Weidemann is probably the popularest manufacturer for small loaders and medium large loaders here in Germany. Small telehandlers, like this one, are also pretty popular around here. In my opinion Weidemann are the best loaders - a lot of farmers and also construction companies use them. High quality machines with a lot of comfort functions, very compact design and easy to use. Skid Steer Loaders are rather uncommon in Germany.
Banger demonstration Jan! Tough enough when you have your own butterflies jumping up and down in your gut...but to also have numerous eyes on your every move is a heavy load to carry. Good thing you were in that Weidemann to ease the load! Great job is bring your Fans along AND explaining the pro's and con's too cause I need all the help I can get! 🤣 Stay strong as we all know the Warm is right around the corner....just up to Mother Nature how long it takes her to get around that said corner! 😂 Cheers and MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio 👋
We have have a 9k head feedlot in California and have a jcb teleskid with the tracks. Super handy to load and unload trucks, hay grapple, etc. That would definitely do the job with the telescoping boom and side cab.
Great video Jan. I was thinking you could make a little v plow for the front of that telehandler that perfectly fit the corral troughs and it would throw the stuff right out and only have to shovel only at the end. You could easily put a mirror on it that right side to see the front right cutting edge on the bucket. Once you're used to it I think you could scrape and sand the beds just as fast as a skid steer. With crab steer you could also angle the scraping tire to discharge out of one side only cutting down the number of passes. I think it would work awesome cleaning out the calf barns as well. For snow you could throw chains on it, stack snow higher. AND like your sisters new skid steer the load will never block exit and entrance of the machine. Weld up a little man lift platform to work high and over stuff. Think on it hard my friend.
Thank you friend Jan for sharing the experience with the new machine to be considered to speed up work on the farm. A good alternative that should be evaluated objectively.👍👍
Are you one of the owners? An excellent piece of equipment. I would like to see more about serviceability and is the dealer network able to quickly supply parts.
Thank you, Jan, for sharing your demo experience with Weidemann. It was a great pleasure meeting you personally at your well-organized farm, despite the bitterly cold day! Please extend my greetings to your dad as well. 😊
The Weidemann are a great machine. Where i Live in Switzerland we have many of those maschines. Where i work we sell those tipes of maschines. We sell about 15machines of these 4512 and the run great👍
I believe it’s JCB that makes a single arm, side entry skid steer like your sister’s. It also has extendable boom option just like that tele handler. Haven’t operated one yet, but it looks very impressive.
JCB have some tiny telehandlers like this with a bigger cab. We had a 516.40 come in autom last year and one of our big customers who had issue getting into that Weidemann had no issues on the JCB. And there is a slightly smaller version with the 514.40 on the same frame that you can throw on a trailer and stay below 3.5t.
We have the same machine at our (small) dairy farm in the Netherlands. We use it for loading the mixer feeder, scooping sand of the feed piles, (un)loading bales, transporting calves, sweeping the yard, cleaning stables, etc. Very handy machine! Its the second one we have. The previous one we traded in after 10 years of daily use last year.
Jan if you like the telescopic side of those machines jcb and Volvo do telescopic skid steers I’ve driven the jcb version enjoyed the reach with pallet forks and the manoeuvrability was perfect for where I worked
When I worked at a sugar beet factory we had to rent 8 of them for harvest time putting in ventilation tubes for the piles. We would get in them as a group and race around the grounds and had a blast lol.
Would you consider replacing one of your skid steer with telehandler then you could scrape with skid steer and bed down with telehandler and have best of both
If it had a grapple on front would it be able to shake out straw bails in the birthing area or not as good as the big tractor you use? If you guys got 1 it looks like it would not be too hard to make a scrapper to use in the bunks and not need shovel at all. nice equipment thanks for sharing
Nice looking machine. I'm thinking more horsepower. Is it allwheel drive? Ultimately your dad has to like it.if it works for you than thats a machine for you. Crab steering is cool when you learn how to use it.
Jan, have you considered something like what 10th Gen uses for how they do bedding? A big sort of bucket with an augur to blow out the sand farther into the bedding area
It would probably be smoother to drag the forks through the bunks with the telehandler in reverse instead of pushing them. Not sure if it's possible, but wanted to offer the suggestion. Thanks for the video!
It worked amazingly to clean out the feed bunks! Would almost be worth it just for that! But I can definitely understand the visibility of the bucket is key! But dang if it ain't cute! ❤
Interesting demo. Perhaps one of the disadvantages is that Weidemann is only starting in north America. Does that mean that parts etc might be an issue? How does it compare pricewise with the Bobcat. Living only few miles from the UK main Amazon warehouse, I just have started to love whatever I order arriving on my doorstep the next day.
Jon. Ers Thank you for the video of that new equipment it could be a 50/50 setting level. Maybe some big bumper front and back to help those wall destroy folks. I'm just kidding. Please take care Jon What happened to Meline with her farm and goat barn projects. Again please take care. 👍😊
Love your videos just curious why you don't use a side shooter bucket we use these at work and I can throw the sand past the middle no problem these are a must for us saves so much time as well
Little loader looks good, like the easy access and the steering should be easier on tires than a skid steer, are they more comfortable to sit in than a skid steer? Like not as jerky steering and driving around?
One plus might be using bucket to stack sand or stuff ,can get it higher and farther bck than skidsteer but can do same with frontend loader. Guess price would be biggest factor a d availabilty of parts and service but neat lityle machine
have you ever considered a trailed bedder for throwing sand? most farms near me have them, they seem to be quite effective, you just need a tractor to fit in and out of your barn with it, it would reduce skidsteer travel time as well.....
It certainly does more than a skid steer will do. I"m not sure if I"d trade one of the skid steers in on it, I think sometimes ya lose money that way. A very handy machine.
Some needs to design a bunk buster brush to hook up to your machine to clean the bunk's out think about it 💯 in the bunker a big brush throwing the snow and old feed out of there 💯✌🏻
Wouldn’t it be an idea to trade in the old skid steer for that telehandler and use that around the barn and for bedding while you use the “newer” skid steer for scraping?
Snazzy little telehandler, definitely some good German engineering. I wanna know if it’s at least as powerful as your current one, but agile is definitely a good word for it. New one probably better on fuel and oil I would think?
I know you scrape the alleyways but do you also take the fire hose to wash them down once in awhile. That is a pretty slick little machine as well diagonal steering to clean the feed bunks. Can do that with a Bobcat.
Not sure if the boom extends enough but it would be great if you could use that when you need to be lifted up to the ceiling when you need to fix the vents
Ian get a JCB like they have on how farms work if your wanting telescopic boom it would be hard to replace a skidsteer i know you wasnt use to it but i think it would take more time with that thing everyone is diffrent looked like it didnt have enough weight in the back i think you might get another wall with that lol you need one f those trofht cleaners like Cole has on Sonne Farms
Jan, I wonder if this Weidemann would work if you wanted to switch from small squares to large squares. You could save alot time in storing if you stack large bales with this unit.
There probably isn’t much that would compare to the maneuverability of a skid steer. They are the Swiss Army Knives of implements. Having said that the Weidemann might fill so many other gaps where the skid steers do the job but not as well. When I saw Fedder filming in Austin’s video I knew you were still in it to win it.😊
Observation: It appears the main advantage of the new equipment is getting sand to the middle of the beds. They have equipment that will feed the sand, much like your feed wagon, and do it much faster than the bobcat and scoop. And the sand feeder is probably more economical than a new telehandler.
Personally would recommend a small wheel loader. Much better visibility, lift capacity, and they maneuver better in barns. We personally have 2 GiANT loaders on the farm and they are made in The Netherlands!
In Canada, they have wind that blows the snow around (like 'blizzards'). So the feeders would still get show in them, and have to be cleaned out occasionally. Also, the roof structure would act as a snowfence and cause a big snowdrift right in the corrals where the cattle are.
were the fenders on the Tele handler made rom plastic? How many cycles from hot summers to cold winters will they last for before replacing? Why fix what ain’t broke

