Great job finished. Don't get spoiled driving that JD. We closed up a 28 year old hog lagoon and had it cleaned out with pay loader and and excavator. They loaded it on side dumps and hauled to a field two years ago. I am on about 200 loads so far of hauling with a 195 NH spreader. So I know what you mean with solids. We did use a pump like you had but it could not get the solids up. Again thanks for your video's.
Never get tired of the views out in the field. When I go back home to south Saskatchewan I always stop in numerous spots and soak up that awesome Saskatchewan view.
Looks like we might see an 8R on demo for manure and chopping next year. Especially with the way you were talking aboit how smooth it ran. You sounded more excited about that 8R than your Raptor!!! Great vid, keep it up!
Excellent video Jan! Very artistic and lovely drone footage of the field work. Dramatic change in the look of the field. Great work by all. You look good in the monster JD! Thanks for the video!
Really interesting watching from Ireland. Although we don’t have farms on that scale, it’s interesting to see the difference in how you handle the cattle slurry. Over here we’ve just entered what’s called the closed period for the winter. Between 15th October & 31st January no slurry can be spread & outside of that it can only be spread by injection or dribble bar methods. As a result most bigger farms use contractors now. They run umbilical systems & depending on distance between the yard & the land being spread they either pump direct or the tankers are just ferrying the manure, not spreading it.
The lagoon agitator is quite an impressive piece of machinery. I see others have asked about the lonely silo in the middle of the field. Can you tell us what it is for? Doing maintenance on the crawler must eb a fun job. Great video Jan. Thanks.
Sure am glad I'm not on lagoon crawler cleaning duty! As you say, it's constant poop removal. Know you said in the past that you got into the lagoon, with the loader?, to get a deeper cleaning. Will you have to do that again? Thanks for the informative video.
Jon. Thank you for taking all of us along spreading the cow poo. It is very interesting how machinery has become much bigger and better over time. Please take care of yourself.😊
Ferdinand croaks That is some high tech shit…nice rhythm in the dubs; like the electronica; great drone work…ooooo, yellow tractor 🐿…button to fill jump seat?…ribbons in the air...oooo; pretty yellow tree 🐿...booboo...love the total Aesthétikz; pretty sure Ferdinand has lost his voice 🐺 😎
wonder if your lagune would benefit from the aeration pump like tom pemberten has in his tank. where it blows bubbles evey couple hours and keeps things mixed up tho im not sure if it can handle the sand.
I would think a separator to remove some of the solids before it got to the pit would work better (which Tom also has), but I'm not sure it could handle the Sask winter or how fast the sand would wear out the parts of the separator.
Thanks Jan for the new video. What a long day to empty the wastewater tank. Seeing the immensity of land to fertilize, I think that many deposits like that are needed. 🙄
Wow never thought poo would hold my interest so much, and I have watched your other videos involving emptying the lagoon. Guess I can never get enough of it.😁
When I die I do not want to come back as a lagoon agitator. Great having five tankers going at once. The video was so good I could smell it. I have to stop drinking through your shows. We all want a raptor ride. Good video. Pax.
I was wondering if its possible to get a front end loader in the pit? Then you could clean it out entirely. Have a tractor at the ramp to assist pulling a rig out of the pit or even just dumping it over the side to be picked up by something else. Or maybe something along the lines of an excavator to reach over the sides and scoop it out? Seems like there could be someway to get all the solids out to utilize its full capacity at least once a yar?
Yes, Jan did it one year, but he didn't enjoy doing it. That's why they have the lagoon crawler come out. (Normally there's more liquid for it to work with)
Lmao not that easy or cheap to just throw in another lagoon. Tons of environmental permitting involved. And out moronic government hates farmers as is.
Question.. mist asked about using the loader for solids.. I remember you doing it in the past.. but could you not have added water to the pit to get it all out in one shot?
I can’t remember which You Tube channel I say where a front end loader was used to give lagoon a Deep Cleaning but when product had too much liquid the loader got EXTREMELY DIRTY as it exited lagoon to dump into solid spreader plus made a MAJOR MESS of roads getting to field as liquid leaked out the rear gate
That sure is some operation pumping all that Liquid gold out and on the fields. 100 % better than fertilizer chemicals. Love the sound of that MX when working hard.
I’m surprised at how many people don’t replace that houle splash pan with a husky pan, and do 6” piping all the way to the pan. We turned the 540 fan housing at 800 rpm on a 7000 gallon tank and could unload faster than the guy who was helping us with his 6300 gallon and the standard houle pan. Time is money, and anyway to gain time is more money in your pocket.

