I remember before I knew just how far it had spread through my body finding out Arthur had TB and him having to come to terms with his life ending short while I was doing the same. It's kind of poetic how the game starts with Arthur finding John and bringing him back to the gang and ends with Arthur sending John on his way away from the gang, saving his life both times.
and honestly thats the only way rdr2 made sense. we are all older than when we played rdr1 so it feels like were now the older brother of our old selves. Dealing with the concequences of our actions. At least its like that for me

I read this right when she said it
why
We truly didn’t deserve the performance we got from Roger Clark as Arthur. So much emotion tied to his portrayal. He brought to life one of the most tragic gunslingers and one of the best written characters, arguably of all time. For that, I’m thankful I got to experience this all.
Agreed, it's weird to think about he almost didn't get the part
Agree, Arthur and Geralt of Rivia are for me the best written characters the decate has to offer.
I still like John better. Arthur fights the image he has of himself, John fights his own nature. I guess which protagonist is better written is entirely subjective. John is an utter and total badass though, his one liners puts everything Sergio Leone has put on screen to shame so therein also lies my guilty pleasure.
Since RDR1 came out for PlayStation and i heard about the story(saw clips on youtube) - I longed for a RDR2 on PC(I just CAN'T play with controllers ..just can't!) - And finally it came!
Tree years later, I still can't get myself to finish chapter 3 - I just keep roaming the land ..hunting, fishing, doing treasure hunt, exploring ..and enjoying the spectacular view - enjoying life!
I can't bare to see him so sick and dying....

You’re not wrong, kratos... not wrong
Although Arthur can encounter the Strange Man in some way, at the shack in the Bayou area, I think the Blind Man is Arthur’s version of him. Telling him cryptic things and seeming to know more than he’s letting on. Even if you kill him he reappears elsewhere soon enough.
John can meet the blind man too, who says "two men seek you I'm unsure what the other wants" Something along those lines. He refers to the Pinkertons, and the strange man
Edit: it's "two strangers seek thee, one from this world, perhaps one from another, one brings hatred, I'm not so sure what the other one brings"

alexdaoi m, Don’t think so?
I thought the "Keep moving, Sir. Keep Moving! But Don't move too fast" is the game telling me to do the main story but don't rush it cuz Arthur will die
Thought exactly the same
Maybe only to the people who didnt play the first one.
Things we say can have double meanings, Eminem even made a whole track telling two stories at once.
I took it as, to not rush through the story so you can utilize the other aspects of the game and hunt and craft and get everything out of it without rushing through the story too fast and arthur getting sick and dying.
Yeah Cassidy is kinda telling you that your about to lose a person you really like so do different things other than completing the story mode
“Loyalty is both your saving and your curse” sums up the whole game tbh. Arthur’s loyalty to Dutch made him die, Johns loyalty to Arthur and seeking vengeance for him even though Arthur told him not to look back. What a powerful line. Always gives me goosebumps. What an amazing game
I think it differently. He was a loyal person throughout the story. It was his curse because his loyalty was to a man that maybe at the beginning was reciprocated by Dutch, but at the end it was used against him, even the process of losing it was gradual throughout the game. But it also was his blessing because by showing loyalty to others like John and Sadie they were loyal to him even after death.
I think he meant metaphorically "dont look back" in the sense that you need to escape this life.
The loyalty of Arthur was genuine, Dutch's idea of loyalty was that he was a puppeteer
The right “Star” arthur should have followed was Mary linton when she asked him to run away with her
I feel like if Hosea was never killed nor anyone else then the gang would've split way earlier because Dutch seemed to already be going insane from the very beginning
not really bc then john wouldve stuck with dutch, there really was nothing he could do since if he left he would be leaving the other gang members and they mightve died
Arthur would've still died of tb without helping John and his family escape.
Nah Arthur was dying and would have infected mary
Mary was just using him.
When Arthur said "you go with my blessing" to Trelawny...it felt different