Hi Austin, nice to see you at Kielstra Farm, that's where the fun is assured. You two rascals.

With Dad’s approval we might see it on future videos if it’s in the budget this year.
Great channel and glad to see you back. I'm sure you've seen them, but if you haven't JCB makes a skid steer with a telescopic boom.
The agility as well as the much better visibility aspect vs the skid steer makes it appear to be a great machine for that application.
Great report on the Telehandler from a old dairyman in Fresno County, California.
We have have a 9k head feedlot in California and have a jcb teleskid with the tracks. Super handy to load and unload trucks, hay grapple, etc. That would definitely do the job with the telescoping boom and side cab.
I think Welker Farms trialed this type of machine as well.
Great video Jan. I was thinking you could make a little v plow for the front of that telehandler that perfectly fit the corral troughs and it would throw the stuff right out and only have to shovel only at the end. Nice job, bud. Thanks for doing that, demo, for us. I appreciate it.
That is a pretty awesome machine Jan. Thanks for a great video and demo.
Cool little machine.
Love your calm attitude and how you explain things. Makes the video even more enjoyable!
Nice little unit, now only if dad likes it 😊. Probably can get longer hoses for the bed buster. Nice video Jan.
Very nice video Jan! Thank you for your time and for giving your honest opinion on the Weidemann T4512.
Are you one of the owners? An excellent piece of equipment. I would like to see more about serviceability and is the dealer network able to quickly supply parts.

That’s awesome! They are just starting to come around where I live and I agree! Great machines!

Glad to see you back been missing the videos.

