇦
Get a multitool for your belt. I use a Leatherman Wave. Using multitools for 30 years. Essential
Do you bale your canola straw too
Yes, they do.
Yea Dennis is fun
It’s a real Drag running out of fuel with a diesel OMG
Getting creative capturing spreading that manure❤💩
Nice
On time with all that manure and organic material you'll create some fertile soil.
How many bails do you need a year
He said in a previous video that they're hoping to have 2,000 bales this year.
@@MellowYe77ow Thanks
Jan how many bales do u need for a year
He said that they're hoping to have at least 2,000 bales this year.
I was wondering what's the bare minimum needed
If any one can xbox map the family farm love to play it think it be a cool idea yan family hope your well from uk 🇬🇧