@@JustAnotherAccount8 it’s not just about the gameplay tho and which is better, it’s the story telling
GTA VI or RDR3
@@JustAnotherAccount8 I don’t know if I could pick a favorite between the two. But each time I play rdr2 or the Witcher 3 I get that thought. Might be a long time before we see anything better than those games.
after this game, every other game look so simple, cheap, meaningless.we dont deserve this game. absolute masterpiece, there is no game, movie, tv show on this world who can be in this rank. rdr2 than 10 ranks left than everything else
Can’t say why, but Arthur’s death made me feel like I’d lost someone I’ve known for a long time, very depressing, but a testament to the game for making me feel the way I did
It’s because we got to play as him and help him be a better person so it felt like our journey
I played the game slow and finished it like after 3 months so, it really does feel like I lost someone close to me. Arthur's the only one that's there for me when people in real life isn't. So close yet so far. RIP Arthur Morgan, The Greatest Legend Of The East. 💔😪
I read somewhere that your brain can’t really tell the difference between fictional love and human love! so when you love a character and they die and it saddens you, that’s because your brain really thinks they died.
Same I like rdr and saw people play it but I could never connect with John the way I connected with Arthur
I lost it when they killed Hosea, but then Aurthur's death just hit me so hard. But I was happy to see John go on to live life to the fullest considering Authur sacrificed himself for John.

When arthur died he felt more like hosea's son than dutch i feel like hosea was smiling down at him
in arthur’s journal he says he liked Hosea more than Dutch
@@rinzler1801 yeah lol one of the quotes from his journal is "Dutch is like a father to me but i love Hosea more."
I felt so bad after Hosea died because I really liked him. going hunting with him and all that made me really happy.. He was more of a father for Arthur then Dutch ever could
Hosea reminded me of a cool grandfather who would take you fishing and hunting and have endless stories to tell
Just think what could've happened if the Pinkertons never got their grubby little hands on Hosea
Encountered him twice as Arthur, and in pretty close time between each encounter. He feels more like a prophet, like an actual prophet of the Lord, because he was in two totally different places within such a short time and has a lot of knowledge. If not that, it definitely still feels supernatural. I gave Arthur the best possible ending with the highest honor. Anything less just feels non-canon.

“what is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?” -Paarthurnax
Joshua Salsman but if you were born good you have never known it’s true worth.
@Joshua Salsman I think the better interpretation is "to be born good (and stay good), or to resist the darker parts of you, forsake the evil you were inclined to do and repent?"
both are honourable
@@rinzler1801 True, but it's far easier to be born good and maintain that good and so it's the path unearned. To overcome inherent evils and attain a good moral standing through will and effort is far more noble as it requires a desire and conviction to become more than you are. It would be just as easy for someone born into evil ways to remain evil, but to actively seek to change from that evil and better yourself is no small feat.
Be a Good Person even if the evil nature want's to blind U, Never Give Up
The fact that Arthur forced John to flee as he went to make a futile stand makes John doing the same at the end of RDR1 more tragic. I like to imagine that John empathised with how Arthur was feeling in that moment. Doomed to die but being okay with it.
But Arthur didn't die fighting anyone but Micah. Even if he ran with John, Arthur would have died from TB at the bottom of the mountain. He was dead either way.
Tbh, I interpretet the "That which is killing you will help you finally to see" line differently. It was the first one I heard from the old man when I started a second playthrough. It felt like the "seeing part" wasn't about Arthur realizing that the gang is falling apart because of Dutch. I much rather thought the sickness made him realize his mistakes and made him all the more appreciative of being able to help people instead of making it worse for them. Even though he was always a good man at heart, he often hid it behind the outlaw, the muscle, the enforcer. The criminal that he deemed necessary to protect and serve his gang - Dutch.
But the sickness let his good heart finally shine through and helped him see what was important.
My favorite quote is when Cassidy tells Arthur he will "stand firm" because Arthur's song is about standing unshaken. Geez, this game and it's foreshadowing. Nice video and great editing as always!

