- People say benzoyl peroxide is 'too irritating': it's because we often use WAY too much of it! When it comes to retinoids, we all know it should be a 'pea-sized amount'. But with benzoyl peroxide I see people using it like it's a moisturizer!
Here's how to use it safely for your acne.

This explains why I was getting some dark itchy burning rash when I used it. I think I keep pressing double the pea-sided amount instinctively. Saving this video.
Use benclin gel it's too good. I'm using this. I have also the same problem but benclin gel works best for me. My dermatologist recommend this to me.😊

I loved benzoyl peroxide. It was the only thing that worked for my acne growing up. Ever since I have face eczema I avoid that now. I don’t really miss it either since it dyed/bleached my towels, cloths, pillow cases, shirts, and a little bit of my hair.

How is it possible to spread that to the entire face? Better to use the cleanser and use the topical to spot treat
mix it with moisturizer but you have to mix it well so you don't get an uneven application.

@@21972012145525 it's enough. It's not a moisturizer that you're gonna need to feel. It just needs to spread and it will work. Also, depending on your face you can add more if you want. I've been applying this amount of adapalene for a while and I can spread it easily.

I have used a high amount of 10% gel like a facewash, leaving on for only a few minutes. I'm not even sure that has helped me at all, maybe just a bit. Sometimes I left it on my face for a few hours and was left with black spots that stayed for months. Good to know this.
I use sunscreen, not really sure if it would be better to use the facewash or to mix benzoyl with the sunscreen. I use tretinoin before sleeping too.
I use the same technique because after a month following the recommended application techniques it wasn't working. Now Works for me though.. an hour or 2 application. overnight application. No black spots but rather a coolness on my face as though its at peace. I don't know if its because my skin is dark coloured that's why. But I am extremely careful exposing my skin to the sun. Only side effect i noticed is, its readily absorbed expecially into glands so sometimes my tear glands irritate my eyes and sometimes could have that in my mouth

That’s weird cause it’s never been irritating for my skin and I use 10% concentration for the spot treatment. But maybe my skin is just really not sensitive cause I’ve never gotten a sunburn and I rarely use sunscreen tbh

I use about twice that amount and 10% 😅 doesnt irritate my skin tho. I just massage it in for like 3mins and then wash it off then moisturize

I think people use a lot because it just doesn't work for some people, so they feel they need to use more. I think adapalene is superior. Or adapalene and benzoyl peroxide combo.

benzoyl peroxide reduces inflammation fast, so minimizes chances of pigmentation. Once you HAVE pigmentation, retinoid helps fade it

I used this very often to create a sort of "chemical burn" on my skin and wait a pair o week to let the skin self heal. Was a very stupid choice...

Probably, tretinoin would likely to be fine too (though you have to use even less than benzoyl). I used benzoyl peroxide when I was even younger with no harmful effects other than some spots that took months to go away, but that could have been avoided by listening to this dermatologist's advice. I don't get those spots anymore. Accutane should be avoided at all costs though, because it can severely harm how your body functions.
I wish I watched this before I applied it for the first time 5 minutes ago and used a lot more than that for my chin.

Doc I don’t understand why it doesn’t work with me? I leave it 4 minutes and wash it but the acne doesn’t get affected at all, they say it is supposed to dry out the pimple but I don't notice any difference, even the White thing in the middle of the pimple (the oil ) didn't go
it doesn't necessarily go away within hours, can take 12-24 for example for any difference.

You can use more for the back! Much thicker skin so can tolerate more

Please Don't, unless your skin is really strong, i think it will be irritated and lead to more blemishes if you use these actives together in a day as tretinoin is a strong form of retinol and so is benzoyl peroxide as an active ingredient
Omg Soooo true!!! And nobody seems to emphasize how irritating it can be… My face couldn’t even handle the face wash and I now use a q tip to spot treat only.
exactly! people talk about retinoid irritation a lot, but benzoyl peroxide never gets as much caution even though it's veryyyy irritating to people!

I’m using Tretinoin 0.1% as well and even the worst irritation I’ve gotten from starting Tretinoin is far less than just the benzoyl peroxide face wash I used. thank you for bringing this to people’s attention because I thought it was just my skin. It does kill my breakouts in hours tho when I spot treat and that just shows how strong it is, I’ve never used anything else that could work so fast and pretty much

Another tip is to apply at AFFECTED area(s) or the pimple(s)... not your whole damn face.
So you don't need that much to begin with.
that would be if you're using benzoyl peroxide only as a spot treatment. It is also used as a general facial treatment for the prevention of acne, so in that case you would apply it to the whole face
@@usamasyedI use BP leave on as a short therapy cleanser lol. Because it costs 40% less than panoxly wash. Just use BP from pharmaceutical companies and apply a fucking ton of moisturizer
