- This video shows two different solutions for vertical saw-blade storage. Face it: peg boards are awful, and complicated storage shelves/cabinets are just too impractical. A blade caddy can easily be moved, and the visibility and easy access are the perfect stress reducer for these unprecedented times. Do yourself and your family a favor, and stop stacking those blades. Maybe you will even get the Mrs. to appreciate the size of your little stack for once; show her just how big that thing can get on full display. Don't bother thanking me-we're all on the same team.

i’ve been searching for a simple blade storage rack and this is by far the best. scrap stock and easy yo get to.
i use kitchen cabinets as tool stands, especially the cabinets that go over refrigerators because they are the right size to bolt tools to.
your blade storage is perfect for the one under my table saw.

I think you could angle the blade on the 2X4 method and then wall mount it.

Yeah. Once you switch, you won't go back often. I've used a 10" twice so far this year. Once was for the milling in the previous video.

Everyone has that "bad" blade when you just need to cut something and you know it is going to ruin a blade, so you just use one that is already mostly doneonion rings.
Also functions as a vinyl record holder! Simple but effective
Good idea. I'd probably add felt or something to the side walls, though. Some of those are pricey.

I have all my blades on 4" long peg hooks on my pegboard with cardboard spacers between the blades. I organize them by diameter and by tooth count. I can immediately see what blade I want.

Nice blade caddies. If real estate / footprint is a big factor, you could turn the 7-1/4 caddie into a double-decker with a flat tray on top. Store your blade changing wrenches and blade cleaning supplies in the tray.
could you not turn the blades horizontal with this method aand only have the footprint of one blade?

How do you find the reduced edge speed due to smaller blade radius affects cutting performance?
I haven't bothered to make the comparison. Not a technique for cabinet shops. Lower your feed rate if it's a problem.
Reduce the footprint of that bowling ball, I dare you.
Simple: place it on a PVC ring. Drill holes in the ring, and now it even holds toothbrushes!

I USE THE SAME SYSTEM, BUT DESIGHN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT
Cranking that saw blade up and down so many times would induce arthritic attacks in my elbow and wrists, and for the life of me, I can't see why you wouldn't leave the blade set at the desired height and simply push the sled through the saw? What am I missing here?
First part: if this hurts too much to crank, don't do it. Second: just a simple straight cut would result in the blade resting on/in a horizontal groove. The idea was to make a round nest for the blade, so that it doesn't roll out.
Having owned this for quite a bit now, I suggest you toughen up and do the cranking once and be done with it; It works pretty well. In all seriousness, if you are arthritic, just pace yourself. You also have the option to increase the diameter of your crank wheel, thus making the action much easier.
I'm so committed to reducing my footprint 👣, I only walk on my tippy toes in the woodshop.

Sweet and compact system. I just picked up two radial arm saws to add to the third one in my shop. The smaller is a DeWalt MBF from the 1950s that runs a 9" blade, but the advice has been to run 8" blades and 6" dado stack for more efficient cuts. My saw blade collection seems to grow exponentially.

Your system is very organized and functional. However I prefer my system where they hang on screw heads on the inside of xcabinet doors. No wasted space that could otherwise support my coffee mug.
