I just bought loads of fabric and a mini sewing machine to make curtains for my HUGE windows, because just buying them would have been way too expensive. I had no experience whatsoever beforehand and thanks to your tutorial, the first one turned out great! Thank you for your helpful work 🙏🏽
Thank you, awesome detailed instructions. I am going to make back tap curtains with the 1” top for my granddaughter’s bedroom. Love having all the options.
Thank you Joy. I have made ruffle top curtains before but have always wondered how to make the tab curtains. This video is very helpful. You have a great way of teaching! Thank you!
I chose the curtains with the ruffle at the top. I made them to match my pillow covers that I followed on your tutorial to make pillow covers with a zipper. It was so easy. I love your channel.
This is an amazing video. I cannot thank you enough for sharing your wealth of knowledge. We are moving into my MIL to help care for her (once she gets released from nursing home) We have spent much time cleaning her home and all windows need curtains. For now I have to use what materials I have on hand. I’m excited to practice my skills using this video in the different rooms. This is my husband’s childhood home so it’s 65+ years old. Farmhouse look will be easy in this house. I’m excited to go check out your other videos.
I’ve recently subscribed to your channel and I’m not disappointed! You are very bubbly and fun to listen to. I’ve made the ruffle top curtains for most of my house. I have an old farmhouse that has some gorgeous wood framed windows and I don’t want to hide the wood so I put up just valance style curtains. I wish I had seen this video a couple years ago when I made them as I basically just winged it off the top of my head. Your explanation is precise and you don’t drag it out. I absolutely love the bonus curtain style at the end too! So cute!
I am thrilled to hear that Lisa!!! A ruffle valance would look beautiful on wood framed windows. I have done a simple flat valence in my boys rooms. But I was so tempted to add the ruffle!!! Happy sewing 🧵 💜
Thank you so much for this video. This is super helpful because I made a couple sets of curtains for my sewing room and this gives more details then I knew about.
Thank you Tamara! I’m about to make the curtains with the ties for my living room, a little confused about the inches because i’m from Argentina but I’ll try my best!
Super helpful video -- perfect amount of explanation for a beginner. I'm repurposing a single set of velvet curtains into two smaller sets, for bunk beds. I like the ruffle option but I am also intrigued by the ties. I wish I could find an inspiration photo for velvet curtains with ribbon ties, what are your thoughts?
My son asked me to sew curtains for my two year old grandson’s room so how could I say no? Not experienced in sewing curtains but knew I could find a video that explained things and I was fortunate enough to come across yours. Very easy and precise instructions that I believe I can handle so thank you. I do have a question though. Are curtain weights needed at all?
That's wonderful! I have not used curtain weights on any of the curtains I have made and have had no issues. The bottom hem alone will give it some weight to hold it in its place. But if you want to go right ahead :) Happy sewing!
I don't know what that popping noise is throughout the video, but I kept waiting for bubbles to pop out of the screen. In other words, they are distracting and add nothing positive to the presentation. Please pop-out the bubbles!
The pop sound is supposed to alert you to the fact that text has appeared on screen so you don't miss it. But I see I didn't line it up with the text as best as I could have.
for a "beginner", this video is WAY TOO FAST for me. I haven't even purchased my sewing machine yet, and I clicked on this video because it said beginner. I'm thinking I may just buy curtains!
I don’t think I would start with curtains as your first project with a sewing machine. Maybe try a simple pillow cover tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/QFW01Pm1Ue4/v-deo.htmlsi=2TQMfd6cp5VpxHuV or this table runner ua-cam.com/video/Mw8DFWv9RFE/v-deo.htmlsi=hdHN9PVbN9fzpMqG first just to get comfortable with your machine. Then I am sure you could make curtains depending on the style you choose. And when you are ready UA-cam has a great feature that lets you slow down videos so you don’t feel like I am going too fast. Hope that helps. Happy sewing 🧵💜🥳
Hello Tanantha, I'm aware of the purpose of the pop noise, what I'm saying it is very detracting from the presentation, and actually distracts the attention you're ironically trying to get. Please delete those annoying sound effects. thank you
Well Thank you for your feedback Peggy. Sadly I can not delete the noises after the fact, but I can take your feedback and consider it for future tutorials.
Thank you so much for this video. This is super helpful because I made a couple sets of curtains for my sewing room and this gives more details then I knew about.
