Hey thanks for watching the video!
Always like seeing Mirjam in your vids, Jan
The Great Escape.
I love farmers; you guys and gals keep our modern society from falling into chaos…truly.
Cheers.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, a little brother & sister fun, gr8
Jumping running cows. They're happy 😊
Saturday.....I wish you a happy evening with friends and nice people. Have fun.
😇
Another very interesting video Thank you
Never 2 old to play tricks on people
Thanks 4 another video..take care.
It's so great to see your little sister Marium? taking a real interest in the cattle side of the farm and you must feel fortunate to have 12 quarters of straw to bale, that will help a lot
Got to have fun sometime!
I really like the simplicity and factual content of this channel, I hope it continues in this format and doesn't get corrupted with sponsorships and advertising like others (who I have unsubscribed and walked away from. Lots of sites build up their subscribers and viewings based on basic vlogs. Then when the numbers get good they get tempted with offers and then the content that made them popular changes!
I hate moles too. Problem for me is the rats use their holes and run around under the ground and chew the roots of things. Here in the UK we have had a wet summer. Last year almost no rain for six month, this year hardly six days without rain. Nice to see you finally got home and it was still light.
Awesome video!
Thanks!!
👍💚 & thank you for what you and all the great people who work with and for you to help sustain this country
You can make a bridge from one good lug to another good love over top of the broken lug was a piece of flat bar two holes drilled in it and a nut the same size welded to the flat bar done this before if I knew how to put a picture on here I would sketch it out for you but y'all pretty smart so you could probably figure it out on your own LOL
You're doing a good job😂👍👍🍻
Love your videos. You all work so hard and are so smart. ❤️ 🐄 🚜
Well done . Informative 👍👍👍. Thank you for sharing. Be safe 🇨🇦
First. Love your content and the daily videos.
Thank you!
Another great video all the best with your crops.
Great job! Thanks for sharing....
Long hours, hard work, still an interesting job at home which we ENJOY seeing as well. Most interesting and well done.
Outstanding video Jan! Hope the steers improve quickly. Best wishes for baling!
Another great video keep up the awesome work you do with your family and crew
I have learned so much watching the SDK channel. No more commercial viewing for me. I don't even watch national news any more.
I salute you and thank❤you from my heart.
Judy.
Love when Jan plays little tricks. Glad you got some rain, but it never seems to come at the right time. Amazing how much damage a little mole can do.Great video as usual, thanks.
Those moles are THE worst. I too, like to trap them. Few things more rewarding than a tripped trap in the morning. Happy hunting.
Another awesome video
Thanks!
Love your videos
I've gotten 2 moles with my 3 tong pitch fork. Gota love the hunt. 👍
Thanks, Jan. I look forward to your videos, Aloha 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for watching!
I enjoy your videos very much. I grew up in Wisconsin and all of our neighbors were family-run dairy farmers. It’s great see your family operation. Thank you!!
He didn't say too much after the hose was pointed in his direction. 😂
Nice one Jan really enjoying you're daily videos always interesting I was waiting for Miriam to turn the hose on you now that would have been funny 😂😂 looks like you have a lot of bailing ahead of you hope every thing goes well for you and you don't get any breakdowns
looking forward to the next video
Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
Haha I tease her but she know how to get me back! 🤣 thanks for watching!
@@saskdutchkid you stay posting Jan and I'll stay watching your videos are always interesting and enjoyable to watch 👍
Best wishes from Ireland 🇨🇮
Mirium, Neline and Jan are so beautiful I think, thanks for sharing your wonderful life with me and all your great subscribers!!! Please stay safe and always be awesome 😎 much love from my Tennessee hill farm 🏞️
Awesome job
You could always try using lug nut indicators a lot of trucks buses and other equipment are starting to use them more and more in the lower 48
Lots of scrap metal $$$ on the side of the barn where that old hand push mower is.
Yep! We brought it all away not even 2 years ago and there’s already that much there!
please send some rain our way, we are on a provincial state of emergency from all the wild fires 🔥
Hello Jan, thanks for your great video. In Germany, too, we have a below-average grain harvest. Initially dry and emergency ripening, then three weeks of repeated rain so that everything was submerged and it turned dark gray. Hail that caused 100% loss of some corn fields. Greetings Dieter
Jan, it’s time to provide entertainment to your cows in the corrals to stop them digging massive holes. Maybe a movie or orchestral music.
