Thank you! a washer was blocking my tube. Also I found that the black rubber in the tube is a check valve. Only lets the water flow out of the dishwasher and not back in.
Oh my God!!!! Your a life saver... I have the exact same dishwasher... and it got clogged... your video was the only one that explains how to fix a "Kenmore quiet guard 1" ... I didn't pull my dishwasher out.. I just unscrewed the bottom part of the dish washer as you mentioned.... turned off the main electrical power supply... put a cookie sheet pan under the hose to not make a watery mess... the tube is very easy to reach by hand and visible.. used a wrench to help me undo the water hose from the white plastic tube ... twisted the white tube like u mentioned ... then clicked the sides of the white tube to take the inside peice out... and I found that a "Date pit " was stuck inside.. I pushed it out with my screwdriver and good whack.. it flew out.. reassembled everything back , screwed back the white outer lid.. and it works again!!! Amazing video!!! Thank you ( I never write reviews but this was definitely a life saver... needle in a hay stack video!!)
Thanks for this. It was exactly my problem. Of course I found your video AFTER replacing the impellers in my pump. I didn’t find any problems w/the pump and the drain hose to the disposal was clear, but when removed that short tube that the drain hose attaches to, it did have some stuff in it. Don’t forget to put the check valve back together before screwing it back under the dishwasher. It will keep water in the hose from going back into the dishwasher. Thanks again!

Hi! my kenmore dishwasher currently wont drain, there is still water inside. How would you suggest emptying out the water before removing the hose to check if it's clogged?? Will it leak everywhere once I take the hose off?
Thank you so much! I was 2 hours into trying to figure out what was wrong with my dishwasher. I saw this video, watched it, pulled that plastic drain piece off, and yep, it was impacted full of junk. Cleaned it out, put it back together, and it drains like a champ.
Thank you. This was the video that helped me the most and saved me a lot of money. The outlet piece was dirty, ball and the inside of the drain was gunky. I cleaned it out and tested it to make sure water flowed out of it prior to putting the dishwasher back together. The only way of reaching this area was to pull the dishwasher out. I am so happy. My unit is a Whirlpool Dishwasher purchased when I built my home in 2003.
That machine will last for ages, that’s a Whirlpool powerclean based dishwasher. Whirlpool made Kenmore, so it’s the same thing just with a Kenmore badge. These are highly reliable and the most powerful made residential dishwashers in the US. I own one myself and it’s used heavily, with absolutely no problems and the power this machine has is absolutely incredible.

I wish I had found this video first before I took the innards aprart