The last mission of RDR taught us all an important lesson. Never forget to visit a fence and stock up on dynamite.
2:12 it could also refer to Arthur's very own confusing sense of morality, he knows there is a constant fight between good and bad in him (the honor system)
5:10 could also refer to the money ending, if you follow the analogy that Micah is indeed the devil, (the one with the forked tongue) the sacrifice is then Arthur's death, surrounded by fire and dead bodies.
Watching arthur having fun before he dies is a truly heartwarming and heartbreaking thing
Whenever I found out Arthur was sick I made sure to do everything I could to make amends and have fun, because when my father was stricken with cancer I watched him die as quick as Arthur. Something as simple as my dad laughing while watching TV was just... I don't really know how to explain it. It was just nice to see him having a good time while we weren't sure of how things were gonna turn out. If I could have done more with my father I would have, so I carried that onto Arthur.

And felt so guilty for not helping John as well. Next two gameplays (since I switched to a different console) I helped John twice and wanted to see the stag rather than the wolf walking into the cave..
I feel like it is so much harder to maintain a bad walkthrough in this game because the karma/bounty system is really a thing. And things get back at you wayyyy harder. It's going to be more expensive, it's going to be hard to even get to know people, and.. Blargh. Having him die watching the sunrise and having the flowers in his grave. 😢
"Your whole life, sir, you have followed the wrong star"
Sunlight 4Life it hits hard but he followed Dutch cuz he was good Micah screwed Dutch up
I want advice like that
Don't I know it!
Tomori san don't you think that it was Micah who fucked up Dutch cuz Dutch was a goat in the start
Even after that folks still defend D Dutch.
"You are not who you think you are, which is lucky"
Fuck that hit way too close to home
"I wish things were different, but it weren't us who changed"
~Arthur Morgan ~
This game made history in gaming...
God, this game has been out for over a year and I've replayed the story so many times and I still feel saddened over the Arthur's death and how everything else turned out.
The Amazing Angsty Teen - Man felt that 😔
You need to play RDR1 then.
Three saddest moments in the game, for me:
3: Lenny's death. It hurt so bad. I loved the guy.
2: My horse's death. I watched the cutscene where Arthur comforts his horse as she dies. It also hurt badly. I spent hours taking care of her.
1: Arthur's death. It hurt. It hurt so bad. I nearly cried.
One of the saddest videos I've ever seen. Seeing Arthur enjoy life while it last 👏
John 15:13: "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends."
Old Man Cassidy’s advice for Arthur to help John and his family live on when he couldn’t, oh man that had to be the best way Arthur could enjoy his final moments
I got the you didn’t run far enough since we last spoke as my 1st quote and in chapter two
Rockstar made a genius work!! The detailed of this mysteries, the depth of each story in the game is incredible! 💯
I just can't get enough of this game, I've completed it twice and I'm still finding new things to do, there's always a great video like this one that makes me want to keep coming back and do it from a different angle
The blind: ...a man with no nose is coming for you...
Voldemort: yes
Thats exactly what i tought
Your both are talking about me and Arthur how’s heaven
I thought this too😂
Dude, you’re an incredible editor.
Granted the content you’re working with is a wonderful work of art, but you manage to do it justice, and get all the emotion, characters and true meaning of the story through to the viewer in only a few minutes.
Today you made me relive a story that I love in a refreshing way, and I thank you for that!
Edit: grammar
Yeah especially the part where it john walks into his house in rdr2 and then arrives in rdr1. I just find it very smooth editing
This feels so much like a teaser trailer to a movie, the music and the dialogue, man this gave me feels
This is beautifully set up by far my favorite video you have done!
0:33 Arthur goes to heaven because “paradise awaits, Paradise!
Huh so its canon arthur goes to heaven
OkYAy THeN
People only will say he goes to hell is because they compare Arthur to today’s standards, for that time and the circumstances he was put through I would say Arthur would go to heaven.
@@thelogic3341 Yes, the term "Paradise" is more often than not attached to the idea of Heaven itself.
