Description- Today we're checking out the Jomox ModBase 09 MkII presets. It's pretty similar to the MBase11 with the added bonus of CV inputs in eurorack format. Overall impressions are that the sound is good and true to the Jomox sound. It will be a powerful kick drum module. I picked mine up from the folks at www.DetroitModular.com, my favorite place to get modular gear.

The modbase mk1 is widely regarded as the best kick in Eurorack but I feel like many of the kicks could be sampled and used as is. Sample 04 was the. Best sounding kick to me. Thanks for making this video.
Nice! I think I might still mix in the BIA in tandem to get extra punch, but we'll see

Preset 90, when the kick is so low that you can't even count to 8 anymore 😅

If I remember correctly yes you can have the LFO free or reset
the value knob responds backwards instead of foward, how do i set that back ?
oh my sounds like not fun. I would ping Jomox if it's not in the manual. They get back pretty quickly.
@@ObscureMachines yes it's just crazy , i don't know what happend , the day before ..i have used like any other day. i got this module for 3 months only. it seems like all the presets are deleted , and the value knob responds only backwards in preset menu . and in the setectable options is responds normally :(
For me all the presets sound like shit.
It's strange cause the thing about this module, in particular for techno or minimal, is that it doesn't quite sound great or right or whatever, but through a PA or even in my car with a small sub, it cuts and sounds huge. I've heard many folks don't like the sound at first, and honestly with the mbase11 I was initially underwhelmed, but for whatever reason in a mix the Jomox stuff just smashes. I haven't found anything better. I've used about 3 preset in the majority of my jams through a Fold6 and that helps too.
@@ObscureMachines agree. I bought it finally anyway and I was shocked by the quality. But I use only one preset #88. Sure thing. My comment was wrong.

@@ObscureMachines So glad I read this! Almost returned mine - in 1-on-1 comparison with Crater it sounded weak to my ears. But once I compared them in a mix, it was a completely different story. It fits perfectly with a few tweaks.
