Great video! Unless I missed it, two things that may be helpful: 1.) Don't forget to put oil on the rubber washers on the oil filter cap-- it will help it to screw in easier. 2.) if you're going to be changing your oil yourself, invest in the Ronin oil plug. It will simplify oil changes tremendously and allow you to easily control the flow to the drain pan. You can even attach a hose to it if you want. Best of all, it doesn't require any tools! Got one for my daughter's F-150 and it's worth the money, since I'n the one changing the oil!

I’ve been changing oil in cars since I was about 8 years old and I had to look your video up to figure out how to do this on this truck. Thank you, for posting it.
On another note, what a colossal pain in the ass they’ve made it to be. I used to pop my front wheels up on a curb in the dorm parking lot in college and do oil changes, and with this truck and the stupid fiber cardboard skid cover and the giant drain plug, I still had issues getting to it with my truck up on ramps. Couple that with needing the big ass socket to remove the oil filter cover and making it out of plastic, I don’t know if I’ll buy another Ford truck again when this one shits the bed. Holy Hell.
Again, thanks for the tutorial. I never would have found the drain plug without it!

I have not have to crawl underneath a truck or car for an oil change in seven years, I bought a vacuum pump that sucks oil out thru the dipstick tube, best investment I've made for my garage, I still have to go under on some cars to change the filter, still, I don't get dirty.

An added note for the filter cap. All manufacturers with this type of filter set up now use plastic unfortunately. Dodge has had major issues with the lug rounding off also.

Highly suggest you use a 6 point socket and not a 12 point. Using a 12 point has a tendancy to round thw cap lug off. I always get a spacific socket for each vehicle that stays in the vehicle for oil changes. Ive learnt this from experience at dealership.

I own one of these trucks, as well as a 6.7 L power stroke. The oil rush is indeed real, you are not lying. I don’t think it is THAT bad though. Also, why not show it?
Genuinely curious, not bing a dick or anything..

I had started the oil change prior to deciding I was going to do a video on it and then after I pulled the plug out and realized how much oil came out of that hole I said you know what somebody's going to get this right in the face lol so let me backtrack and do a video here so at that point I had already had the oil drained out. But yeah if I ever get to do another one I would love to do a video on it.