damond green Nope, not from what he did at in the past, just because he done a few things good in the ending, doesn’t mean he’s good if he didn’t get Tb he would still be mean I think because he isn’t sick
sbrw He didn’t just do a “few” good things at all the points in the story he helps different people in need and does the right thing and he was still a pretty good man even when he didn’t know he would die but him dying made him realize that he needed to tie the loose ends before he left like getting the innocent of the gang to a place where they could live normal lives, and helping the Downes family after causing them to live a hard life, and in the end sacrifices himself by helping John get to get to his family to live normal lives instead of getting revenge on the people who betrayed him like Dutch and Micah.
6:20 right after burning down braithwaite mansion and Milton confronts Dutch at the camp Dutch says "I'm nothing but a seeker"
Desire is the greed of all man, desire for more then they should have
I forgot that. Good eyes and ears yOu
“I’m nothing but a seeker”- “you’re nothing more than a killer Mr. Van Der Linde.”
I honestly love watching your videos, I really do. The work you put in to it, and it all makes perfect sense. Cannot put it into words, amazing would be an understatement. I would say that Red Dead Redemption’s whole game purpose is learning, to find out what truly matters to you, no matter what it takes for you to realize it. I believe the Tuberculosis had a big reasoning behind it, it wasn’t just there to give a reasoning behind Arthurs death or make the story sadder somehow. "Theres a good man within you, but he is wrestling with a giant" He starts seeing things clearly after getting his diagnosis, he starts helping people and realize that maybe he was not the bad man he thought he was, and that there was infact good in him no matter what it took for him to realize that fact, but worth it in the end.
"Embrace those who love you, not the memory of those who pretend to”, salt looks the same as sugar, meaning you should be careful and aware of who you are trusting, however the message is saying that the past is the past, and the best thing to do is embracing the good people instead of regretting.
“Keep moving but do not move too fast”, do not rush, just enjoy your time while it lasts. Pay attention to small things in life, it may become a great memory later. Help people, small things make a difference. Arthur makes the best of his life, in his final moments. Always make the best of moments.
The wise man, Cassidy, is blind. It has a meaning. Maybe we do not always require vision to see things clearly. Sometimes the things we cannot see are the most obvious. I do not think it was a coincidence.
Another thing I paid attention to is the honor status, never seen another game have that (correct me if i’m wrong), either way that itself just shows how this game really tries to tell you something. You need to be better than Micah to see the sunset in the end. Make the best of your life and it will come with rewards. Endings based off of your actions, how other people remembered you, etc. Karma is real. John getting that reward in New Austin was not just a coincidence, of course. That was an actual reward for him. I get that tons of people will not read this and will most likely scroll past it, but that’s okay, however for those who read this, I’d like to say that nothing is a coincidence & you for sure didn’t read this for nothing. This may sound a bit pathetic but honestly, Arthur has done so much impact on me as a person.
Conclusion: RDR2 is more than just a game, it’s a deep lesson. I believe Arthurs character was made to bring a message upon this world, whatever that message may be is up to you.
Never stop making those videos! Very interesting & entertaining. :)
Let me know if I forgot anything.
Wasn’t ready for the transition at 14:07 and it literally made me gasp, such a simple edit like that was really touching. This entire video is an incredible edit.
This is gonna sound stupid but until I read your comment I didnt even realise it switched to rdr1 it was so smooth
I didnt even notice lol
I always knew the old man was referencing and foreshadowing throughout my first time time playing, but when you connect them all like this, just hits abit harder, arthurs death is one I've truly never gotten over
Im still getting over it:)
Even after experiencing Arthur's death twice firsthand, it still hits hard. Such a tragic end to the best character in videogame history. This video makes it hit even harder. It felt so real.
Really love your video's. The time, effort and detail you put into them. The more I find out about this game the more I love it
The lore in this game is one of the best I’ve ever seen

