My theory or take on Night Springs
So it's on the official Alan Wake website and the fan wiki that the Night Springs DLC is Alan in the Dark Place using his imagination to script episodes of the show he used to work on, Night Springs, to use and try to escape. This made me think of something in the base came in the initiation titled "Masks", where Alan is on the set of Door's talk show and Door confronts him. "Maybe you will make it through this time. This has gone on long enough. This and our Night Springs. It was a nice direction." it made me possibly guess that during this time in between the loops we saw in the game, that Alan MAYBE did the Night Springs plan but Door kept stopping him from trying to escape because he doesn't abide by the rules of Alan's writing NOR the Dark Place.
