    What type of batting do you use? I want to try version 2 as I have a lot of cotton scraps, but the batting you are using is not the 4 oz batting that I use for purses.

      My batting scraps are cast offs from my quilts. So they are often a thin layer of cotton batting. Not too puffy. I hope that helps, and happy sewing!🧵

    I prefer versoion 2 for what I normally sew. I use version 3 when I am sewing lanyards. Nicely done.

      Love that thought when it comes to lanyards :)

    I’d definitely do 1 &2 versions. This will make good Christmas gifts when the fabric is customized to the individual (like college students)!! The 3rd version seems to be a good sturdy one for use if making a long handle for like walking the dog!!! Very nice ideas!

      I love this Sheila! I was thinking I would make them for my nieces and nephews this Christmas, and what a fun way to use up our scraps :)

      I am so glad to hear that! I am with you...I think it might depend on what fabric you are using as to which one would be best. Happy Sewing!

    Thank you so much! I knew there was a way to neatly finish the ends; now I know 2 ways. I’m not sure which I’ll use at this point. I’m subscribing first sure. 😊

    I like the idea of no1 or 2 as I have fob hardware. This way there won't be any raw edges when I clamp it. (from Brisbane Australia)

    Can you tell me what kind of Scotchgard spray you use for these and where do you get it from? I did a quick look on Amazon and it appeared that the sprays were very expensive. So I'm wondering if I was looking at the wrong.

    • @TamarasJoyDIY
      @TamarasJoyDIY  Рік тому +1

      Hi MaryAnn, I use the red bottle, "Fabric Water Shield" Scotchgard, but the yellow bottle would work too "Outdoor Sun and Water Shield", they even have one called "fabric crafts watershield". If it is too pricey on amazon, I would suggest looking at your local walmart. Or look for a smaller bottle, 283 grams. I have looked again and it seems easier to find on the canadian amazon then the american amazon. Not sure why that is!
