Nice to see a Stranger in RDR who seems like a genuinely happy sort and isn't found dead with vultures picking at it after his last encounter.
Give it time.
I thought that was going to be the last encounter. Glad it wasn't.
2:50 wearing a full on panther cloak in 100 degree heat: “it’s pretty brutal”
😂😂😂
My first thought once I heard that.
Fr, I was like: why are you wearing that in New Austin??? 😭
jim is probably sweating endlessly
@@rojasj789 looks badass
Just unreal....the connection to Helios, Rhodes, and his family is just the kind of nuanced but crucially researched detail that makes this game so amazing.
It kind of feels like they could have done more with the character himself, though. I dunno, some sort of mission or maybe some kind of event that occurred when you came across him after a number of times would have been preferable. It's another one of those things about this game that makes it feel unfinished, imo.
This is the best rdr2 content on all of UA-cam. Quality, facts, secrets and all we love.
Also fizhy he makes great content the strange man and fizhy both have great content
Amen 👏🙏
Stop saying same shlt every time bruh
@@Xx-PANDA-x360 you saying that i should stop saying that he is good at what he's doing or what you trying to say here?

Interesting met him a couple of times roaming new Austin didn't know he had that many encounters 👍
@Ash same as me i play this game many time but not for john after finished the game
I never encountered him I don't know how. I have platinum and explored all the map plenty of times.
@@pedroroque829 ya there's tons of secrets in this games people like him still find secrets after 4 years of it's release
One of the more wholesome characters in the game, he’s just glad and thankful all the time it’s a nice change of pace in the merciless desert of New Austin
Agreed
This character could be inspired by the esoteric concept of "light nurishment"
It turned into somewhat of a movement of people who believe that you can live just from the energy provided by sunlight. A german dude called Finn Bogumil left Hamburg to live in the woods on a Caribbean island where he would try to live off only the light provided by the sun and nothing else. He died after a few weeks of starvation. Maybe not directly linked but a similar story. The rdr character also looks very skinny. Maybe a hint to that idk lol.
technically you can do it just that he didnt do it correctly
Even plants still need nutrients.

1:33 "Enjoy the sun while you can, enjoy today... Tomorrow, it burns us all." - old man Brownlee
This INSANE. I can't even believe how much there is to this game...This is without any contest the best open world game there is, because it's actually a true world, with all of it's complexities and detailes... Insane!
And all those references and TINY DETAILS to mythology, history and all. damn it! its just brutal.
I literally spent almost 800 hours on this game and this is the first time I missed something
im not sure its the best
And all those cans of vegetables that I have to pick up, ONE BY ONE. :0
@@Redsky973 to be fair, I think I'm with you on this one. I absolutely love this game, but BEST is a bit of a stretch
He was created because fans that devote all of their time to finding secrets in game need to get some sun.....ok I'm not serious.
😂😂😂😂
That's actually an interesting idea if you delve into it. The sun worshiper blames Prometheus for bringing artificial light into the world. 9:49 He says that "Every stupid thing that man kind's done has been done under artificial light." That would include making RDR2 if you think about it. Personally I think the writers are just meme'ing on parents who are always telling their kids to put down the video game controller and go outside and play. John is like the kid complaining that it's too hot outside. Just like a parent who talks about how hard life used to be when they were a kid the sun worshiper says: "Hot is 130 degrees in the shade." We all heard our parents say crazy stuff like that when we were kids.
Played through this masterpiece of a game 3 times, not once have I encountered this guy. Although I have found something new in each play through, I wonder what else I have not seen yet.. Great content sir, once again.
Same

I like the guy.
He doesn’t seem like a crazy man
Just a man devoted to his religion, and wants to spread the word and positivity
Too bad skin cancer's gonna do for him.
I like that dude's vibe. Just wants to chill in the sun and for everyone to be a peace. Just 60 years too early and about 500 miles too far East