Hi Jan. Greetings from Montreal. That is some beautiful country out there !! You have a well oiled machine of your farm. I follow Tom Pemberton as well, he's got some funky tools on his farm that work very well for him. His new milking station is up and running now. Our temps are dropping slowly with single digit nights now.
Do the Guys not have to totally wash and sanitize the Nuhn Crawler after each job? Here in Manitoba you have to. My Friends have a custom manure injecting business and that’s what they have to do. Awesome video, thanks!
I would imagine the solids and sand combine into a cement-like substance and it’s really difficult and expensive to clear that out and keep clearing it out.
Do I sense a color brand switch? How many gallons does your lagoon hold. Someone is really brave to use an 8R to pull that big of a tank. Around Syracuse NY we use articulated tractors. Great video
They have in the past but I think that was sand that had accumulated over a number of seasons before they started using the buggy. It was pretty stiff stuff.
I don't know anything about this so probably shouldn't ask but what is the long term impact of putting sand on your soil. Maybe it's minimal I don't know. Just curious. Love your videos and watch all of them
It's also a question of quantity. It would take a hundred years of hauling manure to add a quarter inch of sand over an acre of land. In the meantime because you are harvesting crop off the same land you are also adding organic matter.
Would you ever consider trying a different pair of winter boots? Besides Dunlop thermo boots, I know that boots can be expensive but would you be willing to try?
Everytime I see milk now, I will think that somewhere there are gallon of liquid manure. Do they hose down the crawler before it leaves the farm? Do the wheels of the tractors spoil the crops in the fields?
Jan, please Never play that noise again...the one playing when you showed the Crawler. It was like nails on a chalkboard 😕😵💫. Thank you. Great 👍 video as always and dang that's a lot of 💩💩💩. Lol.
Jan's is quad axle as well. The smaller 3 axle one is 7,300 US gallons. (27,633 liters) The larger 4 axle ones are about 9,500 US gallons. (36,000 liters)

Great job on ur videos...I really enjoy seeing them...
Thanks for taking us along for another day in the life, love it

Literally my go to UA-camr for anything farming! As a dairy farmer love seeing how another operation works great video!! What's the pit capacity?
Great video Jan. Lagoon is looking good. Great job guys
Outstanding job on this video. I felt like I was in the tractor myself.
Sure am glad I'm not on lagoon crawler cleaning duty! As you say, it's constant poop removal. Know you said in the past that you got into the lagoon, with the loader?, to get a deeper cleaning. Will you have to do that again? Thanks for the informative video.
Love you and Neline sooo much. Great video very informative. Can I ask what your soundtrack names were. The music is so great.

I was thinking the same thing! Wonder if that works
Wonder how much it costs with huge pit.
I would think a separator to remove some of the solids before it got to the pit would work better (which Tom also has), but I'm not sure it could handle the Sask winter or how fast the sand would wear out the parts of the separator.
Are you going to scoop up and haul out what's left?
@@herbhouston5378 honestly.... I probably wouldn't mind doing that for a few weeks. A job change would be nice
Love the drone shots this video would have not been as good with out those shots but what a risky business for a drone. Great Job!
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊
Nuhn - Made in Ontario - Cool place to see from the road as I drive through Sebringville
Time to go Green, Jan! You know what they say: "If it's red, leave it in the shed!"
Jan wauw wat hebben jij en je familie een mooi bedrijf
Thanks Jan for the new video. What a long day to empty the wastewater tank. Seeing the immensity of land to fertilize, I think that many deposits like that are needed. 🙄
Wow never thought poo would hold my interest so much, and I have watched your other videos involving emptying the lagoon. Guess I can never get enough of it.😁
You looking good in that Green Tractor.
When I die I do not want to come back as a lagoon agitator. Great having five tankers going at once. The video was so good I could smell it. I have to stop drinking through your shows. We all want a raptor ride. Good video. Pax.
🇫🇷Hey …a real John Deere on your farm .. awesome 😎 … 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for sharing this with us 😊
I watch these videos for some hot Jan action and I end up learning way more about poop than I ever wanted to.
I love watching these videos,I’ve never done anything like this but its very interesting. I bet the smell is pretty bad 😉
awesome!
Look into Mono pumps for agitating the lagoon, I used one on lime slurry, 3” pump at 90 % solids.
Good video.