The strange man is the most intriguing character. On the surface, his involvement seems minor, but you make it clear that he plays a bigger (even if subliminal) role in the whole story. I would love to have more about him, a dlc or a much more prominent role in a future game. I just cant get enough of this character.
Great video and great channel, I pretty much binge watched all of your red dead mysteries videos.
A more prominent role would ruin it, the mystery is why you can't get enough of him
Maybe a blackwater massacre dlc with the strange man stranger quest
He's just John's conscience.
@Tony & Paul The devil wouldn't persuade John to talk a man out of cheating on his wife. The devil would tell him to encourage the man. The strange man is most likely God.
It’s a NPC, chill the fuck out
I’ve just gotten into playing Red Dead and literally all of your vids have helped me out and gave me straight chills. Totally worth subscribing :3
Yup.. I have my own "blind man casidy". My dad. His words are like riddles and when you found it, it all makes sense.
The strange man. When Joh shoots his gun.
1st shot: Uncle Dies
2nd shot: Abigale dies
3rd shot: John Dies
4th Shot Jams: Jack Lives.
@Honey Hive the strange man ( god) is showing that only jack would live and the others would die
@@sarumen126 Not really God, more like a Grim Reaper.

@Honey Hive cartridges would misfire or fail to fire alot in those days with the science behind load the new, at the time Cartidge ammunition. The music, the escenes, the editing....this is a masterpiece
"Even when all reason is lost, and all truth has become lie, you will stand firm". After all, Arthur Morgan stood unshaken
Amid the crash of worlds.
Truly an amazing job on the editing in this.
"Embrace those who love you, not the memory of those who pretend to." thats hits so hard
hell the whole video hits so HARD.
thank you Strange Man.
Extraordinary work as always, Strange Man.
...And just realized that blind man Cassidy's voice actor is the same as Hosea.
It's not at all clear. Must be some pretty talented voice actor
Also strangers in the streets. Some sound the same as Dutch, Hosea, Javier and the other gang members
@@1DancingDuck Yeah theres also a part in the epilogue when John meets back up with charles in Saint Denis where you can hear Arthur's voice actor as an npc.
@@MrZomBie775 he's back from purgatory (admit it. He's a baddie as well as a good guy) to usher in the new wholesome reunion of ganf members
@@jay-5061 lmao, pretty sure it's just a cool cameo. And considering Arthur wanted John to leave the past behind him and the whole gang reunion thing leads to the exact opposite, I doubt it.
So I know I’m late to the party but wow. I’ve watched probably 10 of your videos today and they’ve left me so amazed and intrigued by RDR2 more than ever before. I knew there were secrets but not this many! But regardless of that, this video (and honestly the wonderful editing throughout all of your vids) have left me wanting to play the game for myself. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen most of the story of the game through my husband playing it. But vids like these leave me wanting to play for this wild rollercoaster of emotions and adventure. Thanks for the amazing videos!
This video is really good. I am watching it for the second time. Good processing, music, content. You did a great job.

8:59 the way how that deer comes onto the screen is well done. It feels so powerful.
I've only heard a few of Cassidy's warnings over several play throughs, but hearing these fortunes makes what Arthur goes through that much harder for me to bear. It's a testament to a game that a character's story can affect the player over and over again.
When he said"enjoy the world" and see arthur siting on the edge, iwas sad almost cried 😢😢
There are more besides those, he told me after killing micah: "You looked to your past in exchange of your future"
wow the best rdr2 video and well explained vid, your editing is so good, keep it up bro
3:32 is all everyone needs to put the “Abigail is the real rat” theory to rest.
4:14 I also think the point of "loyalty being also his curse" could mean that it was his loyalty to the gang which damned him in the first place - He was so loyal to the gang that he was willing to help Strauss with the loan-sharking despite knowing how detestable it is, and hating every second of it. And naturally...well...we all know how he got TB.
How?
Luiz Spindola Because of when he beat up Thomas Downes, he also got sick because Thomas Downes had tuberculosis
@Moo micah wasn't loyal and still died so its lose-lose for everyone
Strauss did nothing wrong. It's not like rich folk take loans
I think collectively I’ve given that guy 50 dollars in my play through
After years....still the best "mystery solved" vid. Music, Cutting, Storytelling.... a real and rare masterpiece on youtube.
Bravo! Your work is unbelievable. I’m hooked
“Your whole life sir, you have followed the wrong star” is the most chilling one, especially if you get it really early on in the game