I played it eight times never even heard of him

10 runs and I’ve never heard of this guy until now..
I lied I actually played it 17 times and never found him
I beat the game four times, spent countless hours exploring with Arthur and even more with John, yet I didn't know this guy existed untill now. RDR2 really is a masterpiece of a game!
Same here, never came across that character, what an amazing game
I think I met him once
@@seanhoddy3129 same i met him once only
"This is a beautiful universe we have been given. Thank you ! Thank you !" This man appreciates the beauty of the universe more than the people I have ever met in rl.
One encounter for every hour of the day that the sun would cast it's shadow on a sun dial. I plotted out the locations on a map of New Austin to see if they were in the same places you would expect each hour to be on a sun dial. No such luck. After the 4th plot on the map I realized that it was not going to form a circle, and thus no sun dial. That would have been some real next level stuff if the worshiper appeared on the hour marks as if he were turning New Austin into a giant sun dial. Still a cool video and once again, I have to salute Rockstar for putting so much love into this game.
I think the writers are just meme'ing on parents who are always telling their kids to put down the video game controller and go outside and play. Yeah, reddead counts as enjoying nature

Strange man: he has 12 encounters
He seems like a wholesome fella, would give him some food and water in real life if I ran into him!
I don't think he would eat😆
He wouldn't drink or eat fam
Nah man, he looks like he only does photosynthesis.
Wow, another character I have never even heard of after 3 whole playthroughs...

MrBossFTW is clearly the best, he can make 10 minutes and 9 seconds of content out of something that could be explained in 2, so clearly he's a talented guy
At this point
Considering the amount of time john spent in the desert he might just be a sun worshiper himself
I have 1000 hours in this game, and it has been while since I said "I didn't know this was in the game", but I had NO IDEA this guy existed. I've never encountered him even once.
4:55 “It’s a bit hot for me.”
Also John: *wearing a legendary panther cloak*
The Aztec, Mayan, and Egyptians also associated the sun with a god of sorts. (Mayan: Kinich Ahau, Ra: Egyptian). I've also noticed if you listen to Los Santos Rock Radio, during commercial break, Lazlow mentions "chasing" a sunset. Saying if you travel fast enough, the sun NEVER "sets!?" If I remember, there's a TV commercial in-game, someone is worshipping the sun in the Grand Senora Desert?
Was just playing GTA5 story and noticed that commercial too
Sun Worshipper: _"We were made for this heat, made for it."_
Me: * laughs in redhead *
He has a regular trousers belt that I wish rockstar would add to the store.
PRAISE THE SUN
\o/
With all the voodoo/witchcraft in the game. I’m not surprised a “sun worshipper” is in here. “Sun worship” is also witchcraft, basically worshipping Satan. With “sun worshipping,” they call them that because the devil was the “angel of light” in heaven. It’s a long story
@@Ishbikessounds like catholic bs, worshipping the sun is simply pagan
If anyone is curious, the reason he has 12 encounters is because there are 12 hours in the daytime
Well done Strange Man! You never disappoint!
07:46 this is what makes Strange Man GOAT in comparision to any other rdr2 youtuber. Only he could have found a clue like this and of all places search in Saint Denis
He seems like a pretty friendly person, I wish you could give him food or something like that
I’ve beaten 100% of this game 4 times and I didn’t even know there is a sun worshipper
Huh
How
Bro how do you 100% so many times? I’ve beaten the story 100% 3 times, going on four. But I’m at 94% for the first time. I started this game in 2019. Jesus dude 😭

I knew of the existence of that man, but I did not know that it was possible to meet him several times.
RDR2 is an amazing game
The Sun Worshiper takes "Praise the Sun" to another level.

He is definitely from dark souls
It'd be interesting to follow the sun worshipper after the encounters and see what his daily routine kind of looks like

"It's a bit hot for me!" 🤣🔥
This is crazy. 14 play throughs, hours upon hours of gameplay and I’ve never once encountered this guy.
So much detail! Especially when you put all the puzzle pieces together. Honestly when I had my first encounter I thought he was just someone that you could push off the ledge, though I didn't even try, I really loved the reference to Helios since I'm a huge fan of Greek Mythology and had no clue about multiple encounters.
I thought he might be a reference to our Sun Bro. but I would like to know more
Niceeee, you finally uploaded again, I got this in my recommended

This guy just loves the sun nothing more he lives his best life
Thank you strange man for all the hard work and wonderfull vids!❤️🙌
Dude. You’re the best. For years in end. Thank you. Again.
Always a good day when Strange Man uploads a video
Also, in my six playthroughs I've literally never seen this character. Amazing that there is still so much left to discover in this 4 year old game.
i love the music choice for this, it brings a tear to my eye with truly how amazing this game can be.
I do truly enjoy the way you add the enrichment to the game. Thank You

