I bought a brand new plaid and my car is shuddering off the lot. Took it into service and tesla said thats just how it is. Taking it to another service center to see if they give me the same reply.

Just dropped my model X off today at Valley frame in Canoga Park where they're going to install the Kit but not the lowering links as I really don't want it lowered and a firmer ride. Looking forward to a 50% Improvement on Tire tread life

After they were done installing the kit they did say hey by the way I don't know how much more life you got on these tires as the inner tread was starting to get a bit on the thin side oh, well it's been a year later and I still have the exact same tires on the back and I drive 6 days a week.
Did you have gas pedal vibration? And did it go away after?
@@HabibiGolf no my gas pedal has never done that before since I've owned it. Or the brake pedal. My only reason for doing the upgrade was to prolong the rear tires. And it worked out great, much better tire wear and life span.
I think you switched out bolts for the camber arm. The 15mm one should go to the outside and have a flat threaded end. The inner bolt should be 18mm and tapered at end.

After I install all these, do I still have the option to lower or raise the car height remotely?
Yes, the air suspension will still work as normal. Only now all settings would be a bit lower.
Seems like this is a Band-Aid to fix a problem that should've been addressed by Tesla. Tesla should know about this premature tire wear and simply fix this issue from the factory. I understand wanting to lower the car and it's great to have those links but the alignment issues is something that should be addressed by the manufacturer. I love Tesla and have a new model Y performance and fixing to upgrade to a plaid model S, so I'm not hating on the brand. Just seems like something Tesla could fix before these things roll out.

That's a good question, but no there isn't. It's the ride height that determines the angle of the half shafts. Of course you could be super gentle on acceleration especially on turns . That would be helpful.
Installing the kit drops the car down about 3/4 of an inch.
How low is safe without needing toe arms? Don’t want to have to cut bolts
That's a good question. Every Tesla is going to be a little bit different so I can't give you an exact number. That being said, oftentimes you don't need to cut the bolts. Sometimes they can be wiggled out. If they do have to be cut, it's generally not that difficult. As long as you have a fresh blade you can cut through the bolt pretty quickly.
Got a 2014 p85+ And i want to lower it! Do i need the full kit or only chamber arm and the links?
With a 2014 you should get camber and toe if you lower it. Otherwise you will most likely run out of toe out.

P-tuning in Manassas, VA is doing my install. N2itive recommended three shops in the DMV. I checked with them all. P-tuning was the only shop not charging absurd prices for alignment and install.

We are coming out with rear adjustable camber arms soon. Currently even the Plaid does not have adjustable camber in the rear. So there is still potential for inner tire wear.
what are the dimensions of the screw that needs to be replaced?

On the Plaid and Long Range it's phenomenal. Tesla's newly-designed suspension rides really well even lowered.

@@jantohamne3886 The older X is a bit firmer ride so we recommend setting the links to the - 4 setting to keep it from getting too firm.

So l ve just installed the alighment kit för the X and its like a new car. The alighment setting wasnt that easy,and the guys worked on it for a couple of hours. Now its more steady driving and it feels much tighter.

I just recently replaced my 2 front tires due to wires showing and bad wear on the inner part of the tires will this setup fix that ussue as well? Thanks
Generally there is enough adjustability in the front of a Tesla already to bring a situation like yours back into correct alignment with the OEM parts.

@@jsf644j it's a bit of a trade off. The ride is not as soft as before but you do get improved handling and responsiveness in addition to eliminating inner rear tire wear and reducing wear on your half-shafts.

I don’t understand the point! You’re charging $1600 for an arm to avoid tire wear. For $1600 someone will just deal with the tire. If you plan on keeping your car for 15 years then yes buy this product but most people won’t keep it that long.
The kit is not just an arm. There is much more to it than that. To understand why it makes a lot of sense to install the kit, you have to do the math. Most of our customers with bad inner rear tire wear are getting between 5,000 and 15,000 miles out of a set of rear tires before the inner edge is destroyed and the tires need to be replaced. With the kit installed, you can get 50,000 miles or more out of a set of tires, depending on the vehicle model and type of tires. I just changed my tires at 55,000 miles.
So for example, if you replace the 2 rear tires with 21” or 22” Michelin’s or Pirelli’s then that’s $400 to $600 per tire. So about $1,000 just for the rear tires. That means that if you currently only get 5,000 miles out of a set of tires, then you’re spending about $10,000 over a 2-4 year period on rear tires when you could be spending $1,000. If you’re getting 15,000 miles on a set of tires then it’s over $3,000 on tires, again instead of $1,000. Even if you choose to use cheap tires, you can still easily see how it pays for itself pretty quickly! Not to mention the amount of time saved in the hassle of getting new tires so frequently. Plus installing the kit has a big safety advantage since you’ve greatly reduced the possibility of getting a blowout while driving. And you won’t be left on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck along with those expenses.
So that’s just the cost of ongoing tire replacement. The kit also helps with saving the front half-shafts. This works by reducing the binding of the CV joints of the half-shafts to prevent them from getting damaged. When the front half-shafts get damaged, it generally results in the super common, “acceleration shudder” issue. Cost to replace the front half-shafts is over $2,000 per instance. Furthermore, the front half-shafts will need to be replaced more than once as it is a design flaw. We’ve had past customers tell us that they have replaced their front half-shafts 5-6 times before installing our kit.
Other advantages to having the kit on your Tesla are, improved range, improved handling, improved safety, and improved aesthetics (stance).
No need to wear a face mask for thumbnail (or at all, for that matter)… come on guys.
