I like two kinds of videos... the super quick get-to-the-point videos or videos that take me to school! 🏫🍎📚 This channel takes me to school 🤗🌿 Thank you so much.
I watched this entire video and I cannot believe the wealth of knowledge I acquired. It was like a plant college class. Especially the part about how to make it fuller. Excellent tips.
If you think this is a "college plant class" then you've never sat in a horticultural science lecture. He never touched on their physiology, genetics, cellular biology, anatomy, chemistry, etc. as you would in a professional's class. We would not go this shallow even for new freshmen in the plant sciences.
I am beyond grateful to have come across your page. I'm a recent adoptive plant mom of Pothos. I was recently replanted both TJ and Malibu. Tj looks to be doing well. Malibu is still adjusting. She wasn't too pleased. I was at home depot today and had a chat with the Plant lady. I showed her photos and she said just give her time, light and a chat. I told her how I was watching video of ppl experimenting on their plants and needed someone who really knew what they were talking about. That's when you popped up. THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH. Valuable information
If you place a pothos (or any plant) near a window that gets blasted with lots of direct sunlight… buy a sheer curtain to put in front of the window. I have some of my plants in my room and the only window is facing North West so in the evening the window is right in the way of the sun setting and I was noticing some browning on the side that was facing the window. I got a cheap curtain rod and pack of sheer curtains from target and it took me all of 10 minutes to put it up and my plants are SO much happier and no more burning and browning leaves!
Thank you for discussing everything so thoroughly. Have been growing pothos for quite some time and still learned something new. Will be watching the rest of your videos.
I watched 10 videos about Pothos to learn about it and I thought I won't find any more information in a youtube video about this plant. I was lucky that I watched your video as the last one and I realized that I was wrong. Your video is very very informative and detailed, better than all of the other ones. Thank you for your great explanations. 👍👍
Aquarists...like myself put pathos in our aquariums. We put the stems and roots in the tank and leaves outside the tank. We do this because the plant feeds on the excess nutrients in the water...ammonia, nitrites and nitrates. Aquarists love pathos. It really helps us with algae control and water chemistry. It's a tough plant. My cichlid frequently attacks the roots and my pathos continues to grow. I add only LED lighting for the pathos. Pathos is 'the bomb'. We love it.
I used to do that too, it's a great way to display them, but I'm always amazed that Pothos growers suggest never to keep the soil too wet, or it dies. I remember having a huge long Devil's Ivy that grew from my fish tank, so they can't hate water that much!
I kept aquariums for 25 years before my health now prevents me. I want to get a Pothos so I can keep with my aquarist friends while I go on my new adventure with house plants
Aah! Finally found a channel where all my plant related queries can get answered...slightly lengthy videos BUT very well explained everything. Thank you...Keep doing the good work..Good Luck ☘🍀
It seems like most, if not all plants fall into 1 of 2 categories- they like to dry out between waterings or they like consistent moisture (but not wet.) I would love to find that written down! Like a list of all the plants that you water when the top inch is dry and a list of all the plants that you should let dry out completely before watering!
I know you probably won't answer this directly because you answer your most asked questions in the Q&A videos (which, by the way, I have been binge watching!), but I'm very curious to know the answer (I apologize for the length of this, just want to be detailed in case my questions do get answered).. I've had a Marble Queen pothos for about 3yrs now (my very 1st plant & still my most favorite one). Her growth rate seemed to be a bit slow but she was still growing & was gorgeous. I attribute the slow growth to my watering- I am terrified of root rot & allow all my plants, except spathiphyllum, to completely dry out in between waterings. I also only recently learned that I should be pruning. After I cut off 2 vines, I noticed lots of new growth, which you said would happen. She's remained in the same pot since purchase & recently, water has been running straight through & out of drainage holes. I assumed it was root bound & also needed fresh "soil". She wasn't nearly as root bound as I had anticipated, but I STUPIDLY still potted up from a 6" to an 8" pot. The stems looked a bit leggy & the remaining vines were scarce & scraggly. So instead of just pruning more, I made a huge mistake- since there are so many aerial roots on pothos vines, like an idiot I assumed that I could bury- yes, bury- the vines & just have the leaves sticking up from soil (wish I'd seen your video 1st because I would've just pinned vines down like you suggested). I also made ANOTHER mistake by fertilizing immediately after repotting. Of course there were quite a few separate little plants in the pot when I took it out, so it's not one single plant. And now, maybe 2 weeks after the repotting & my epic failure, almost every single leaf in the pot is dead or dying. I'm heartbroken over losing her. I'm planning on immediately buying another one & do not want to make the same mistakes. So (finally), my questions are- 1) do you think it's because I buried the vines underneath the soil which led to her decline? And why exactly does doing that such a problem? 2) Since it wasn't severely root bound, do you think that I killed her by going up in pot size from a 6" to an 8"? Could she have suffered from root rot? 3) Do you think that fertilizing right after repotting either caused or at least attributed to her decline? And lastly, 4) Although the leaves are almost all dead, the actual vines themselves still seem to be green & firm & look ok. Do you think I can somehow propagate the cuttings of leafless stems? Again, I'm sorry for so many questions, just thought I'd give it a shot & at least ask. Thank you so much. -Jasmine
I have been on a journey to plantify my home for a few years now. Have been going trough the ups and downs, over watering, pests and plants wilting away during the first two years. This time around I know what type of plants that I can care for but still learning a lot almost every day. I have been scowering youtube for plant tips and advice regarding a lot of the aroids. I have found a lot of american plant-channels that are great but I have yet to found a channel as extensive and informative as this (no shade)! On top of that I actually live in Sweden! which has been a concern since Sweden has a very specific placement which lends us never ending sun during the summers with long winters of night. Finally Ive found a channel that can adress plant care for nordic countries! Awsome!!
Hello...great video and very informative. Many aquarists use pothis in aquariums to absorb nutrients. It is very effective. I would love to hear your thoughts on care when placed/grown in water versus soil. Im sure it will be a big hit video
So glad I stumbled into this video. I’ve watched other episodes, and I really like the thoroughness and the consideration given to the viewer. Thumbs up for also supplying the times and sections of each episode so I can skip parts if I’m not interested. Thank you so much.
Ponytail Palms!! You've taught me so much about my little pony! And now I don't know whether to be extremely depressed or hopeful. The greens have grown so tall that if I were to purchase a new one, well, Iit would be very cost prohibitive. I think they can be dead & still LOOK totally alive. Apparently, upon purchase 2 years ago, mine had a scorching case of scales. But unseen. I take pictures of my plants & enlarge them & this shows EVERYTHING! WELL, the crown was as usual, sealed with thick tar(?) & after several months, I'd not paid attention & my picture showed that a mass of scales had actually BROKEN THROUGH THE THICK TAR! OMG! I never saw scales so thought it was fungus. We used a SOUP SPOON to scoop 'em all out! For real, I know! There's an empty bowl there now. I basically killed Mr. Pony with an alcohol water spray mixture as I was totally freaked out. The green palms remained green too! I still hope they're gone. It's finally time to report a year later. PLEASE! Shouldn't I fill that crown bowl thing with candle wax or bonsai tar? I wish they made LUMINAL for scales! I'd rather toss it than go through all the beautiful new $oil mixture if I knew. This is so long. Sorry. But the shoots have grown a lot. There are only 4, but one was damaged & produces very little. You taught me that I can cut it off though! Great! Look, the palms are happy & stand about a foot+ high. I raise the pot for the fronds to not drag. But it's thinner than before & has recovered as much as it will.
Ive got 8 pots of Golden pothos i must say its the easiest one .. ive started with only 2 leaves before.. 8 pots Golden pothos 1 manjula 1 jade And 1 marble queen.... I love them all..❤
Yes, I thought I had a green thumb until I started buying other types of plants 😄🌿🌿🌿 Snake plants are another plant you might want to try. Mine like to dry completely out and then get completely saturated, stay in a pot that's too small, and be a little neglected... perfect for me! 👍👍👍 Pothos and snake plants are taking over my condo and the striking foliage just wows people when they walk in.
@@MyrtleBeachWebAngel see I’m the opposite I started with hard plants and did a lot of research and I have so many that are fussy and I’m on my toes all the time but today I bought my first pathos. I’m worried because for some reason the “difficult “ plants are just fine except for my alocasia it’s being a jerk, but all the ones people say are easy or hard to kill they just off them selves as soon as I set them down in my Apartment, except my Chinese evergreen that’s been with me a while is so easy. So tolerant. Good luck on ur plant journey!

