I live across the street from an apartment building. They recently remodeled the entire interior. They tore out and threw in dumpsters ALL of the cabinetry, shelving, fixtures, etc. They forbid anyone from taking any of this perfectly good, reusable materials. High end drawer slides, hinges, knobs, pulls, etc. Literally TONS of melamine, counter tops, and I don't know what else...
All hauled to a landfill. This stuff was perfectly useable. Not a scratch. Heartbreaking, infuriating, dumbfounding...
      I could go on.
Yes, I love seeing repurposed materials.

You could make tabs out of front lip of each tray and alternate them so you could see everything looking down. This would then be a way to add tags or stamp in any identification of each blade.

    Hi,
This is by far the best organiser for Sawblades that I have seen, and I saw a lot of then.
In the beginning of your video, I thought you were thinking of storing them vertical, witch is not the best way (falling out etc.).
You designed it very well and there is no way that anyone can correct you.
The only remark that I could make is perhaps a knob ore a handle on your drawer.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you will receive a lot of (positive) comments.
Keep it safe, it is not over yet.

He explained many years ago those are plywood tops from children’s writing desks from a school. He always starts off slicing off the rounded edges and then makes all his projects with them. He also has a large stock of the mystery tropical hardwood that he pulls out to use for various jigs. Very nice to save them from a landfill.

    Nice job, Tachi-san.
Personally I would have made a hole in the middle of the drawers instead, about ø50mm. That way you can grab the blade directly in one go, instead of lifting it from the front first.
Also, if I end up making one myself (which I probably will at some point), I would make drawers specifically for each individual size that I have (165mm, 216mm and 254mm). That way I will always be sure that the blade is centered on to the hole for lifting the blade out.
Note: I'm a trained technical designer, so I instinctly search for design flaws and try to improve the design. Occupational hazard, I guess. :)
Also, I've been wondering about those plywood boards that you use for most of your projects. What were they originally used for, and how many of them did you get. It's almost like you use the same one over and over again, or have an unlimited supply. ;)

@@TachiOhyo56 Even though I use CAD software on a daily basis, I almost never make blueprints myself, and even then, it is mostly hand drawn sketches. I mostly have a rough idea of how I want things, and then I just start from an end. Sometimes I have to redo things because of it. :)
Just like you, woodworking is just a hobby for me, and almost all my projects so far has been improvements to my workshop, like a table for my tablesaw with a router extension, an assembly table, a trolley for my dust extractor, a rack for my clams, and so on.