👀😵💫🐄🐄🐄💩🐄💩🐄💩💩🐄🐄💩💩💩🐄🐄🐄🐄👍🔮🪄💪👏👏👏✅️
Mother Nature is in CONTROL of everyone & everything! too bad humans did not listen to her warnings & science facts of years past! our environmental concerns will only get worse every year... BC & the Yukon in serious forest fire evacuations... in this one video you talk of the rain stopping the bailing, drought stopping you swathing, the cow pens too dry with dangerous holes... then the grasshoppers eating your crops. challenging for sure! how everyone functions is factured now in relation to our weather. Hats off to the farmers who will suffer the most first! Thank you for your POSITIVE content💯
Been waiting for this!
Thanks for watching!
Hopefuuly the wind last night left your Canola swaths in place. On one of my trips to Arizona I miss judged my fuel and ran on vapours into Medicine Hat. My truck was saying fuel exhaustion eminent the last 10 k or so. It was the longest drive of my life. Always better to drive on the top 1/2.
It's always fun to see Miriam in your videos. Her smile always lights up the video. It is obvious just how important her hard work is to your family's dairy farm. Thank you for another excellent video. Always enjoy your and Neline's videos and keeping up with your successful operation.
You've been going full speed ahead on the videos and the drone footage has really gone up in quality and editing. Well done Jan, I hope the more frequency of content has changed the algorithium for you and you gain more subscribers and are able to make more revenue. By the way, if you want to get rid of the moles or voles you have you need to first get rid of the grub worms living under your lawn/grass. In the US we can us a product call grubex which controls the grubs for up to 2 years. You put it on with a spreader like you would a weed and feed product.
If those tractors get empty before they get to the e on the gauge I would suggest getting sending unit replaced in the gas tanks that probably why they are running out of fuel is because the gas gauge isn’t working properly
This is a real tribute to the parents that have raised some great kids that understand what hard work actually is. Canada and the US need more people like this! These kids are what make great countries!!
really love this my man, so many videos and all are good keep the good work up
Good video.
Great shows you give us much appreciated keep up the good work, I’m in Wales 🏴 UK when you mentioned 12 quarters, is that totaling 3000 acres ?
As I understand it, it's 160 acres per quarter ?
One section is four quarters (160 per 1/4) so one section is 640 acres so for 12 1/4’s it’s 7680 acres. Hope my math is correct😂
7680 would be 640 x 12. 160 x 12 is 1920. If the 160 per 1/4 is right then the 12 quarters is 1920 acres. I think we’re all on the same page now.@@WhirlyPearly
@@johnhughes2113 quite the mathematical genius aren’t I 😆
Hi, it’s ok honestly 🙏being from the UK i was just trying to understand te Canadian land measurement@@WhirlyPearly
It looks like you are in serious need of a new windshield on ur truck jan
Good video. The thing with moles is there will be another mound tomorrow. Done my fair share of trapping them as well.
What bull do you use to breed your red Holstein cows?
Ranger Red is one of them.
🤟🏻🇨🇦👍🏻
Hi everyone, I'm late commenting because I got home just a little bit ago from milking!! Happy Saturday to you all! Love your videos, Jan!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
You could stick the garden hose down one hole, turn the water on and when/ if they come out (half drowned) hit them in the head with a shovel. Or, dump rat poison down the hole.
If you gave the cows that are digging a big ball to play with would they play with it and would it help to stop them from digging. It’s worth a try don’t think it could hurt anything better then big holes.
Did we ever find out what the flashing amber light in the milking parlor signifies?
@saskdutchkid
You will need to bale at a pretty good clip to keep up. Hope you get a bunch of bales.
You are the hardest working young man I know. Keep up the hard work but don’t forget to take time for yourself, and a partner.
Use the mole trap that is covered except for a hole that lets light into a tunnel. The mole attempts to plug the hole and a cable pulls up on the mole. The mole suffocates. It is effective. The trap costs about $20.