Yes, Jan did it one year, but he didn't enjoy doing it. That's why they have the lagoon crawler come out. (Normally there's more liquid for it to work with)
Have you ever taken out all the sand, etc., completely empty?
Yes they have
Build a backup lagoon, switch lagoons, dry out and scoop out the non current lagoon.
Building another lagoon would be large expense
Send them the money to build another one
I don't think they wanna spend a million bucks on another lagoon
Lmao not that easy or cheap to just throw in another lagoon. Tons of environmental permitting involved. And out moronic government hates farmers as is.
Jan, Do you ever get a vacation? I think you need one. I love your vids and stories and I get so exhausted watching you, love you
Yes, he went to Holland last year.
Question.. mist asked about using the loader for solids.. I remember you doing it in the past.. but could you not have added water to the pit to get it all out in one shot?
Nothing runs like a Deere!!
And dam nice Dron shots sir
Your background music with the drone was pretty cool
Jan, If not for copyright infringements The Stones' "Paint it Black" would have been perfect music for this video....I'm envious of your bio-wealth!
It would be, if he used more that 10 seconds of it.
Can't you use the loader and haul more of the solids out?
maybe too liquid for soliid manure spreader
I can’t remember which You Tube channel I say where a front end loader was used to give lagoon a Deep Cleaning but when product had too much liquid the loader got EXTREMELY DIRTY as it exited lagoon to dump into solid spreader plus made a MAJOR MESS of roads getting to field as liquid leaked out the rear gate
Manure pit with a shaker would be nice. liquefy all those solids like a gold pan.
That sure is some operation pumping all that Liquid gold out and on the fields.
100 % better than fertilizer chemicals. Love the sound of that MX when working hard.
Look out Jan sounds you’re smitten with that Green and Yellow.

Interesting background music during overflying the liquid manure lagoon...

