One time I was at my local Tesla service center and overheard an upset customer complaining about having to replace the half-shafts on his Model X. I guess some Tesla owners forget that those are heavy high-performance cars and if you drive like a mad-man, you'll inevitably wear out some components. Great content Bjorn, keep it coming.
Dayum those tyres are worn out. And that comparison from old and new filter. About time it got a new one. Good informative vid on wear 'n tear on a high mileage Tesla!

@Bjørn Nyland This is why I keep coming back to this channel. So much to learn! It really would be awesome to to the same inspection on an "old" Tesla Model 3 from 2019 or one with lot of kilometers on. That would be useful to A LOT of people on this channel! Would that be possible?
Great video Björn and credit to Nassir who seems to be a great mechanic! I also hope that the collaboration with the Swedish company works well and that parts can be refurbished! That’s good for the environment as well as economy.
OP gets some TLC. You are fortunate to have such a great and trusted local repair facility. Here in the US (home of Tesla) it's a wasteland when it comes to "third party" repairs. Tesla needs to start supporting third-party repairs. As more and more pre-owned Tesla's change hands (many out of warranty) owners can't rely on Tesla's Service Centers which are few and far between major cities in the US. I hope Elon is listening. I enjoy looking at HIGH mileage Tesla's repair video's as they tell us how they age and what it takes and costs to repair. So far I've been impressed.
@@Zombiexm could be, which is why my plan is to have our Tesla’s paid for by the 36 month of ownership and then start looking to upgrade to a newer model while ours still has some warranty. Or hopefully third party extended warranties become readily available that Tesla will accept payment from.
I don't have a Tesla, I will never have a Tesla, but these videos are very informative anyway. Great content, Bjørn! BTW, I was at Bilexperten a few days ago to change something small in my car, and Nazir and the other folks there were super nice. Totally recommended!
Great great video. So many details. You really get to know the Model X. I have a Model 3, but still very interesting. And Nasim is such a nice guy. If I lived in Norway I would have my car serviced by bilexperten.
Driving that distance had nothing to do with it. If you watched the issue videos about Optimus Prime, you would see that it had lots of early problems as Model X (new model into the market, like other car brands as well). Remember that this was Founder's Edition. Very early car.
Informative video. The elimination of motor noise is a real engineering problem with EV's as the cover noise is gone. Squeaks that went unnoticed before are now more irritating.
Waste of a good condenser. A local mechanic tried to make me replace mine in my dino-powered car due to high pressure in the system (since he claimed the filter and drier were fixed inside it and required replacement of the whole unit), but luckily I knew better. There's a screwed in plug on top of the condenser that allows you to replace the filter/drier. I took it to a different mechanic and replaced the drier/filter for 10 euro instead of the entire condenser for 500 euro and afterwards pressures in the system returned to normal.
Had a funny feeling the top mounts were the squeeking culprit on the last video. An easy job to do. I cant believe optimus is still alive and is actually doing ok.
16:05 I heard that Tesla has a permanent fix now, for the rattling problem. That way, Optimus will live forever. What a nice fate for the old workhorse. But Millennium Falcon runs out of motor and battery warranty this year?
A lot of these issues are why most cars have regular service intervals. When Tesla says they don't need service it can get down right dangerous if people don't get their cars checked.
It looks like the issues on OP are more related to cars in general than to electric car components! Does this mean that motor, battery, electronics, colant systems are running perfectly after 264km? Here at my country, a gasoline car would last only 150 km and would be destroyed interior and exterior even if you have done the correct maintenance! a diesel would last at least 300km but still would be all loose and squeaky!
@@bjornnyland ok, thanks for the answer, but still, those tires in the back - it was serious danger, especially for you Bjorn, because you had to drive more than 1000 km on them
Which bilexperten is this in Oslo ? , look like he knows more than the Tesla service centre I’m fed up fixing my car and returns back with some new issue from Tesla .
Seems a bit silly mounting an ac radiator in a position where crud can accumulate and just sit there the way it obviously has been on this car. Not the best design sometimes from Tesla engineers.
In Germany it is only illegal, if the licence plate is blocked. But if someone is bumping against the back of your car, you or your insurance might have to pay a part of the damage. This is because the damage could be less if the hook had been removed.
He did (or rather Tesla did and Bjorn didn't pay that much...) I remember he replaced the driveshafts once or twice and some control arms even then. The drive shafts were replaced once in warranty - maybe even the front drive unit.
"263k km"... The double "k" always bugs me. Can we please all agree on the use of Megameter? "236Mm" would sound a lot cooler and would make more sense scientifically.
Nope. Most regular people don't understand Mm. That's because the unit "km" is so common that people know exactly what it means. It's being used everywhere. Just think about it.
I wish every car mechanic was as good as Nassir.
he does love to replace parts. the condensor did not needed to be replaced. it just needed a clean.

HVAC tech here: its not needed to replace the condensor. its just needs a good clean. just a garden hose and soap to break the dirt is all you need.
Yes, they also make some good coil cleaner sprays that work well.
He talked about there being a leak on the underside, which seemed more the motivation for replacing it than just the cleaning aspect?
@@adamtm82 i saw no leak. only worn/leaking o-rings that are extremely common on car systems. it was just dirty. the oxidation is no reason to replace the part simply because the aooly they make the condensor from oxidizes naturally over the years. its normal. replacing it is just a waste of money. its cheaper and faster to just pull the part out, clean the snot out of it with a hose and coil cleaner outside and replace all the o-rings you can find and recharge the system. should take no more then 2 hours excluding the recovery machine time.