Hi
Think direct heading the canola would have been a better option
Looks to ripe to windrow
Are they eating the dirt I thought I heard one time that they do that to get some kind of mineral. I might have dreamed that. Thank you Tom from Nebraska USA
Nah I think your right! Thanks for watchingb
Hello bro
Hello bruh
Hi - I have watched you for ages, but can you remind us again why you 'dry' the cows out - what part of the cycle are they about to go into. It was great seeing all the different corrals in a previous video with the names of each group, once again, can you explain what part of the cycle they are in.... apart from the little buggers... they'll be off for a ride in a big truck! Thanks
They dry the cows off 2 months before calving. To give them a break before their next 305 day lactation cycle.
Hey jan is drying off cows a one day thing or does it take a few days
It's a few day process. The cows are put on a lower energy diet to lower their milk production before they're dried off.
When will u get a haircut Jan u should also fix the windshield in your truck
really awesome video Jan. Thank you and your family so much. Good luck bud
Hello Jan.
One time you use the metric system the other time the other.
It is unclear.
Can you explain how many acres is a hectare and such
Greetings from the Netherlands
Western Canada (and much of the western US prairie states) was surveyed and laid out in square miles. Often there is a gravel road every mile or so. All the land titles and property deeds are recorded in square miles or parts of such.
a square mile (also called a section)= 640 acres.
A Quarter is 1/4th of that, 160 acres.
Hectare is a metric area measurement, 10,000 square meters.
1 hectare = about 2.5 acres (2.47..) So a section = 259 hectares.
But even though Canada is mostly metric, farmers & property owners still talk in terms of sections, quarters, and acres. It's just easier to say that a field is 80 acres rather than 32.374851 hectares (and that's rounded, exact is an even longer number).
Sweet video
Keep everything coming. Love the video
Thanks!!
8:47 still shocks me on how yellow those tires are.
Hi there kid
If you spread milky spoor on the ground, you will have no grubs and then no moles digging in your ground for grubs to eat. Lasts about six years per application and does no harm to anything else.
You don't have a battery operated grease gun? ... GOOD JOB!..... Do you have any hot rods?
Yes, they have a battery operated grease gun, but Jan prefers a manual one. No, he doesn't have any hotrods.
🇨🇦
GOOD MORNING
Sometimes here the big wind would lift up the rolled swaths and take the whole thing away...the unrolled swaths were just messed up a bit but still able to combine
An hour away ? I guess it's worth it...
They're getting tens (If not hundreds) of thousands of dollars worth of free straw. It's definitely worth it.
Can you get the steers a big ball to play with? to prevent boredom..?
Ferdinand does not dig holes; smells the flowers…is excited; took us home… can look forward to being pet?
Sprite…“Running on empty”…yes, right before…no need for new nuts when the ones you have work…“diggin’ in the dirt”…the pumping ensues
put some cow manure where its been digging,, 😂😂
I hate moles in the yard. Good luck!
I heard if you send your camera down a mole hole you may see molasses. 🤣
I laughed way to hard at that 😂😂 thanks for watching!
😂 👍🏻
Kind mention the intrammary tube
Name please of intrammary tube
4:17 why do you guys use net wrap and not string?
String is used for square bales. Net wrap is used for round.
👍👍👏👏
1:25 Is that a Ronnie Coleman reference 😆?
Hope u fix the mole problem
Hello
Grub X....moles love grubs. Throw down this granular product and it may help make those buggers move on
Who makes Mac don
MacDon was their own company in Canada, until they were bought by Linamar in 2017.
Rain? 🤔AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin, TX is currently experiencing the longest stretch of triple-digit heat in recorded history.
Do you ever have a vacation? Long working hours and every day Im sure it's exhausting physically and emotionally
He went to Holland about 6 months ago.
@@MellowYe77ow So glad cause Jan works so hard thank you for the info
@@christinebrophy Indeed he does. you're welcome!
Anti seize then studs
What are you injecting into their teets?
An antibiotic treatment, and a sealer to help prevent mastitis. Jan recently went into a little more detail in his vid: Road Trip To Get Bales!
You are a video, making machine.
if you want to catch those mol's you should wear gloves they can smell you're hands and they know that you have been there.