@@svfproductions9520 his father name is Arjen
its amazing how interesting it is to watch shit being moved!!
Wow a lot of manure moved in 2 days i can see why it would be great to have a crawler to break up those solids
Thanks for the video. I had to laugh with “the Case takes the W”. Thanks again !
Never in my life have I watched a video that was based solely on poo!! Loved it. I honestly think I missed my calling as a farmer!! Keep it up.
At 12:40 there's a small silo/shed in the field. What is it for?
Lil' power wash on the MX285 hood wouldn't hurt.... haha.
From feed to fertilizer. It goes round and round.
Hi Jan. Greetings from Montreal. That is some beautiful country out there !! You have a well oiled machine of your farm. Pumping 'shit' ! What a job for a Monday ! Lol
7r for the future 🤷♂️🙏😊
Put Raptor in lagoon do burnouts to aggregate
Interesting idea
Yan back let's goooo
Great fertilizer
Must smell real nice right about now 😅,it’s liquid gold😊
Time to get some shlt moved!!!
Is there any way you can cap that lagoon and harness methane that you can use?😊😊😊
Do the Guys not have to totally wash and sanitize the Nuhn Crawler after each job? Here in Manitoba you have to. My Friends have a custom manure injecting business and that’s what they have to do. Awesome video, thanks!
If you think the John Deere is sweet you should hop in the new case magnums. The cvx drive is a must and it’s all around a beautiful tractor
That’s a really common thing to hear when someone has a case that when they take a deer for a ride it’s always so much nicer lol
I would imagine the solids and sand combine into a cement-like substance and it’s really difficult and expensive to clear that out and keep clearing it out.
it's 💩 days great video brother from the imperial county California 👍👍🇺🇲
Should scoop all the solids out and spread them. Will have a bit of nutrients in them.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 wow, I bet they never thought about that
😂😂😂😂😂got a little but puckering going on at that clime up the hill😳😳😣😣😣😣😣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
going to have to use that front end Loader
Do I sense a color brand switch? How many gallons does your lagoon hold. Someone is really brave to use an 8R to pull that big of a tank. Around Syracuse NY we use articulated tractors. Great video
It's about 2.29M gallons.
Just making a big poop smoothie!!!! Your next new tractor needs to be one like that then Jan
I just googled and found a Nuhn Lagoon Crawler, used, for @ $60k. Maybe this could be done???
Maybe a stupid question but asking. Can you just go in the pit when it empty like that and go in with the wheel loader to remove all the sand?
They have in the past but I think that was sand that had accumulated over a number of seasons before they started using the buggy. It was pretty stiff stuff.
He’s said they’ve done that in the past and it took a ridiculous amount of time that it just wasn’t worth it so they just pump this way instead
They could have push the last of the liquid to the pump then they could of hauled the solid out.
That has to be the world biggest R.C. car. I'm sure no one would ever want to drive thar thing in a pit for a day.
Some farms in the states do it.
I don't know anything about this so probably shouldn't ask but what is the long term impact of putting sand on your soil. Maybe it's minimal I don't know. Just curious. Love your videos and watch all of them
Their soil is a lot of sand already so it won't hurt it just help!
It's also a question of quantity. It would take a hundred years of hauling manure to add a quarter inch of sand over an acre of land. In the meantime because you are harvesting crop off the same land you are also adding organic matter.
Rent a long stick excavator. Widen the tank inlet to accommodate filling with bucket.
That crawler must be the new style bass boat.
GOOD MORNING
Would you ever consider trying a different pair of winter boots? Besides Dunlop thermo boots, I know that boots can be expensive but would you be willing to try?
Always fun with sand
No big deal! Put some floatation tires on the raptor and float it around with a pump in the back!!!!! Keep the windows up!!!!
Deere john s u better put that case on kijiji and get a deere john Jan
Is there a reason you don't just add water to the lagoon so you have enough liquid to agitate all the extra solids?
That would require hundreds of thousands of gallons of water.
🇨🇦
Hope you feel better yan
This a real big job I wish I was there. Granny92USA.
Everytime I see milk now, I will think that somewhere there are gallon of liquid manure. Do they hose down the crawler before it leaves the farm? Do the wheels of the tractors spoil the crops in the fields?
Yes they clean the crawler as he stated in the video and no they don't ruin crops because the field is already harvested
i just lift a little bit the front axle when i climb a hill to give more weight on the tractor.
Jan, please Never play that noise again...the one playing when you showed the Crawler. It was like nails on a chalkboard 😕😵💫. Thank you. Great 👍 video as always and dang that's a lot of 💩💩💩. Lol.
I agree -- almost muted that part of this video.
Music was awesome
That was an older crawler it did a dam good hob
🇫🇷Hi jan how many Olympic swimming pools would fit in your (blue) lagoon ? How often you have to empty it ? Great video
It's about 3.5 Olympic swimming pools. They fully empty it once per year, and partially empty it a few times a year.
Really testing Murphy’s Law flying your drone over the lagoon. Great footage though! Thanks.
That’s only 3 of your new trucks for that crawler!😂😂
I saw the there tanks where 4 axle and urs Is 3axle what's the difference waste they can haul
Jan's is quad axle as well. The smaller 3 axle one is 7,300 US gallons. (27,633 liters) The larger 4 axle ones are about 9,500 US gallons. (36,000 liters)
Hey, What's the deal with that one lonely grain bin out in the middle of the field?
Question if you dont have enough row crop land to put the dairy cows manure where would it go ?? Good video
As he said in the video they only have enough manure to spread on 5% of their land
It could be sold to another farm, or a biogas plant.

Go Avalanche! Put the Knights back in that pit!