I saw the video on Austin’s channel and this machine looks like a killer. It will reach into the spreader nicely. Cool looking machine.
Definitely a Game Changer!
Cows are always watching what’s going on. Love watching them.❤️
It’s cleaner than the skid steer 😊
We have the same machine at our (small) dairy farm in the Netherlands. So lovely to see you back, you handsome Famer
Anxious to hear what you decide!
The Weidmann seems nice! 👍 I love its red coloring.
Check out the JCB skid steer with the telescopic arm. It also has a side door entrance.
Jan if you like the telescopic side of those machines jcb and Volvo do telescopic skid steers I’ve driven the jcb version enjoyed the reach with pallet forks and the manoeuvrability was perfect for where I worked
JCB makes a skid steer with a telescopic boom.
that thing is awesome theres not many telehandlers that size ive seen it would be perfect on a nursery or greenhouse operation
You have to love that you can get out the side instead of the front
When I worked at a sugar beet factory we had to rent 8 of them for harvest time putting in ventilation tubes for the piles. We would get in them as a group and race around the grounds and had a blast lol.
Everybody needs a Weidemann as we say here in Germany!
That was very impressive. Thank you for sharing this.
Love the tiny telehandler
When you are filling free stalls reach across with boom and do both sides, I have seen it done here in pa half the trips
Great Job!
That's a pretty cool little unit.
Oh my god such a sweet machine. I hope you buy it. I love it.❤❤
Awesome stuff!
Also a great machine for bale handling
Weidemann is going crazy with that demo. Pretty much every single dairy around here got to demo on.
Is there a dedicated tool to use to clear out the bunks and avoid the tedious shoveling?
Would you consider replacing one of your skid steer with telehandler then you could scrape with skid steer and bed down with telehandler and have best of both
If it had a grapple on front would it be able to shake out straw bails in the birthing area or not as good as the big tractor you use? If you guys got 1 it looks like it would not be too hard to make a scrapper to use in the bunks and not need shovel at all. nice equipment thanks for sharing

That's a sawdust unit, wonder if it will work for sand🤷
@@alfredomarotta6604there is the same style designed for sand as well. Built a bit heavier. Need a big skidsteer to support the weight
this is the first weideman ive seen on this side of the atlantic when did they start selling in north america?
It would probably be smoother to drag the forks through the bunks with the telehandler in reverse instead of pushing them. Not sure if it's possible, but wanted to offer the suggestion.
Thanks for the video!

Again please take care. 👍😊

Best use of crab steer I’ve seen.
Keep them coming brother from the imperial county California 🇺🇲👍
Little loader looks good, like the easy access and the steering should be easier on tires than a skid steer, are they more comfortable to sit in than a skid steer? Like not as jerky steering and driving around?
Yea way more comfortable!
Thats cool its articulate
Try the JCB tela skid ?
This is what I was waiting for. Seeing what Dad thinks
NICE MACHINE!
One plus might be using bucket to stack sand or stuff ,can get it higher and farther bck than skidsteer but can do same with frontend loader. Guess price would be biggest factor a d availabilty of parts and service but neat lityle machine

Awesome Great Video ❤❤💯💯. Thank SaskDutch Kid
Great video. How do you think routine maintenance would compare between the telehandler and the skidsteer?
I’d think there would be less on this unit. Tries will last way longer and the quick attach system looks stronger
Wouldn’t it be an idea to trade in the old skid steer for that telehandler and use that around the barn and for bedding while you use the “newer” skid steer for scraping?
That looked like fun
Snazzy little telehandler, definitely some good German engineering. I wanna know if it’s at least as powerful as your current one, but agile is definitely a good word for it. New one probably better on fuel and oil I would think?
I recently bought a New Holland W50C compact wheel loader, try one of those they are awesome.
A mini Lull. Cool.
Smiles on everybody’s face, the salesman got Dad in the seat and we all know what that means, it 90% sold.
Lovely modern machine. Nice
I know you scrape the alleyways but do you also take the fire hose to wash them down once in awhile. That is a pretty slick little machine as well diagonal steering to clean the feed bunks. Can do that with a Bobcat.

Most definitely that’s the machine you need
Go test a small Merlo telehandler it will change your world, it's amazing for this kind of work

Would it be better to have options where you have one of each?
Have you guys given any thought into a sand shooter bucket? It’s so much easier and faster than turning all the time and saves money on tires too!
Observation: It appears the main advantage of the new equipment is getting sand to the middle of the beds. They have equipment that will feed the sand, much like your feed wagon, and do it much faster than the bobcat and scoop. And the sand feeder is probably more economical than a new telehandler.

JCB makes a tele skid loader
Just imagine the different jobs you'll find it work good for cut labor hrs which can help off set cost.
Personally would recommend a small wheel loader. Much better visibility, lift capacity, and they maneuver better in barns. We personally have 2 GiANT loaders on the farm and they are made in The Netherlands!
Maybe a JCB Tella skid would work great.
A teleskid like the JCB is probably a better bet for your opereation!
15:56 You can extend the pipes, and build small roof so water and snow will not fall in to the feed. Why it's has to be in the open?
extra expense, extra maintenance, and clearance problems. Thats why most farms do it in the open.
@@dralord1307 But in long run, it takes a lot of work to clear it.

How r the new collars working
I’m going to make a full review video soon!
