I love that in Dark Ocean summoning the Old Gods played a song so hard they summoned their younger selves to rock
I think they whole younger selves is just the dark place projecting what they are thinking... which makes it incredibly cool that they are indeed rocking so hard they are FORCING the dark place to project them.
It reflects how powerful and violent rock and heavy metal can result to the souls themself calling them one more Time to sing with infernal lyrics AND SORCERY

I understand more this line after beating Control. This game has an amazing gunplay, probably one of the best i've experienced.

Actually no… remember saga saying “of course you already knew what I needed.” They had that connection.
This is EXACTLY how I imagined the summoning ritual: Saga in the overworld fighting to survive the ritual and get Alan back, and Alan closing the loop and starting the spiral yet again by fighting to get to himself. And when Scratch came face to face, I knew the ending would be epic. So glad to see such a great and EPIC edit. From a true rocker to another, you definitely hit it out of the park.
So I'm not alone. I thought for certain that this song would be us swapping between Alan and saga the whole time. Saga defending the old gods from scratch while simultaneously Allen is fighting through scratches hordes to get to the exit of the dark place, like the old gods are lighting the way for him giving an actual substantial path for him to follow
I'm right there with both of you. Definitely thought we would get two climactic action sequences mirroring each other with each of them. Doubtless that occurred to Remedy as well.
But I see why they didn't do that, though, given how Initiation had to end for Alan. Not in catharsis, but despair.
Nice to see Balder back with the band. Those tears in reality making them young was a great touch.

I like the direction they took with the story but if it would have been different and Alan was actually aware of Saga trying to bring him back at this moment, it would have been sooo cool if they switched players perspective during that moment. Great edit!
Honestly I would have loved dark ocean summoning having to be done twice, as saga is holding the shore, we have alan having to race his way up parliament tower the long way, the song getting louder with every floor, the dark presence following behind, just a proper stalker run.

God, that transition to Alan was CLEAN
That heal into the double dodge at 6:00 was clean af
3:00-3:10 is so well timed, it seems like the Taken that is grappling Saga is growling along with "Your soul returning to the light".
I had to go check that the sound effect on that line was part of the original song and not something cool I missed in the fight.
Also great choice to show The Dark Presence possessing Alan during the spoken word part and show the Scratch fight for the remainder of the song.

@@JGibbgg In Saga's perspective, yes. But in terms of gameplay progression you can actually do all of Saga's story up to Dark Ocean Summoning before you even start We Sing with Alan.
@@Xudmud From Saga's perspective & the game and stories continuity. yes you could force the gameplay progression but only if you neglect to play Alan's side lineraly and ignore the swap points the game delivers you to at the end/begining of chapters.
Before you leave the sheriff station with Saga to go to Cauldron lake the game promps you to manual save and finish up the game play on either side because from there on, their stories merge and every character swap is forced.
Not to mention that entire scene is meant to be a ritual to get Alan out of the Dark place, it would make no sense to have him playable in a fight hes not meant to be at.
we waited 13 years for a sequel story why would you ruin it.
@@JGibbggwell that doesn’t mean they couldn’t make his part of the fight take place while he’s still in the dark place for instance perhaps they could have you going from the one spot to the Parliament hotel while a lot of taken try to stop you (because obviously the dark presence doesn’t want Alan to leave)
Pretty cool concept if we could have switched between both saga and Alan. Playing as Saga to stop the taken then playing as Alan trying to get out.
That is exactly what we did. Just not all in one flowing scene like this because while it makes sense in this video, it wouldn't be possible to do in-game in such a flowing manner.

Really well done. I thought it would have been cool to have a bit of overlap in the game at this point as well. Like projecting parts of New York on the beach and Alan fighting Taken there. Perhaps even taking some out on Sagas' side this way. Character switching would have been a bit too much in this hectic fight, I think, but your edit works really well.
I would've liked to switch between them even if disoriented you that would even better cause Alan is escaping the dark place and going to be disoriented fighting his way hearing the Old Gods of Asgard jist jamming loud af
we are but a teir of reality contributing to the escape of Mr. wake with each witness he is one step forward to the finalization of his next short story night springs.