Thank you so much for all the information on how to take care of my photos., I’ve been pruning my golden photos last spring and i had so many pots now. I’ve been watching your videos often and it really helped me to taking care the right ways. ❤
Great informative video as usual. Pothos are some of my very favorites, they grow hardy and fast, I feel they are much less fragile than say a philodendron even though they look similar. Great plant for beginners. I have several varieties including 2 neons, 1 cebu blue, 1 baltic blue, 1 marble queen and a scindapsus exotica. I would like to get a manjula next.

I grow photos in the water and growing healthy as long as change the water often. Thanks for this video, always very clear and detail and easy to understand, I love watching your video. 👍👍
Wow those pothos roots are amazing compared to the pothos I get at my local Home Depot. In America, it’s so common to get plants that have unrooted stalks. I end up finding them because they die when I haven’t kept the soil moist enough.
I feel you. I ordered a Scindapsus & I thought it was dying because two of the leaves just turned yellow & died & I pulled on them & they just didn’t root. 😐
this video is very high quality and has lots of added value inside. Valuable information, overview of plat, tips and trick on care and watering etc. Thanks!
You have the most informative presentation in all your videos. It’s like “textbook.” I learn a lot from your presentations. There are several trailing plants that would be good subjects for your next videos. Please do. Suggestion: The correct way to say - “We recommend you;” is We recommend TO you…. Also, the more effective way of encouraging people to watch your other videos related to your current presentation is - “FOR MORE INFORMATION REGARDING (Ex. another subject), I will include below the link to this video.” It’s not effective marketing to say - …if you like.”
I am surprised because my golden Pothos doesn't like to be dry. My Pothos likes water a lot. My Pothos's pot doesn't have drainage holes and when I water it I can see the water over the soil and my golden Pothos it's beautiful. Love your videos thanks!
Bro, yes Pothos can grow nicely also in water...mine only in water..Haha for the lazy people. However I also learn more from your good video. Tqvm. Cheers & Great Blessings.
Thank you sir for the most valuable tips on Pothos. I personally love Pothos. So I have Ten pots of Pothos.....including Neon, Marble queen, golden and jade pothos. Sir please on video on Peperomia, as I requested you before.

Thank you for the very informative video. I got a baby pothos 1 week ago, so it's still early days for me. I have taken notes!
Love the details you give!!!❤
This is so very interesting.Thank you for being so thorough.
Thank you for all the useful information, your videos are pure gold. Can't wait to see what you will post next! :D
