I would honestly pay money for an “Extended Version” of the game with a lot of its cut content. A lot of the stuff seems to be cut for no reason tbh
It’s amazing how good some ideas sound, and then once implemented are actually not anywhere what you thought they would be. My guess is with how much everyone liked the game, they made the right choice in cutting it. It’s like in a horror movie where the things that are scariest are the unknown things, this sounds incredibly interesting to me too, but the mystery is what makes it interesting. Most excellent works of art that have extended editions don’t really live up to the much more focused experience of the original in my experience, Lord of the Rings movies being an obvious exception.

With the option for games to get DLC these days, Idk why Rockstar hasn't released any for the single player mission. I was really hoping for an Undead Nightmare 2 but it's been 3 years since the game's release so I don't see it happening
It sucks that the original crew left Rockstar. You can tell that they had so many plans for the single player side of the game, and now we'll never get any of it.

It was probably due to pacing issues, at least she still got to be part of Arthur’s backstory and quite an important part at that.
yeah and i liked John's interaction with her, "do i know you?". probably supposed to be an encounter like with the other gang members in the epilogue
It would've changed the fundementals of Arthur's arc and how were supposed to feel towards it, Rockstar were smart cutting her character out.

So from the "Well, if it isn't John Marston" and "Eliza, I was" lines it practically states that Eliza was in fact a survivor of the downfall of the Van Der Linde Gang and would be able to be found in one of the towns like Tilly and Pearson
Or it could be in camp. Some gang members will say hello to each other, even referring by name.

Yeah I hate to be that guy but I think strange man has it wrong. She was supposed to be Arthur's girlfriend. I'm guessing after Arthur's son died in the original version of the game she was supposed to try and run away leading to the "are you trying to get yourself killed" dialogue. I'm guessing she'd have been an irritating pain the ass and John nor most of the other members would've had a lot of respect for her similarly to Molly.

“Delete” is a very strong word. If you want every single cut idea in a game, the result will likely be a badly paced and cluttered mess. Every game has things that just don’t work. She just happens to be one of those things.

Honestly I prefer what they did with her after her deletion, the way Arthur talks about her and their son just added so much depth to his character, it made it feel like because Arthur misses them that we did to and made me further understand how he turned into the outlaw we found in chapter one. Making his whole ark just feel so much more impactful.
I get what you’re saying, but they probably would’ve had that bit of his backstory regardless, just with a different name for the girl he knocked up.
The John Marston voice clip makes me think she would have appeared in the epilogue

I love how arthur never talked about his kid / eliza, showing how much he loved them and how close they got to his hearth, and the fact that he tells that to rains falls shows the confidence he feels with him
So Eliza became like Gavin's friend. Nothing than a Rockstars unending mystery after adding and removing.

It's just 1 and she wasn't a gang member from the get go. It was late game that she shows up.
I always imagined Arthur would receive letters from Eliza at the post office from time to time. Then he noticed the letters stopped coming; sparking the mission where he finds out Eliza and Issac are dead.
I bet all the Easter eggs and secrets will be found when Red dead online actually gets a good update

I wonder what he's going to cover after he finishes with RDR2. I mean there is only so much. He can't cover something like, "There was suppose to be grass in this area, but they decided not to put it there." I hope he goes for Witcher 3 or something of that nature eventually.

That would of been a painful scene. You walk down into the basement, have a prompt come up when you get close to the poster. Arthur finds out it's him, and you fill in the rest.

I wish Eliza was not deleted and Mary`s missions were increased.
While it would have been interesting to meet and get to know Eliza, I think it was the right call because you would have had to pad out the game longer to properly develop her character. Also, since you meet her late into the story it would have felt like the plot took a back seat to properly flesh out the whole love interest arc again.
Well to be fair i think originally there was 8 chapters. So meeting her in C5 might not have been so bad originally.
Eliza looked beautiful they should've changed her role from love interest to just a regular gang member instead cmon rockstar it wasnt that hard
Her being tragically killed with Arthur's son in the past adds more to the story than a last minute filler gang member or a love arc that screws with story progression, plus there's already enough women in the gang already lmao

Some of us on r/reddeadmysteries have a different theory.
Someone (i.e. me) found an old panel that the cast did where Roger Clark mentioned that he doesn't remember Eliza's name but that Isaac froze to death in Colter at the beginning of the game, so it seems like Eliza was in the game from the beginning.
Another Redditer on the same subreddit found an actual character model named Eliza in the game files. It was a topless model of a really exotic looking woman.

I find satisfaction that she was the Mother of Arthur's son, and that their fates matched that which was manifested by the actions of Arthur Morgan and His participation in Dutch's gang.
This guy, running this channel, is amazing. The way he makes his videos, the way he narrates them etc... They’re all interesting and super cool considering rdr2 is probably my favorite single player game.

I thought Sadie was the cut love interest. I could be wrong, but they've said before that they deleted scenes and dialogue because there was originally a love story between Arthur and Sadie.
They never said the love interest was specifically between Arthur and Sadie. That's merely fan conjecture.

I think having Eliza in the game would have changed Arthur's story pretty drastically. If she was his love interest, Arthur may have fought harder to stay alive and/or leave the gang with her.
I think the audio file in which she introduces herself to John is actually post main story, as in those encounters you get with other gang members. Sounds like the audio file cuts-off before something along the lines of "I was part of Dutch's gang" is actually said. Would make a lot more sense if you ask me.
Exactly what I was thinking, the dialogue implies she already knows John, it seems like John just forgot her.

This is most likely from Epilogue, after you randomly bump into her in some town like Tilly for example, and she recognizes him.
The dialogue was cut, but she would probably say: I was... "riding with you guys for a bit after we came from Guarma" or something like that.
Since John wasn`t that much around the camp after Guarma events, no wonder that he didn`t recognize her immediately.

It would have been cool to see Eliza but I do understand why they deleted her because if she was only supposed to come in after chapter 5, Arthur is heavily affected by TB, leaving him very little time for another relationship.

Would be cool if there was a mod for this game like "Cutting Room Floor" for Skyrim that put some cut content into the game. Obviously a whole character would be hard to do, but I bet somebody out there would try voice acting for the cut characters.

I would have enjoyed some more missions on Guarma, especially something like a love interest, it would have distracted from the other crap you had to deal with on that island. However, I can understand why they didn't keep it, since most people run through that chapter as fast as possible longing to get Arthur back home, they likely wouldn't have cared much for those missions. I think they were trying to make the chapter longer, then realized that people would prefer it to be short, so they kept only what was necessary.
I think that even though I would’ve liked to see what it would’ve been like if eliza was in the game, I think that if rockstar decides to make another prequel then we’ll have an opportunity to see how the death of arthur’s son impacted him

I would have LOVE to see Eliza. Imagine all the romantic scenes between her and Arthur. Hey, Rockstar gives us that 5-hour cut scene you've scraped off. Actually if you read his journal, he was originally supposed to be in love and had his heartbroken by Abigail. He talks about marrying her if it weren’t for John.

Plot twist: Eliza's poster hangs in Edmund Lowry's room because she was one of his victims.
That means Lowry killed Eliza and Isaac. (I know that doesn't make sense but I just wanted to say it)