...in my 3 100% runs of this game I never ran into this guy...I had to do some research and go though some guides to complete this game and I did notice some "sun worshiper encounters" listed, but I always assumed it was the crazy religious guy from the river near Annesburg and Butcher's Creek...I thought to myself, "he made it all the way out here?"...come to find it's this guy...and I've never ran into him...lol...amazing game...
You forgot the part about Prometheus(as in explaining why he hates him), Prometheus was a Titan who loved Mankind the most, he went against the gods numerous times to better Mankind, the final straw was him stealing light from "Mount Olympus", to give to Mankind, thus providing both fire and advancement. His hatred of Prometheus stems from his hatred for unnatural light, aka the stolen fire, fire not provided via Helios(the Sun), but via combustible air and a spark (fire).
Now this actually does mean something, and its something big. There are two trains of thought, one that the gods/God is always right, and that their/His will should always be obeyed to the letter, and the other that they can be wrong (heck God in the Holy Bible even concedes to the will of Men sometimes), thus we have two camps, one is camp Prometheus, the camp putting Mankind First, and the other is camp Zeus/gods, putting the will of the gods/God first and foremost. If you want to see this, look no further then the first book of the Holy Bible, where Eve falls for the Snake's/Devil's wit and partakes from the fruit of the tree of knowledge, becoming self aware, this leads to the condemning of not only Eve and Adam, but ALL OF MANKIND, be it you, me, or the newborn baby that was just born the moment this got posted. Now, had Eve not listened to the Snake/Devil, and never partaken of the fruit of knowledge, you would not be reading this, for we all would still be living in complete bliss in the Garden of Eden, mind you our intelligence would be on the same level as that of a Toddler at best, and at worst that of a animal, be it a intelligent animal.
or if you would rather gaming terms, are you Templar or Assassin from Assassin's Creed? Do you support the damnation of Mankind, for the freedom that comes with knowledge and understanding, or would you have had rather things gone according to the gods/God's plan, and the Earth be in perfect balance, at the cost of Mankind never making it past the Stone Age in AoE/Civilization? Is Paradise Perfected on Earth worth what is for all intents and purposes enslavement, if that enslavement meant you never needed, or wanted for anything, never got sick, cold, went hungry, or had a higher level of thought pass that of a Toddler?
Our Friend the Sun Worshiper here belongs to camp Templar, and would like nothing more then for us to sit around all day basking in the light of God, while doing nothing else, is that Heaven for you, or your own personal hell? Depending on your answer, you will know rather you belong to Zeus(Helios)/The Templars, or the Snake/Assassins (worth mentioning that pre-Judaism, the worship of/reverence for the Snake was mainstream, and that only with Judaism and later Christianity would the Snake and its image be condemned as being evil).
Thanks for the cool read
Thank you for taking the time to write all that out. Very insightful!
Well done, this is crazy
Background music is so epic, I love them!
Gosh, he has a damn sympathic voice. I think I never this guy once in my 2 play throughs :D

Love that you’re wearing a fur in the desert.
I have not came across this man yet. But can't help but watch your videos they are done so beautifully. Although rdr 2 is not your creation you enhance it by 10 folds. Thank you

I hardly ever encounter any of this stuff until I see it on your videos then I search it out for myself so thanks for the help
"A bit too hot for me" says John, wearing his panther skin cloak.
That thing in the mountain must be a sun watch if you look it from above you can see the shadow of the stone moving as time passes by.
It’s a “sun dial”
rdr2 never runs out of content or gets old
the music made this a real treat
thank you, strangeman

I’ve been playing this game for years, and I wouldn’t have ever known about the sun worshipper if it wasn’t for this channel. Thank you 🙋🏾♀️😭🙌🏾.
Can't help but to think this character is an elaborate dark souls reference
Every Strange Man video is a good video
Your videos are the best
The quality of your videos and the content are prime
Now that is absolutely astonishing
Nice work
In all of my playthroughs of RDR II, I have never encountered the sun worshipper, so this was a most welcome video indeed, more so for marking on the map where his encounters are triggered.
Great video
Just to add something, Helios or in the original greek Ήλιος doesn't only refer to the deity but also to the actual planet. So a connection with the spaceships could be made
There's actually Landmarks of Riches treasure map 4 that leads to this last location with the sun and clock on, so it is quite possible to be the fact about that 12:12
It was added in Dec update on consoles and been exclusive on day 1 on PC.
Love your intro
